  1. OK, I've ran into a seemingly tough one that PGCEdit choked on (I always run through PGCEdit before building with ImgBurn), but ImgBurn happily offers to allow selection of a layer break. In PGCEdit, the title layout where the split needs to be is listed in the first attached image below. You can see that the current layer break appears to be at cell 39, and the second angle is contained in cell 40, and has a selected, but grayed out LB flag. When I choose to create an ISO in PGCEdit, I receive the warning contained in the second attached image below. So, since I didn't understand that exactly, I simply tried to build the image in ImgBurn and received the dialog presented in the third attached image below. What's especially confusing about the selection of cells 39 or 40 is that it would appear to leave one angle on one side of the disc and the other angle on the other side of the disc. Also, shouldn't the cell times show in ImgBurn be the same for cells 39 and 40, as they are in PGCEdit? So, can I make a valid image with ImgBurn 2.1, or do I need to somehow make further adjustments? Thanks, Ford Man
  2. burntest.zipI have found the following. Creating a non-slipstream CD works fine. When performing the slipstream (update -s:<path>) some files and directories are lowercased. I've created 4 cd's. 3 with Imgburn and 1 with Nero. Imgburn fails only on the un-altered slipstreamed (not uppercased) files. This can be corrected by uppercasing at least de \i386 directory. Detailed screenshots and directory listing/logs are attached to this posting. Nero does not need altering to create a working slipstream CD. cd a: Plain XP burned with imgburn 2.1.0.0. works. cd b: Slipstream XP SP2 burned with imgburn 2.1.0.0. failed. usbehci.sys not found during charbased setup. cd c: Slipstream XP SP2 burned with imgburn 2.1.0.0 \i386 directory altered all files uppercased. works. cd d: Slipstream XP SP2 burned with Nero 6.6.1.4 unaltered. works. (works=booting and installing).
  3. Ok i bought this program tonight, as i used to use the free version each drive manufacturer provided. I bought it cos samsung/hitachi/fujitsu no longer provide this tool, and i was having issues with partition magic 8. Anyways i presumed it would allow me to create a dos version to prepare 2 sata2 hard drives a samsung 300 gig and hitachi 200 gig It only creates bootable floppy disc, now this would not be problem as i can use nero or imgburn to create ISO. Heres the problem though, it creates 2 floppy discs, the only difference with floppy 2 is DMZIP2, which is not on floppy one as floppy 1 is not big enough. There is nothing on floppy one i can delete to then put dmzip2 on. Am i missing the obvious here, or is there a way imgburn can sort this out. Long day, headache and tbh had enough been shitty day got ripped off with 4 gig of crappy memory from ebay as well thanks
  4. No, because ISO's limitation is it cannot be split into parts. So, unless you have NTFS, the cap is at 4 GB. And, no, I won't use NTFS, although I am tempted to create a blank NTFS partition of about 5 GB for uses like this. Then, I can hide it when it's not needed.
  5. I've been invoking ImgBurn 1.3 from PGCEdit (so I can create an ISO then immediately burn it) on Dual Layer discs with no prob. I recently installed ImgBurn 2.0.0.0 and so far it's failed and trashed the 4 DL discs I've tried to use - it fails all the 20 retries at the start, locks my drive, locks ImgBurn, and I have to reboot and bin the disc. I downgraded back to v1.3 at the weekend and have so far burnt 4 DL discs without failure, all from the same stock. So, I cannot burn DL discs with v2.0.0.0 PGCEdit already sets the layer break, and I tried burning a DL with the option not to update the IFO with the layer break, and after that created a coaster I tried it with the option on - but still got a coaster. If you need any further tech info, let me know. Make sure you tell me everything you need because I'm only prepared to waste one more DL disc helping you find the bug. I have a LiteOn SOHW-1653s with the CS0T firmware patched by codeguys, and am using Traxdata 2.x DL (which work perfect with ImgBurn v1.3, I've burnt about 8 with this so far with no fails, from 2 different stocks)
  6. its never going to decrypt anything but version 2.1 in the "Build Mode " will create an ISO
  7. Does it exist the option to create a ISO (mode ?iso-read) like in the DVD Decrypter?! Do you intent to add it to the Img Burn? Thanks!
  8. Last night I was using build mode to make a DVD with some homemade video footage. I select all the videofiles via the built-in filebrowser and a window pops up telling me: "You have only selected video files! Do they represent what should be in a VIDEO_TS folder bla bla". Quietly thanking LUK! for thinking about everything I reply "Yes". I then click the Burn DVD/Create ISO button, and I get prompted with the same question again?! It then proceeded to burn the DVD, and all was well - I just wonder whether it?s intentional to ask the same question twice during the same session...
