Grain Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 You don't have another program running that's accessing your drive(s) do you?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Does explorer see your drives? i.e. are they visible in 'My Computer' ? You've probably got a dodgy filter driver installed that's messing everything up.

You've probably got a dodgy filter driver installed that's messing everything up. I think you are probably right about the filter..what would I do to fix this? When I look at the filters in ImgBurn, it shows CD/DVD ROM device and then about of N/A's next to version information. I don't know how this happened or why...I burnt a disc successfully last night before I went to bed...can you give me some insight on how to fix this? I am pretty new at dealing with problems like these.. Thanks in advance!
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 You didn't actually answer my question though did you When you're in the filter drivers screen, hit the 'clipboard' button and then paste it into your next post. You might like to try doing what it says in the FAQ when it talks about DMA issues - i.e. uninstall the ide controller from device manager and reboot.
FAD123 Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 Lightning UK!, my apologies..lol.. Wasn't sure how to do that until you kindly instructed me how to in your last response.....Here is what you asked for originally..You are right, when I go into My Computer, it's like my cd/dvd-rom device has totally disappeared...Called Dell, since it's a Dell XPS 200 Desktop and they have advised me to back everything like photos and music and docs up and do a system restore which would wipe all of that stuff out, but reconnect my device...seems awful drastic to me....Can you offer a suggestion? Would be most grateful! =============================================== Filter Driver Load Order - ImgBurn v2.3.2.0 =============================================== Upper Device Filter: redbook Upper Class Filter: GEARAspiWDM Device: CD/DVD-ROM Device Lower Class Filter: DLACDBHM Lower Class Filter: DRVMCDB Lower Class Filter: PxHelp20 Lower Device Filter: imapi Filter Name: redbook File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\redbook.sys File Version: 5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158) File Description: Redbook Audio Filter Driver Product Name: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Product Version: 5.1.2600.2180 Company Name: Microsoft Corporation Copyright: © Microsoft Corporation. LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 No, what I asked originally was are the drives visible in 'My Computer'. You included that info in the last post anyway so it's all good Ok, go back into the filter drivers screen, click on each of the following and then delete them via the delete/remove button. DLACDBHM DRVMCDB i.e. so you're left with: Upper Device Filter: redbook Upper Class Filter: GEARAspiWDM Device: CD/DVD-ROM Device Lower Class Filter: PxHelp20 Lower Device Filter: imapi Reboot the PC and see what happens. Don't forget to uninstall the controller via device manager too - as per the DMA post in the FAQ.
