  1. I tried ImgBurn after something efd my Nero installation and it has worked wonderfully. I normally burn data CDs and "normal" single layer DVDs of either +/-R varieties and have had no problems or coasters. YEA!!! Thanks for making such a great product. I have burned a few DVD DL discs without incident. On 2 occasions i have wanted to burn a DVD DL and i got a message similar to : No Layer Break Point has been found. Start crying as this really is the end of the world! It did not open the dialog box to allow me to make/choose one. I did burn it anyhow the first time i got this message and don't recall any problems playing or viewing the disc.. But getting this with a different fileset it made me wonder. My information file tells me where the LBP should be. How can i enter this manually to create a LBP? Is there a way? According to the info i received with the video_ts folder and files says : LAYER BREAK CHAPTER MARKER - 00:46:27:19 I went ahead and clicked to burn it and then a dialog opened to show me a LBP, however, it was at 00:56:57 rather than the position in my info file. It showed no other optional LBPs. This is the second of a 2 disc set. The first disc was fine as it found the layer break point and also several other possibilities for one. Neither of the discs are copy protected in any way. Here is the information from IMGBurn : PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D 1.19 (SCSI) Current Profile: DVD+R DL Disc Information: Status: Complete Erasable: No Sessions: 1 Sectors: 2,852,176 Size: 5,841,256,448 bytes Time: 633:51:01 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x DVD±R DL Boundary Information: L0 Data Zone Capacity: 1,671,952 Changeable: No TOC Information: Session 1... -> Track 01 (Mode 1, LBA: 0 - 2852175) -> LeadOut (LBA: 2852176) Physical Format Information (ADIP): Disc ID: RITEK-D01-01 Book Type: DVD+R DL Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,580,607 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 2,283,519 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Disc ID: RITEK-D01-01 Book Type: DVD-ROM Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 2 Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP) Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,088,879 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 1,868,559 Layer Information: Layer 0 Sectors: 1,671,952 (58.62%) Layer 1 Sectors: 1,180,224 (41.38%) Will this burn ok? sweating.gif ( i know, i know - get better media. these were given to me and i haven't had a failed burn yet. ) System info : WinXP SP2 1GB DDR RAM Athalon XP 3000+ Thanks for any and all help! RasViKing OOPS! the data i posted there was from the first DVD which had no problem finding the LBP. Once the burn on this one is finished i'll open the log and post that info if it is needed. sorry.
  2. single layer disc = 4.38 gig capacity dual layer disc =8.5 gig capacity If the dvd you're trying to copy is a commercial dvd (movie ) with copyright protection then IMGburn will NOT read the dvd to your hard drive . Put your disc in the burner choose create iso from disc then post the log its the window below the main IB window ,simply copy and paste the info to your next post
  3. I have an .iso of a dual layer DVD. I do not have an MDS for it. How do I find the correct layer break and create an appropriate MDS file using the .iso?
  4. You sure? I have read that with Xbox 360 samsungdrive and NME images you have to use DVD+R DL bitsetting... DVD-ROM is for hitachi iXtreme.... Quote from a forum: Sidenote: If your Xbox360 is equipped with a Hitachi drive then you don't have to change the booktype necessarily as this one can handle the booktypes DVD+R DL and DVD-R. For Samsung drive the booktype MUST be set to DVD+R DL. Anyway we suggest to always change the booktype to DVD+R DL because what if you are going to take your legit backup to your friend to play it there and his Xbox360 is equipped with a samsung drive? It won't work there. And this is one of the main reasons to create a backup, to not to carry your expensive original game around with you and possibly damage it...
  5. I tried that and it didn't work. It gave me an error that said "Invalid or unsupported image file format". I used Daemon Tools Pro to create the image and I've successfully mapped the image as a drive. So the image apparently works, I just can't get it burned to a cd.
  6. You don't play online then mate ? I always update so that I can and I haven't seen any issues with Fw2.0 in fact it's a very nice update for me with themes and the ability to create your own with icons etc for the XMB bar
  7. The MDS contains the LB for the ISO, yes. I don't think it matters whether you delete it or don't create it in the first place - I haven't tried this method yet, by the way, and I have a feeling that the seamless flag in the IFO files may not be changed anyway. Give it a try. Regards
  8. Thank you Tach. I thought the MDS contained the layer break for the ISO? Or is the LB also stored in the ISO? Do I need to create MDS file or can I select under "read" settings to not create an MDS?
