  1. I don't have DVDinfo installed and have disabled graph export in ImgBurn too. I'll create a backup for roll back ... Stay tuned
  2. Thanks for the quick reply. I've held many a network, HDD and ribbon cable in place with blutach. Great stuff! If you find some in a PC at a Hog's Breath Cafe in Australia while you're doing maintenance, it wasn't me. Found that setting, I guess the problem that I have come across is that I am dealing with large compressions within the image that I am trying to create as it is, such is ISO's for WINXP, Office, Symantec, and others that are exceeding the 700 MB size on their own and as such are the application is not going to split them when creating the image. Was thinking about it as a layman for a while and for some reason thought that it would split the files inside the image (D'OH!), but since I ran out of beer about 2 hours ago and have been drinking Coke again, my though processes are starting to clear up. It is after midnight here and you can't buy anymore booze, so intelligence is creeping back in to play. Sorry to trouble you and thanks for your reply, it would indeed solve my problem once I solve the PEBCAK error. I need to rethink my strategy, but this is definitely the best tool I have found for burning in a long time. I'll be sending a donation by week's end as well as letting my former colleagues from BOBJ/SAP who aren't in the fold know about your work. Keep it up. Thanks again
  3. G'day all, When I create a cue list and insert a 2-second (150 frame) gap between tracks, the resulting audio CDs nearly all have clicks either at the end of the previous track, or at the end of the gap. I master all CD tracks to end on an exact frame boundary so this kind of thing won't happen, and it seems to only happen with IB's cue-based sessions. Is there something I'm missing? Or should this be formally raised as a bug report? (Hopefully it's just me). Cheers, PCPete
  4. Hello Excuse me for my poor english language ! I have a important question : there is an incompatibility between ImgBurn and AnyDVD ? A solution at this problem ??? Because i like used ImgBurn to create an image iso of my DVD, with AnyDVD in background. Thank you ?
  5. Today I spent some time in testing this great program and i have to say 'well done LUK' I tried to make my weekly backup with ImgBurn and i noticed few things: 1.DVD no1 Misc data - one 2.3GB file + ~2000 very small ones [various source code, most of them under 1kb], 4.2GB total UDF filesystem v1.02 / DVD+R Verbatim 16x [i am not sure about exact series/other data, i use this type of media for long time without any issues] / 8x write speed Disc was finished in just under 8min without warnings After writing I tried to copy whole content from DVD to my HDD to check that all files are readable [this was important backup] Copy time was way too long - 40min total Then i tried to burn same compilation [same settings] with Nero 8.2.8 and copy time was around 25min After that, i transfered compilation on my laptop and burned from there 2 discs, one with nero and one with imgburn [same data noticed above ofc]. Copy times was similar to ones from 1st measure [42min for disc from imgburn and 26min from nero] Also, during transfer from imgburn's disc i noticed strange 'clack-clack' sounds from DVD drive. (similar sound to one when you trying to read damaged disc) Did someone have any idea about this? 2.DVD no2 Large files - 6x700mb files well, my vacation videos you know.. ISO9660+UDF / relaxed restrictions / same media as DVD1 / 8x write speed Disc finished in time, no errors Time to copy to HDD - 11min [as you can see, i become pretty paranoid after 1st DVD (1st 4 to be more acurate lol)] 3.DVD no3 DVD film - few large 1gb and some small files Same as DVD2, no problems at all Conclusion ImgBurn is great program, lightweight, easy to use, portable Ofc, there is room for improvements. -Maybe you should to implement some sort of folder structure editor/more usable file browser in build mode. Consider this fairly common scenario: User want to create few folders on DVD structure and put various files from his HDD into them without creating those structures on HDD. With this build mode implementation in v2.4 i dont know how to do that. I'll continue to use ImgBurn and, if some of suggestions above find place in some future release, ImgBurn will totally replace Nero on my PC P.S. Off topic question. Can someone closely explain red marked options on picture. I suppose what they are but i am not sure P.P.S. Sorry for long post and sorry for my terrible English <3 Mare
  6. Hi, When burning a DVD movie to disk in 'Write files/folders to disk' mode you can add a folder or more. It seems to me there are several ways to do this. Lets say on my hard disk I have a DVD movie ready to burn in the following folder: c:\DVD\Crash\ which has 2 sub dirs: c:\DVD\Crash\AUDIO_TS (empty) c:\DVD\Crash\VIDEO_TS When I add the folder(s) to burn this DVD I can add folders in 3 different ways, either: 1) Add just: c:\DVD\Crash\ 2) Add just: c:\DVD\Crash\VIDEO_TS 3) Add both: c:\DVD\Crash\AUDIO_TS and c:\DVD\Crash\VIDEO_TS Is there any difference at all in what gets burned between these 3 different folder adding possibilities? In my tests, but outputting to ISO files, they appear to burn exactly the same folders/files. So am I correct in thinking that if I choose to burn using the 2) option of selecting just the c:\DVD\Crash\VIDEO_TS folder that ImgBurn automatically knows to add an empty AUDIO_TS folder? To put it another way, is it not necessary for me to manually create an empty AUDIO_TS folder on my hard disk because if I am burning a VIDEO_TS folder ImgBurn is smart enough to know to burn an empty AUDIO_TS folder alongside it? Finally as a new user to ImgBurn who will be primarily using it to burn movie DVDs, are there any pitfalls or option settings that I should be aware of? Thanks a lot everyone, regards, etc.
