  1. You have the answers right in front of you. Your drive is crappy and your discs are worse. Get an external drive, hopefully a pioneer or some other good brand an get rid of the crap discs you bought. Since the disc verifies correctly, you have faith in your method of creating the .iso, your firmware is the latest and the replay device is modified correctly it doesn't leave much to work with...and post a log of the burn please.

  2. Trying the Verbatim one's are just down right dumb when every DL disc worked why would it all of a sudden just change?

I still dont understand over 100 copies have been successfully burned with the memorex disc now every disc i try fails I'm lost

That's because Memorex outsources it's disc manufacturing to many firms, some are acceptable but the majority are crap. You can see the disc ID in the right side window when ImgBurn is in read mode and then you can Google the MID and see for yourself what others think of each individual disc in your pack.

We only recommend certain products because their failure rate is so much less than that of the type you are reporting that you use. Since disc quality is one of our largest problems, the suggestion to change to the best, regardless of the cost, is the only one that makes sense as we are trying to eliminate the most common cause of individual failure.

We can't hold your hand and make you buy better media, check your firmware, check your cables, check whatever else it is that may be wrong, but we also do not want to keep repeating ourselves either...if you do not want to change media...do what you want, but leave us out of it until you decide that we may just know a little bit more about this subject than you do. <_<

  3. Use the Verify mode to check that disc against the source image. Without the verify we don't know if it's a good burn or not.

but that wont effect the fact that it aint playing right?

We need to know if it was a bad burn or not. If it passes verify then the disc is fine and it's your console that needs fixing.

I burned NCAA right before that and it works fine how could that work but not madden?

Without the verify we still don't know if it was a good burn or not

    Get the idea?

  4. I/O errors are caused by the urner/firmware/media not playing well together.

    1. You're using Rtek DL dvd's...not a good idea since they are not anywhere near the quality of the ones we recommend HERE.

    2. Check your firmware version and update if necessary, just ecause you just purchased the thing doesn't mean that the drivers aren't out of date.

    3. Read the bit at the top, if you had researched prior to posting you would have found this stuff out for yourself and been all the smarter for it.

  5. An I/O error indicates that the firmware/media/burner are not playing nicely together.

Since you did not post a log (big hint ) I can only guess that your media may be of lesser quality, or maybe newer, than your burner can handle.

    SOOooooo...

Please post a log because my crystal ball is out for repairs and playing 20 questions, for about the thousanth time, tends to get a little old.

  6. It is an option, so why should be it in a "functions" guide? If there was an "Option guide", I would have read it.

We don't have an "Option Guide" for the program...we have a "Function Guide". I'm sure that if you do an excellent job of writing a "Option Guide", like Cynthia did, it would be available for users to read. However, if you read the pink bit at the top

Read the Guides forum if you don't know how to do something.

If you have a question or a problem, check the FAQ and use the Search to see if you can find the answer for yourself.

Still stuck? Create a new thread and describe your issue in detail. Make sure you include a copy of the program's log in your post

    .

you'll find that we do not refer you to any guides except the ones that are posted here.

as I also wrote in the post above, that you didn't read

So..... loose the smart-assed attitude, be grateful that there is a forum that accompanies such a brilliant piece of software, post a log from your failed burn and don't give smarmy crap to someone who is trying to help you figure out your problem. <_<

  7. I 16:06:42 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: CMC MAG-D01-00) (Speeds: 2,4x)

Your media is still poor quality.

Are you doing any other things on your system while trying to burn...playing games, surfing, music????

  8. I 23:44:33 Source Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3) (Speeds: 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x)

thank you I was burning at 2X speed. are yuo suggesting faster speed will work. I though slower is "safer"

As suggested by mmalves, burning at different supported speeds may enable your burner to make a disc that will verify and work. Your choice of media is absolute crap and there is nothing that we can suggest that you do with that besides maybe use it for target practice and get some Verbs or TY's.

  9. As long as the disc verified, all the data that you have in your original file(s) is burned onto the new disc. ImgBurn does a complete compare when it verifies, so the problem is with whatever you are burning to the disc and not with the program.

  10. Hi and welcome

I can see the files or watch the movie on ANY Vista box

I assume you have tried this on many many machines then?

The DVDs Im using to put files on are all sorts of different brands,

Although I understand the reason for the statement, if you have spent some time reading here, or on other forums, you will have realized that that is a huge problem when trying to troubleshoot.

if I try to view the files on an XP box, or play the movie on a DVD player -- I see nothing

The machine that you make the disc with should always be able to read it. A lot of problems are uncovered when trying to use other means of reading the same disc.

Lets start with a log of the complete, verified burn and work on up from there.