  9. Hi, I just got a new PC so I downloaded the latest version of ImgBurn (2.3.2.0). On my previous PC, I was using DVD Decrypter version 3.5.4.0. With that, I had it set up to copy a DVD to my hard drive in the form of .IFO and .BUP files. Then I would use CloneDVD2 to select menus/sound, compress, and write to DVD. I can't get ImgBurn to Read and create the IFO files. Only to create ISO. How do I set up ImgBurn? I've read through the 'guides' forum and the FAQs and used the Search option and found no help. Thanks.
  10. I haven't find an option that will allow to create catalogs in bulid mode, and then move files across it, change file structure. I found only on option to move the whole file structure from disk to image, but cannot change it in a way described above. Thanks for greate iso burnign work! )
  11. No, i mean a different thing. Let say that i want to burn a DVD that it'll contain directories from two different hard drives ( C: & D:). TC doesn't let me select directories from two different hard drives simultaneously, so that i'll have to do it this way : First i'll select directories from C: and then i'll execute imgburn /SCRLIST "%L" to create a new project with these directories. I'll have to repeat the process with D: directories and execute imgburn /SCRLIST "%L" again, but these directories should be appended to the previous ones, to create only one project with all directories. Thank you
  12. Hi , i'm a newbie about IMGBURN but i'd like to add multiple files/folders to IMGBURN from TC. Total Commander can create different types of lists : Which one do you think is the best for IMGBURN ? In order to be able to launch IMGBURN from TC i must configure TC this way : and IMGBURN will recieve this (TC'll change file names so that CMD8A.tmp is not a constant) : I've been testing and it doesn't work, if you introduce /SRCLIST switch may you consider to also accept .tmp files ?. It may be a good idea also to create an /SRCLIST APPEND switch, to append different files lists to the same project. If i only use ImgBurn.exe /SRC "C:\BackupProject.Txt", will IMGBURN use all my other current IMGBURN settings or i have to add other switches to command line ?. I've tried Imgburn /SRC "C:\LIST.TXT" (executed from command line) and IMGBURN starts in buildmode, but it doesn't assume each line is a folder, only C:\LIST.TXT appears on source, what am i doing wrong ? Thank you very much for such a great program .
  13. Hello I have just replaced decrypter with image burn and the program is great. When I use dvd shrink after the disc has been scanned then opened I backup the file and chose the option create iso file and burn with decrypter. Once the backup is complete decrypter would start burning. With image burn the option to burn automaicaly is no longer there. I have to back up the file them manually start image burn. Is there a way to have shrink recognize image burn as the replacement for decrypter. I would appreciate any help for this problem. Thanks
  14. I think this question has been asked before, but I didn't see a clear answer. I am getting a "cannot replace or create file, access denied" error as I try to burn a dvd. I dont' know if my settings are not correct or what. What would be the best setting to handle most types of dvds, and how do I get rid of the error? (I did all of the things mentioned in a previous thread of similar circunstances. Any help would do. I have copied the log to show what is happening. I don't know what any of this stuff mean. 15. Well, I used ImgBurn to create an ISO file and burned that to a disk. I can play that back on my PC without difficulty. Others have suggested I have a PAL vs NTSC issue ...
  16. I have been authoring my own DVDs using original footage for several years. I have also used Imgburn for some time. I admit to lacking knowledge related to burning DL disks. In my first attempt at DL authoring, I ran into a little snag. When I was about to create an image file from the files in the VIDEO_TS folder, Imgburn asked me to specify volume label and then the layer break options appeared, showing only a single option for layer break, color coded as average. My question is: How can I author the DVD so I will have more options for layer breaks?
