  1. When the start button gets grayed out again, please copy and paste here all the media information text shown in ImgBurn's main window.
  2. Tell him to burn at 6x or 4x to see how it turns out. If that doesn't work then he should try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks.
  3. Open ImgBurn, go to Build mode, Advanced tab -> Media tab, choose Custom double-layer profile and enter a large number for both Max Sectors in L0 and Media Capacity, then close ImgBurn to save those settings. That way you'll never be asked about the layerbreak again. Also install the latest ImgBurn version, if you haven't already, and change /BUILDMODE IMAGEFILE to /BUILDOUTPUTMODE IMAGEFILE. You can also remove /ROOTFOLDER "YES" since ImgBurn detects DVD-Video content and won't ask about the root. ImgBurn doesn't have a DLL or an API, but it does have the command line switches, which you can find all of them listed in ImgBurn's Read Me.
  4. There's no solution to be "found": if the burner can't burn the best dual-layer media you can get then it's as good as dead, at least in my opinion.
  5. No.
  6. ImgBurn doesn't change anything. Maybe your player needs the ts file in a special format or with specific flags or something.
  7. But it is a DVD-ROM drive.
  8. Please elaborate that
  9. Try burning at 6x or 4x to see if it works, but your problem is most likely the crappy media you have (please read this). Even if it did burn OK the resulting disc possibly wouldn't play on many standalone players. To have the best compatibility proceed like this: mount that ISO image to a virtual drive, or extract it with 7-Zip/WinRAR/etc, and build the dual-layer disc from the VIDEO_TS folder. You could also set DVD Shrink to save to a folder instead of an ISO image.
  10. ImgBurn doesn't convert video if that's what you're thinking: you'd use DVD Flick, ConvertXtoDVD or similar programs to do that.
  11. Try burning at 6x or 8x. Try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc. You could try crossflashing the burner if you know how to do it. Else read this -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
  12. If you want to copy a disc then this is what you should be doing. You should also read this
  13. Update your burner's firmware and try again. If it doesn't work then try cleaning the burner with a lens cleaning disc.
  14. Yup, after that even if the software try to write the burner will refuse.
  15. Have you tried cleaning the burner with a lens cleaning disc or something?
  16. ImgBurn can't do that.
  17. Do you have the log from when you've tried with Verbatim media? You can find previous logs in ImgBurn's Help menu.
  18. Go to Tools -> Settings -> I/O tab, enable the Reading - Always Use Buffered I/O option, click OK and see if it solves your buffer problem. Also... There's newer firmware available for your burner (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished).
  19. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try burning again at 4x or 6x. And leave Verify enabled in case you've changed it.
  20. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try burning again at 8x or 12x. You could do better with high quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks.
  21. Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished) and try burning again. If it doesn't work at first, try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc.
  22. You need to use a program like DVD Flick or ConvertXtoDVD to convert those videos before burning.
  23. It seems there's information missing from that log. Can you try doing that again and include the whole log? Please use the Edit -> Select All option to include everything.
  24. Burning at the slowest speed doesn't necessarily result in a better quality burn, especially when using media rated for up to 8x write speed. If your drive can't produce a good burn at the other available speeds your only options are trying to find the Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL blanks or getting a new burner that likes the 8x Verbatim blanks you have.
