  1. Even the manufacturer knows how good their hardware is You could try burning at 4x but your best chance would be with the 2.4x Verbatim blanks. Laptop drives generally aren't good burners, and Matshita are the worst of them. If you could get an external burner it would be even better, and they could even burn those 8x Verbatims you have
  2. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished). You might also want to try burning at 6x or 8x. If all that doesn't help then read this -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  3. Your burner doesn't support that media. Have you read this? Is there any particular reason for using UDF 2.50? I'm asking because UDF 1.02 is the most compatible revision (e.g. Windows XP can't read UDF 2.50 natively).
  4. Please post the log as it has all the information we need (look in ImgBurn's Help menu ).
  5. The message ImgBurn shown by ImgBurn is coming directly from your drive, and it thinks there's no disc inside. Have you changed type and/or brand of discs? Does the drive recognize burned discs?
  6. That's because the layerbreak position is only important for building DVD-Video discs/images. For data only discs/images the data is split equally on both layers.
  7. Try a lens cleaning disc on that drive. Also try burning at 6x or 8x. It would be better if you tried with Verbatim 2.4x blanks. If all that doesn't solve your problem then you'll have to buy a new burner
  8. Seems more like a communication problem/incompatibility, since usually there is some kind of error before getting the invalid address messages Have you tried with the controller in AHCI mode? Install this and this after enabling AHCI in the BIOS.
  9. Unfortunately no one here knows for sure. LUK and a few beta members have BluRay burners and from their experience it was found that LG media is rubbish, while Verbatim never gave them any problems. Do you think you could get in touch with TDK and ask them to exchange your discs since they didn't work on a burner that the manufacturer says supports them? Maybe also get in touch with Pioneer to see if they know of a particular brand of BD-R DL that works best with their burner?
  10. Please read this Mini-FAQ for Samsung DVD Writers, it's very informative Bottom line: TS-Hxxxx burners are OEM and their firmware is released/updated by the computer manufacturer (HP/Dell/etc). FirmwareHQ only mirrors official firmwares. If you're in doubt, download the official firmwares (0609/HB02/A104) and the ones on FirmwareHQ to compare them: they're exactly the same On another note, you could try a lens cleaning disc on yours burners for best chance of burning those Memorex blanks, but Verbatim is really the way to go, not to mention they'll last longer too P.S. (Portuguese): Brasil-sil-sil!
  11. There's newer firmware available for your burner: try the HB02 first, and if it doesn't work then use 0609. There's also newer firmware availabe for this burner. In both cases, remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before updating, then reboot the computer after the update is finished. Also please read this -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  12. First of all, please update ImgBurn. If that drive is on a HP/Compaq computer then try this firmware update (remove any disc and close the tray before updating). If that doesn't help then please read this -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  13. Try a lens cleaning disc on that drive, but it would be better if you could get a new burner
  14. Apparently most people can't tell a pink banner at the top of every page from the rest of the forum's layout
  15. Try a lens cleaning disc on that drive, and if it still can't burn Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL media then you should get a new burner.
  16. Try burning at 4x or 2.4x. Try a lens cleaning disc on that drive. Try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks.
  17. The only thing I can think of that could help is using Incremental write type (you can set this in Tools -> Settings -> Write tab (page 1)). Also make sure you're using the latest BIOS available for your motherboard.
  18. Looks like your IDE-to-SATA adapter is hanging the I/O (that's why the whole computer hangs). What's the brand and model of your motherboard? ( sorry my bad should've seen this on your original post) Which SATA ports have you tried it on? It would be better if you could use the burner on the onboard IDE port and use the IDE-to-SATA adapter on the less important IDE HD you have
  19. And you wonder why they don't work?! You should know by now that manufacturers say anything to get their stuff sold Anyway, it's your drive that's returning those errors, and unfortunately no software can get around them. First of all, you should be using the latest version of ImgBurn. Check if the BD-REs are really clean (BluRay is very finicky about dirt/smudges/etc) and you could also try a lens cleaning disc on your drive, preferably one that's "BluRay compatible/certified". You could also try a Full Erase (it includes formatting on compatible media) with another BluRay burner you may have access to, as there's a chance another drive might be able to do the job. As for the Full Erase process, it works like this: ImgBurn sends a format media command, waits for the drive to do it (if the drive informs the progress then ImgBurn shows it in the status bar); when it finishes, ImgBurn then writes zeroes to all the sectors on the disc, effectively fully erasing it. After doing this the first time, you don't need to erase the disc anymore: just overwrite it. But if you use another burning program that doesn't care about the formatting (*cough* Ner0 :& ) then your disc may lose it's formatted state
  20. We need the log from one of those burns (look in ImgBurn's Help menu)
  21. That's the purpose of the Verify process, not the graphs.
  22. Update ImgBurn. Look for a newer BIOS for your motherboard. Try your burner on another SATA port with another SATA cable. You should also look for updated drivers for your motherboard's chipset, or at least for the controller where the burner is connected. If all that doesn't help try what this post says (removing controllers/etc).
  23. You can set recode to output to a folder, which you can then use ImgBurn to burn to DVD If the disc passed verify and glitches on the DVD player it may be due to the media you're using or the DVD player needs cleaning with a lens cleaning disc. Post the log of a burn+verify from one of those glitchy discs and we'll be able to help further
  24. Leave Verify enabled and that'll verify if it was good burn or not
  25. I meant the "Sectors:" line in the image information area (left side of ImgBurn's window).
