hunterdgm Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Hi, new to this, l would like to burn a movie to DVD, how do l go about this, is there some free software that would allow me to do this, so l can watch it on my personal DVD player, not just the computer. Thanks
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 What format is your movie in? If it's not already in DVD Video format (i.e. a VIDEO_TS folder containing IFO/VOB/BUP files), you'll need to convert it so that it is. To do that you can use something like DVD Flick or ConvertXtoDVD.
LOCOENG Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Avoid Nero, use DVD Flick as it's free...guide ~ http://www.dvdflick.net/guide/index_en.html If you are interested in payware use ConvertXtoDVD as suggested by LUK.
blutach Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Other than that, follow the guides on how to burn a DVD. Regards
Streek Dime Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Is there any other program than DVDFlick thats faster and as good or better? I love DVDFlick but it honestly look me over 1.5 hours to convert my .avi to DVD movie files. How is ConvertXDVD compared to DVDFlick? If it's better, I don't mind buying it.
Streek Dime Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Yeah nvm it's $40. I was fine with $20 or something ... $40 is a bit high especially when DVDFlick is free
500amps Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 convertxtodvd takes me about 1hr to put to dvd format p4 3ghz 1 Gb ram windows xp
chuckycheese Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Hi all, I am totally new to burning dvds. I have both Imgburn and DVDflick. I saw an online tutorial video in which the person tells us to first use dvdflick to convert the movie into a VIDEO_TS folder, and then use the 'build' function in Imgburn to build it into an ISO file. Then burn the ISO to a dvd. Is the 'build' function necessary? When I used to burn vcds, Nero burned the MPEG file directly into vcd without needing to make an ISO. Thank you.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 DVD Flick uses ImgBurn for burning and Nero will of course use it's own engine for burning and it'll be part of the conversion program. You don't need to make an ISO, you can burn on the fly. It's still done in Build mode but you set the 'Output' to 'Device' rather than 'Image File'.
LOCOENG Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 s the 'build' function necessary? Build mode is for everything that isn't an image....so if you don't create an ISO and you want something on your disc, the you'll have to use build mode.
