TheShadowRunner Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Hey All, I don't like the looks of the splash screen and would like to disable it. I'm not looking for extra launch speed as i know it does stuffs in the background while the splash screen is shown anyway. I just don't like the looks of it. Is there a registry key somewhere or a trick to hide it? Later, TSR
blutach Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 No. It is shown when the program is loading and doing stuff in the background. What's more, I think the ImgBurn splash screen is really cool. If you hate splash screens, try splashkiller - http://www.digitallis.co.uk/ Regards
lmao2k Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Only reason I could see for hiding it would be to maybe run it without the user being aware. My suggestion would be to load it and simultaneously close your eyes, then you won't know its there.

chewy Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 get a faster computer mine only shows for less than a second and I have a relatively slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww one
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 So you don't like the decent new one but were ok with the previous 'box' one? On principle, I don't want to remove it (it serves a purpose) but I might allow reverting to the old style for those of you who prefer the simple things in life.
spinningwheel Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 3458 registered users, a zillion downloads of the program...... and 1 guy with an esthetics problem....I wonder if Nero would offer to change their splash screen looks for an end user???? What a Boss
JasonFriday13 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Mine shows for about 2.41745 seconds (approximately). @Imao2k
bootsector Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 LoL! One more vote for the "eye closing" solution! Just leave the Splash Screen alone! It's gorgeous, delicious!
lfcrule1972 Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I much prefer the new splash screen - surely the request of one won't see it's demise Lightning ?
chewy Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I guess I am going to have to fragment my drive or multitask more intensively, I never get a good look at it, sure does look fancy.
lfcrule1972 Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I only see it for a sec or so Chewy....
polopony Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 its so fast its subliminal ,explains me chanting IMGburn, must have IMGburn all day long
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Pretty much, yup. It just has 'loading, please wait...' under it too.
Groundrush Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 its so fast its subliminal ,explains me chanting IMGburn must have IMGburnall day long Ahh...!!! Now it all makes sense.... =))
TheShadowRunner Posted September 19, 2006 Author Posted September 19, 2006 Yeah actually i prefer the old one. Although i won't stop using this absolutely awesome program if you don't do anything about it! This program rocks beyond words, is free and is far better than all its commercial rivals! Later, TSR
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Messing with splashscreen config is made more complex because it's displayed before cli parameters are parsed and the settings are loaded (be it from the registry or the CLI configured INI file) etc. So yeah, I think I'll just leave it as it is.
blutach Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I say again, splashkiller will do the job for you no worries. It's a tiny freeware app (40kb or something), runs in the systray and is configurable for those apps you don't want to kill the splashscreen (e.g ImgBurn ) Regards

(Like some other programs have, isobuster, goldwave, etc..) No need to put an option _inside_ the program really, but using /nosplash in the shortcut would suppress it. war59312 Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Still no? Please add command line option? Please, in Christmas spirit.
