i would burn them at 8 instead...which should give better result than 2x? I'd shit-can them, learn my lesson about crap media and move on to the media that we recommend here on the IB forum.

Is that sorta like horsey poo Shamus??? If so...what's a lookey look like??????

Buring starts slow, then gradually speeds up
spinningwheel replied to mbyllhmswslq's topic in ImgBurn Support
In addition to what Donta said above...it's a matter of physics, as the writing head moves outward on the disc, more info is placed on a track, therefore a faster write is achieved. Remember the physics question about what the fastest moving part of a tire is...it's not the rim but the tread...because of it's physical difference to the innermost part -
Media is crap... Try Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim (made in Singapore), Ritek started to go downhill a while back and hasn'[t recovered yet.
-
And, after you read the guides, post a log if the burn again fails.....
-
Yes .... and it is Super .... and free!

Check the forum at www.meritline.com, You can post the question and they will get back with an answer in a timely manner. And don't forget thet Taiyo Yuden is also highly recommended here.

Help can't burn Ridata S04 with Lite On SHM-165H6S
spinningwheel replied to jerryw's topic in ImgBurn Support
Hi and welcome to the forum jerryw; And...get rid of these as they really are inferior. Try some Verbatim DataLifePlus or Taiyo Yuden media as it is what we see really does the most reliable burns. You can see the disc reports under the media sticky HERE. -
100% buffers and not writing at 2x... writing at 2.5x
spinningwheel replied to mcdon's topic in ImgBurn Support
mcdon; Being an ASSHOLE is not going to endear you to the hearts and minds of those here trying to help you. Let me try to explain what is going on here so the you can understand... We ask for a logfile copy so that WE can see what you are doing and if YOU screwed the pooch somewhere in the overall process. We can also tell what media you are using and what speeds YOUR drive can burn the media at. Coming on board with no info and no idea what you are talking about helps neither You to solve the problem nor US to assist you. We see problems day in and day out and not one of us is clairvoyant, nor do we posess a crystal ball with which we could delve into your problem from afar. We recommend 2 disc producers here, Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim DataLifePlus ...... PERIOD. There are only a few media producing companies worldwide, and they just rename their products so that Maxell, Memorex and a whole shit load of other companies can sell them to gullible consumers. How do we know that???? We see it in the IB logfile that we asked for. These manufacturers don't give a flyng rats ass about whether you can copy a movie or anything else on their product, because they price it to be blown out the doors of a retail seller at such a low cost that consumers think a screwed up burn once in a while is acceptable. Then...6 months down the road, when they want to view the disc again...holy shit Batman....no image, or a really screwed up on is left on the media...why?... degredation of the disc that was such a buy when you got it. The reason that the info above the thread is in pink is so it grabs your attention. The amount of people that we try to help on a daily basis is sometimes staggering. IF they take the time to read and follow the pink thingy, they eliminate probably 40-60% of the EASY problems. That generally leaves us with the users who have tried to help themselves, the users who really have a problem, and those too lazy to follow direction. And finally, yes there are those of us around that can really help, but first YOU have to not be the asshole you started out to be, and if you try another burn, post a log. spinner -
You have the latest firmware and have tried the slowest speeds possible for your device/media combination so that eliminates one causal part of the problem. Did it just start with this batch of discs? Approx how many discs have you burned with the drive? Did you install any programming between the last successful burn and the first failure? Open IB>tools>driver load order and post a screenshot of the result.

Happens with external burners depending on the chipset that is contained in the burner housing. You are on USB 2.0 plugin correct? Can you mount the drive internally within your machine?
-
There is a newer firmware for your drive. Right click on your drive in IB and scroll to the bottom of the drop box. Click on the firmware check thingy and update. Return IB to defaults and this warning will go away. I shouldn't cause a burn failure anyway, but default is the only way to go unless you really know what you're doing with the program.

And remember that dvd drives operate on a byte by byte basis whereas stand alone devices, while similar, apply different rules to playing back media. You can google the differences if you want further info...but they are different in application.
-
That's a lot to expect from USB to USB. I use a USB HDD to rip to and then to burn from to my tower and I have verify problems most of the time. Can you mount one of the devices in your machine?

Read This thread of answers. Search is your friend

If this happens again please post a log of the burn.
-
Good luck with it, let us know how it turns out.
-
Your drive does not recognize your choice of disc...try Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DataLifePlus.

Wrong burner for Wii discs, you need a LG-8164b or one of its brothers in that version... LG only...your Sony may be a decent drive, but you need to follow spec...which chipset do you have installed...did you do it yourself or outsource it?
