I have an optiarc AD-7240S. It's brand new, just installed yesterday.

I have burned two verbatim DVD+R DL disks. Both turned out fine, except while I was burning them, the device buffer would quickly drop to zero, then build back up. It did this about every 20 seconds during the entire burn. The system buffer never dropped at all.

Is this normal for dual layer disks on this drive?

Post the graph data file too please (or a screenshot having opened it in DVDInfoPro/BurnPlot/Opti Drive Control).

so, it's normal for the device buffer to drop to zero when it's performing the OPC? Only reason I ask, is with my older IDE pioneer drive the buffers always stayed at max

I forgot to say i'm running on windows 7.

Thanks