  9. Lot's of folks with PC's download Linux distros and create the Linux disks so that they can image / ghost their existing PC, then install Linux in a dual-boot config. At least a lot of folks I know. Personally, I think the DAA format is totally lame. I think any proprietary format is lame. I also think that in general, DECOMPRESSION tools should be FREE (like PK Unzip was back in the day). Don't mind folks charging for the compressor, but just like CODECS, I think playback/decompression should be free. Even though I totally dig WinRAR, when I'm going to share files, I always do so in the ZIP format for maximum compatibility. I reserve RAR for personal archives that I need that extra bit of compression on. If Lightning UK was able to provide DAA decompression / conversion in ImgBurn, nobody would have to pay for PowerISO unless they wanted to get the compression features of that app. As it is, I have a bud or two that own PowerISO and they can convert it to ISO for me, so it's not that big of a deal I guess, but it sure seems an unnecessary hassle, don't you think?
  10. I wonder, whether this bug is fixed in a new version (2.1.0.0), so we can build correct DVD-Videos with 32k padding? I know, I should have all the update log read. I did it =) However, I'm not enough educated in this filed to be sure, that "Fixed: In Build mode, double layer images requiring a lot of padding (to make it 50/50) and at the same time making use of 32k gaps could end up with layer 1 being larger than layer 0 and layerbreak LBA positions shown in the 'Create layer break position' window would be wrong" is just the same problem as in this topic :-\ According to Log - the only thing left - to buy a HD DVD burner and anything'll be possible with ImgBurn! Thanks for an amazing programm, Lightning UK! ... once more.
  11. I'm seeing some .DAA archives being made with modified Linux distro's, etc. I don't create DAA myself, I just want to be able to convert it to a standard type of ISO, or BIN/CUE, or what not so I don't have to worry about others having to deal with getting PowerISO when I point them to the image. Kinda like how some people made all those ACE archives for things like GameCopyWorld and it was such a pain to deal with, ya know? Thanks.
  12. Surely it would just be easier to have the 'other' burning programs create an ISO image in the first place? Anyway, virtual drives aren't my thing.
  13. You need to convert the files from your camcorder to something that your DVD player would be able to read before loading the converted files (in BUILD mode) into ImgBurn. The program you need is "VSO DivxToDVD" which can be found HERE. Ensure you grab the old, free version. Once you've converted your camcorder file to DVD format (IFO, BUP and VOB files), open ImgBurn in BUILD mode and select the folder containing the DVD files. Hit BUILD and answer yes to the ROOT DIRECTORY question. Create an ISO file before burning with ImgBurn or burn your selection straight to disk. A detailed explanation of the ImgBurn building and burning process by Cornholio is available in the guides forum. Good luck.
  14. In the Create Layer Break Position window, Very Good star is a blue colour. But when one LBA set is highlighted, whatever star next to it changes to blue. Although not identical to the blue of Very Good, it's somewhat confusing at times, esp. for the green and what stars before highlighting. So, can the Very Good star be assigned another colour?
  15. I could use some help here, too, probably. The only times I've tried to create one, using a boot sector extracted from a Linux boot disc from an Acronis rescue media, I could get it to boot but not run the utilities afterwards.
  16. what did you use to create the ISO?

  18. I'm not trying to blame ImgBurn or anyone else, I'm just trying to find out what's happening. I'm impressed w/your software AND support and will be kicking in a donation sometime next week. This a ProShow Gold file that I worked on for several days and now I can't burn it. Since it's my VERY FIRST attempt to create a slideshow using ProShow Gold and also my VERY FIRST attempt to burn a DVD, I'm struggling. This is also on the ImgBurn page: Disc Information: Status: Complete Erasable: No Sessions: 1 Sectors: 192,298 Size: 393,826,304 bytes Time: 42:45:73 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 1x, 2x, 4x Pre-recorded Information: Manufacturer ID: CMC MAG. Not knowing anything about DVDs, I have hit the ProShow Gold forum and been told that a lot of others have burned larger files than I have, but I thought I'd ask here, too. Any help will be appreciated. E Hobbs
  19. Hobbs; I loaned my famous crystal ball to a band of gypsies and therefore have no idea what you are trying to burn to or how you set up the files for ImgBurn. What type of Media??? Please post a log from ImgBurn and maybe we can see what you did to create your problem. Edit: Great minds kev...
  20. I used to use DVDDecrypter and DVD Shrink to burn disks. Now I've reconfigured DVD Shrink to burn with Imgburn. But how do I use ImgBurn to replace DVDDecrypter to Decrypt/Create Video_TS file. I've read the guides on single layer and dual layer, but I guess I'm too much of a newbie - it seems these guides work only if you already have the Video_TS file made. I only know how to make that in DVDDecrypter. How do I use Imgburn to decrypt then burn dvds? (replace using DVDDecrypter and DVD Shrink)? I've looked at the FAQs, don't see the answer to this in simple terminology a newbie like me can understand.