  7. Hi, The last day I've tried to generate a slipstreamed XP Pro (SP2) boot CD without success. Now I simply want to create a non-slipstreamed XP Pro boot CD, but still without success. I have the original boot CD, now stored as X1APOEM_DE.ISO on my disk (568.723.456bytes). Using ImgBurn 2.4.0.0 or Altap Salamander 2.5 I've extracted the 2048byte boot image. From the original iso I've extracted all files into an empty directory "H:\XPSETUP". Then I've switched ImgBurn to Build mode, added the directory "H:\XPSETUP\". On the Options card, "ISO9660" is selected and only the checkboxes "Recurse Subdirectories", "Include Hidden Files" and "Include System Files" are selected. On the Labels card, "X1APOEM_DE" without quotes is added in the ISO9660 input field. On the Advanced/Restrictions/ISO9660 card the option "Level X - 219 Characters", "ASCII" and all checkboxes ("Allow More Than 8 Directory Levels", "Allow More Than 255 Characters In Path", "Allow Files Without Extension" and "Don't Add ';' Version Number To Files") are selected. On Advanced/Bootable Disk card the checkbox "Make Image Bootable" is selected, Emulation Type is set to "None (Custom)", Boot Image is pointing to "H:\xp\s01-bootdisk-noemul.img" without quotes, Developer ID is empty, Load Segment is unchanged at 07C0 and Sectors To Load is changed to 4. As build destination h:\xp.iso is chosen. When I click the Build button, I'm asked whether the 'XPSETUP' folder is the root directory for the image and I choose Yes. After a while ImgBurn shows a confirmation dialog with the calculated sizes and I click OK. A few moments later I'm getting the "Operation Successfully Completed!" message, but the generated file h:\xp.iso is larger (572.260.352bytes) than the original image's size (568.723.456bytes). Now I open a virtual machine in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, click "CD|Capture ISO Image" choosing h:\xp.iso and reboot. On the message "Drücken Sie eine beliebige Taste, um von der CD zu starten ..." I press the space bar and one second later Virtual PC 2007 reboots. Capturing the original iso image X1APOEM_DE.ISO works fine in Virtual PC 2007. I've also tried to add the Joliet file system, too, but the result is the same. Does anybody successfully created a Windows boot CD using ImgBurn 2.4.0.0? 8. Good day everyone I downloaded the program and tried to create a disk image of my partition "C" - trying to understand the guide on the website on this topic but I cannot make heads or tails of it. I used the "Build" option successfully (I believe). When I tried to use the Write option it requested a file to open - but could not find any. Can somebody just give me a short step by step process for making an ISO image of a disk partition and how to write it to my DVD disk (dual layer). Thanks everyone and have a great weekend.
  9. Hello LUK, is it possible to create an extra option for the ez-picker to directly go to the create CUE file ? Thanx
  10. I've just discovered your new version 2.4.0.0, and I'm very impressed. I'm glad ImgBurn can now burn audio CDs. That's great! However, I think I've found a bug in Create CD Cue File. Here is what I did: I've successfully imported several tracks from the same CD, in FLAC format. Then I have selected the Disc icon, and enabled CD-TEXT -> Tag. (There is a little problem here, as the title and performers fields are inverted, but I guess it's because the tags are wrong, as I have not this problem with other CDs.) Then, I have saved the cue file on disc, and viewed it in a text editor. The global CD title and performer fields are not in the file! Note that if I click Custom after having selected the Tag radiobutton, the title and performer fields are correctly saved.
  11. The only one I've spotted a problem with is the 'Disc' one - which has been mentioned above. When you click 'OK' to create the CUE file the Disc's CD-TEXT values get cleared (with the intention of filling them again with the most recent data), but they're only filled out if all the other files are set to 'Tag' too. I've fixed that now so hopefully it's all ok.