  17. Hi, I want to copy a DVD which was created by a DVD/HD-recorder which sometimes creates multiple titlesets which point to the same data (e.g. "VTS_01_1.VOB" is the same as "VTS_02_1.VOB"). It does that when recordings with different qualities (more exactly different resolutions like full PAL and half PAL) are on the same disk, one TS per resolution. Unfortunately the direct copying by reading in the DVD as ISO file, then burning it doesn't work (other DVD-players read the copy without problems, but the recorder does not). Burning a new Video-DVD with the data of the old one does work (with some restrictions), but of course not with such double- or triple-titlesets which make a normal 4,7 GB DVD look as if it contains 9 or 13 GB. I know that ImgBurn can create such hard-links for data DVDs with identical files, but for Video-DVDs it seems not to work. Any hints what I can do? Thanks! Michael
  18. I am fairly sure that it is using MS-DOS. How can you tell? I didn't make the image myself, I used one that ImgBurn created from a disk I had. Can I create my own and just replace all of the files in the image with the ones I need?
  19. Just one more thing. When i create ISO (image) on a hard drive with ImgBurn, cyrillics appear normal on image's volume label (i.e. it's name). But if burning files directly to media with ImgBurn, cyrillics turn in to unreadable text on image's volume label in 'My Computer' / 'Explorer' when the disc is in the drive. May be that will give you some idea? Thanks!
  20. My burner can't read that disc at all, it says that it uses a format that it's not compatible with Windows when i put the disc inside. My burner is a NEC ND 4550A with the latest firmware (1.09). However the Plextor can read the disc perfectly and i can access it's contents without any problems. Also i tested this disc on another drive (it was probably an unbranded drive, i don't remember for sure) and it was also working fine there. I uninstalled Alcohol more than a year ago. However as i see in the Autoruns i still have the sptd driver. Can this driver cause any conficts? Is it safe to completely delete the entry with Autoruns? Update: Ok it seems that my Plextor doesn't work correctly with imgburn. I tried inserting a lot of different discs, original pc, ps1 & ps2 games, discs copied by others etc. I always get the message that disc is not supported (audio). However the discs that can be read by my burner* (NEC ND-4550A) they work perfectly with imgburn in read mode and i can create the image. * It seems that my burner can only read cd's and not dvd's! Seems like a nasty conflict there. In case you are wondering why i didn't say all this sooner, it's just i use my burner for burning purposes only and my plextor for all the reading purposes. Plus with other programs, (Ashampoo burning studio and/or nero for example) they never complained about the cd/dvd i wanted to create the image. And now i discovered all this i am wondering what is wrong with my drives.
  21. Hello all. I have been looking through the forum here looking for some information that might lead me in the right direction but am still lost. I need to make a disk that is bootable but when it boots it would be nice if i could have it prompt me to boot to the Windows Vista install, or to Dell's Diagnostics information. Is this possible? What I would like to do is on the file structure for the disk have two folders, one Vista and one Dell Diags. When the disk is booted to it asks "What would you like to do" and I will have the option of choosing which I would like to do. I dont need to edit either of the boot options. It would actually be nice if both options were like having two separate disk's but without having to carry around both disk's. Vista's install files are around 2.5GB and the Dell Diag disk is only 386MB so it should fit on a DVD just fine. So my problem is that I'm not sure how to create the disk. Do I use the Boot image from my Vista Disk or my Dell Diag disk?
  22. If you already have the original discs, just use Read mode to create your image. It'll already be bootable that way without you having to mess around with anything.
  23. Hello All - Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out. I am trying to create some ISO images from bootable Windows install DVDs I have. I found where I instruct ImgBurn to 'Make Image Bootable,' but I do not know what extra steps I need to take to ensure the ISO will be bootable when created. Is there an image file I need to point ImgBurn to in order to allow the ISO to function in a bootable fashion? I need to be able to mount the image in a virtual machine so it boots into setup just as if I were to put the OEM bootable DVD in a physical drive upon booting? Thanks a lot, Miles
  24. Well I just tried to "read" it, but it keeps giving me this error. "Unable to create or write files" is what it says. Am I doing something wrong?
  25. I recently reinstalled Windows on my PC. On downloading the latest ImgBurn, I find that I can't burn directly in the 'build' mode for my VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS folder. I have to create the iso first then burn. In my other version of IMGburn, I could burn direct. Was this feature removed? Also, what's the best option for me to select for standalone DVD compatabolity? Thanks.