  21. Hello. I have been reading several posts on these forums and I have not really been able to find my dual layer burning issue solution yet. I have attempted to backup the film Brick about 6 times on DL media (3 times on MKM 001 and 3 times on Ritek D01) . There have been horrible issues at the layer break with each burn. I never had a problem until I upgraded to ImgBurn 2.0. I believe it is Blutach's guide on burning DL media that I follow normally. Before 2.0, I would rip the disk with DVDFABDecrypter, then create the ISO with PGC edit. Often times I would not directly burn from PGC edit because my burns appeared to be better after restarting the computer and then burning the created ISO with ImgBurn. My burns were pretty good this way, even at 8x. My system is Windows XP Pro machine with a Benq 1640 (firmware BSQB, which has been good for me), Athlon64 socket 754 3700, 1 gig of ram, and a Benq 1620 (used for ripping). I am running the newest PGC edit as well. I also turned off the 32k padding after three coasters when reading that from a post. With this film , I tried a couple ways to burn the iso. I tried creating it from the build portion of ImgBurn and then burning the ISO by selecting the MDS file (burn was at 2.4X) - This turned out horrific. I also tried having PGC edit call up ImgBurn and have the burn (2.4X) go that way. The first scan is that bad burn and the log before it goes with that bad burn. The other scan is of a DL burn that went well at 8x before the upgrade to 2.0 (it was still an ImgBurn creation) Other than the upgrade to the newest PGCedit and ImgBurn, I can't think of anything different in my computer setup. Please let me know what other info I need to provide to see if my problem can be solved. I have never used six discs and had them all be failures. Thank you for any help that you can provide. 22. First of all, I luv the new version. The ability to create images is just the ticket. Great work LUK and team! Since I was very much looking forward to this new feature, I wanted to try it out right away. I tried specifying a particular date and time that I wanted on the folders in my build. However, the time that I specified (8:44) is not the time that ended up on the folders (9:44). Here is a screen shot of the folders when viewed in Explorer after having mounted the image with Daemon Tools: Am I doing something wrong, or could this be a small bug in the program?
  23. I was just about to post back after creating a test image with Nero which preserved the folder dates, but you beat me to it. Thanks for changing it. Got confused. It's actually the ISO created by LC that has 1 block less, so I guess that has a problem since all other apps I used to create a test image had 1 more than it. From my tests with other apps, IB is not only "The Ultimate Image Burner" but also the "The Fastest Image Builder". IB was at least 1 minute faster (and often more) when creating a 2.7GB ISO, and is also less disk intensive (no doubt due to the buffering) Re. the "create ISO from disc" and "copy disc" (create ISO from disc followed by burning X number of copies) features requested by myself and others, I can't see what the legal problems of implementing them would be (if that's the main reason for your reluctance) since the capability to do both is already present in IB. It's just that some of the automation is missing at the moment (ie. it requires a bit more manual intervention to achieve). Just a thought
  24. I've been playing around with using IB to create an ISO from a previously burnt DVD-R. The disc has the ISO + Joliet + UDF file-systems. On the disc are 2 root folders, each containing a few files. The problem is that in the resultant ISO, the date of both root folders on all 3 file-systems have the current date instead of the date of the root folders on the disc. The files within both root folders all have the correct date equivalent to their respective counterparts on the disc. I have the Folder/File Dates setting set to "Use File Date & Time". Is this a bug ? On a slightly different note, I was using LCISOCreator to create an ISO of the same disc so I could compare the two ISO's created by IB and LC. Aside from the root folder dates being "incorrect" on IB, the number of blocks was 1 less for the ISO created with IB. Any ideas why ? EDIT: BTW, IB was about twice as fast at creating the ISO!
  25. Hello. ImgBurn looks like a great program, but I'm having a little trouble burning image files from a CD to my hard drive. I've been through the user guides already and am still having an issue. I'm guessing it is something very simple that I'm doing wrong. In short, when I try to create an image file to my hard disk from a CD, the issue is that the directory structure appears to be written to the image file but NONE of the actual files are written. When the Image Information shows up, I get 469 folders to be written but 0 files. There are lots of files on the CD I'm trying to make an image of. Here are some configuration options I have selected: -- ISO 9660 + UDF -- Level X - 219 characters -- Allow more than 8 directory levels -- Allow more than 255 characters in path -- full pathnames -- recursive subdirectories. -- include hidden files -- include system files -- include archive files I've added a screen shot in case it helps. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help. Dave