  12. Thanks for the new version LUK! I was about to ask a similar question when I saw this thread, so I thought I'd post here instead of starting a new thread. I had installed the madFlac directshow filter and am able to play flac files in various media players (WMP, MPC etc.) and also render them in GraphEdit, but when I try to create a Cue File in Imgburn using flac files or load an existing Cue sheet that points to a flac file I get the same error message about "No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection." Anyway, I was just wondering if this is an issue with madFlac or Imgburn?
  13. Who can tell me where's the language resource file? How to create or get it?
  14. Thank you, ImgBurn just get's better and better! The only feature left that I would love to see would be the option to create new folders when in build mode. Thanks again
  15. Hmmmmmmmmmm.....that is interesting. Is there a way to have ImgBurn to this? That is, create a cuesheet with your audio, add a second session, and NOT load an ISO, just find out the LBA the ISO should be at. then exit, build your "data" session and tell it the LBA you want and then remake your QUE with the ISO? Can this be done? Maybe convoluted 4 sure, but interesting
  16. What I guess you have to understand is that what I added is BIN/CUE support in Read/Write mode. Nothing more, nothing less. Audio CD support is only in there because those modes now support CUE files. To be able to work with (read/write) CD Extra discs, I also needed multisession support. The 'Create CD CUE File' is exactly what it says, it makes a text file, that's all. There's nothing clever behind it. Don't try and make it into something it's not. It's not designed with any particular disc type in mind - i.e. it's not actually for making an Audio CD, it just happens to be able to. Without it, the only way to write an audio cd would be to first 'Read' it from a disc or have an existing image. I knew that wasn't going to be enough, hence the reason for it's existence - although in a very generic sense. It's an 'Advanced' feature and the 'Session' button is really only there for completeness as it's supported by the CUE file implementation. The feature simply provides a means of doing something (making a basic CUE file). It's down to you (the hopefully knowledgeable end user) to ensure that the whole thing actually works.
  17. Yes sorry you're way off. ImgBurn can't be used to create a CD Extra disc from scratch (why would you ever want to?!) but it'll read / write an existing one. The 2nd session option in the 'Create CD CUE File' option can only be used when the data track you're adding has been created with the appropriate starting LBA. Otherwise all the LBA's will be starting from 0 when really session 2 might start at LBA 100000. It would also work if you'd extracted the cd-da/data tracks off a cd extra disc as individual files - rather than an image. I hope that clears things up.
  18. ok...just trying to figure this out from above: "Create an iso in build mode with your mp3's. Then when making your cue, add the wavs, then the iso as the second session. It will then burn as intended " I am just trying to make a CD-EXTRA so I thought the above statement meant to read: 1. Make ISO of MP3s. 2. Open ImgBurn and in session one add the MP3s for your music CD (to be made into WAVs) 3. Make Session 2 4. Add in the ISO 5. Burn I think this is what JasonFriday meant right? I use Nero to make these things and would like to scrap it all-together (music and data can be useful). I guess I am asking can ImgBurn do this all in one step...if not one step are there multiple steps or guide I can follow? In any case, no error is given in ImgBurn. Am I way off in looking at this Multisession thingy? thanks again....Nero is almost gone now LOL!!!! thanks for ImgBurn
  19. Indeed, you're adding files that represent tracks in the Create CUE window, not files to burn as-is. Even then, you can't build an ISO and just shove it on the end for CD Extra, the LBA addresses in the file system will be all wrong.
  20. Thanks Jason... Now if someone could please tell me how to not replicate the hard drive folder structure when I create an ISO, that would be nice.
  21. Create an iso in build mode with your mp3's. Then when making your cue, add the wavs, then the iso as the second session. It will then burn as intended .
  22. ImgBurn can't create open/non-finalized/multisession discs: it can only create closed/finalized discs, which is the most compatible type. Your problem seems to be poor quality media. Try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden rewritables as they're known for quality By the way, open/non-finalized discs wouldn't play at all on standard DVD players.
  23. It is ImgBurn that complains that my ISOs are not split correctly for DL disks. That's not exactly the language the program uses but that's the essence of it. It apparently needs to know at what point in the ISO it needs to start on the second layer. I create my ISOs with DVDShrink. No other burner complains of such a thing. It is exactly that issue that led me to this forum. And I can claim my 100% success rate on HP and Memorex discs BECAUSE I verify each and every burn, whether it's SL or DL. I subsequently test them on three different computer DVD drives and four different DVD players. I should add that I tried other brands before I settled on those two. Verbatim was one of them and they worked fine but can be more expensive than Memorex. HP are the highest priced but also the slowest burning. The absolute worst: Matrix. At best they offer a 10% success ratio.
  24. maybe you changed where the iso is stored and the mds file inside is still pointing to where it used to live. open ImgBurn and choose tools and create dvd mds add the iso and follow instructions
