  1. Ah, Nuts & Bolts! There's a blast from the past! I still have my Nuts & Bolts Platinum disc, somewhere. Bought, when was it? 1998? 2000? Next, I'll be reliving memories of QEMM, RamDoubler, and that infamous SoftRAM that tricked you into thinking it was working.

    Vote for Arnie!

We aim to please! And, as the plaques over the urinals say: "Would you aim, too, please?" (Nipped from Benny Hill. )

    Vote for Arnie!

If memory serves me correctly, Arnold Schwarzenegger is going to be running for re-election as the governor of California. I would like to offer a few suggestions for slogans for him to employ in these final hours before voting day: Vote for me if you want to live! Terminator 4 MORE YEARS! Are you Sarah Connor? Are you registered to vote? You're NOT?! Hasta la vista, baby! I'll be back... but ONLY if you vote for me! Are you a legal immigrant? The Governator could use your vote! Are you an illegal immigrant? No habla Engles? No problem-o! I am now, like everyone else in my party is at election times, entirely, 100% for building a wall between the U.S., and remember that's the US!, and Mexico. Are you an illegal immigrant? GET OUT!
  4. Heard these lyrics on the Dr. Demento Show and, of course, thought of this thread immediately afterwards. http://spaff.com/poesy/madmax.html Mad Max got pulled over by a Hebrew Speeding down the coast on Thursday night You can say that Mel's an alcoholic But I think he was blitzed on Vegemite!
  5. This could very well be one of those "Only in X, folks!" type of situation. But, what's a good way to prevent a patient from overdosing on medication? Use rocket fuel! http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/news/15833635.htm Pill bottle could deter drug abuse Dispenser would incinerate contents if dosage exceeded Basically, the idea is you put the pills next to a mickey of rocket fuel so that if a person tries to forcibly take more than the dose out of the bottle, it will IGNITE the pills and destroy them! Am I the only one who sees a problem here? What about contamination with the medicine? Or if the system goes off due to a false positive?

Oh, please, please, PLEASE! If you're going to put me out of my misery, don't make it look like a suicide! Please behind evidence so people will know that their predictions, prophecies, and opinions of me did not come to pass! That I did not take my life by me own hand! It seems slightly more dignified that way than to make it look like I went out in this fashion
  7. I wanted to see that when it came out. I figured coming from the same screen writer who penned the Dawn Of The Dead remake, it should be good for a few jolts.

    Weirdness

Well, it's only named after what I do in real life.
  9. My schedule is just now activating. Every 4 weeks, for a few days, 2 drives a day get defragged.
  10. Yes, I will agree that Opera does have a way to at least report bugs. But, I've seen many that are still present years later after reporting. Calm down there, dragon dear. Put your TARDIS back in your time vortex. If it counts as canon, there was a female Cyber Controller or something to that effect in Big Finish Production's Reel Time. Plus, the two female to Cyberman conversions from 2006 episodes themselves. I would like to see it HINT HINT! just because I'd love to have complete collections of all things Dalek and Cybermen. Speaking of Torchwood and Cybermen, am I the only one who thinks the marching sound Cybermen make sounds suspiciously and strangely like the phrase "Torchwood?" Anyone remember Captain Power And The Soliders Of The Future? Had the writers had their way and the show producers had had theirs and the 2nd season was made, the character of Morganna II was probably going to have the first cybersex scene in TV history. BTW, I can't help but notice the bit of psychoanalyzing of me going on above there. I'd be interested in it, why, specifically? Just BECAUSE the cyber being in female? You're implying a sort of Sorayama fetish? Granted, I'd love to be able to rid my brain of this house of pain we call the body, but, here's always been the problem of men writing stories about female robots. They always sexualize them in some way... which goes entirely counterintuative to the very concept of robots. For instance, let's start with WHY? Why adopt any kind of sexual connotation to start with? In a war between humans and robots, look at it logically. Two humans get together and through a messy, complicated, and possibly fatal process, it takes 18 years for these 2 to create an effective fighting soldier. Imagine how many of its own kind 2 machines could build in just 18 DAYS. So, no, in the end, such attributes used in such stories are just unfulfilled adolescent fantasies being made real.
  11. Speaking of MusicMatch; Was doing my monthly update checks and saw that Yahoo! has bought up MusicMatch. It's now called, get a load of this, folks, the highly creative Yahoo! Music Jukebox. What does anyone want to bet that my 10 years of free updates and tech support since I bought a license around 1997 suddenly goes out the window?
  12. Interesting. As I was typing the above reply, an Australian related answer showed up on Jeopardy! About the kookaburra.
  13. Wow... vegemite made it into a contestant's answer on Jeopardy! yesterday! She was wrong, but, it definitely triggered a memory for me of this thread.
  14. Wow, I got some replies. Seems others were aware of it. Even Opera somewhat acknowledged it. But, the entry only says the problem was for 8585 as a generic error; it's been a problem ever since Version 9.0 was released. http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic...#comment1807234
  15. The simple answer is Opera has a bug in it somewhere. The weekly builds are notorious for releasing versions where X page suddenly stops working. I was always worried about such programming methods... HOW this escaped notice ever since version 9.0 started, though...
  16. Ah, yes, those times when we dig through the junk and are amazed what we find. I still have that 8 inch floppy disk somewhere that I salvaged from someone else's junk and kept it as a souvenir. And the ancient board for an 8088 that added a parallel printer port to the device. And the wand barcode reader. Reminds me that I one time possessed the ANCIENT version of the DexDrive for the Playstation, the one that wrote to 3.5 floppy disks! Hooked up directly to the Memory Card slot on the Playstation and required its own power supply. The floppies could only hold 3 saves! Sucker cost me $99!

    Weirdness

Yep. Clearing the cache, as predicted, did the trick.

    Weirdness

Yeah, and with the recent 2.0 release, I'd have to expect some problems, probably.

    Weirdness

I was constructing my reply and file apparently while you were replying. So, fair's fair. You admitted you were wrong, so, I recant my gleeful rubbing it in. But, do take a look at the file to show I didn't do this on my own. I agree that refreshing the cache should help this. Like with the board's tendency there a while back in Firefox to not properly render pages.

    Weirdness

In fact, since I can prove it by recreating it and capturing the video, why not display that? Chew on this, unbeliever! http://www.uploading.com/files/JY729CGX/Vi..._WEEP_.avi.html

    Weirdness

I won't, of course, be able to convince you this happened entirely on its own because you have already formed your opinion that cannot be swayed. It did. End of story. I knew where it came from because I frequent TV.COM a lot and it displays clips, etc. as part of its front interface based on the shows in your Favorites list. But, let me ask you this. If I so easily cropped in a replacement image, how come there are no tell tale signs of inserted cropped images, like there always are when others here have tried to fake them in the past? No compression, no fuzzy edges. Now, you DO bring up something interesting I cannot explain, as it is impossible, but is another error all together... for some inexplicable reason, I HAD to trim the error window out of the screen capture. Because, on MY screen, the only part of the image displayed is the smilies window. BUT, the original image when uploaded to the site host, displayed the ENTIRE desktop contents. THAT one even I'm at a loss to explain. The other one is easy as the smilies list is supposed to always be downloaded and the animated GIF's inserted into the placeholders. That one, though, of mysteriously disappearing one place and reappearing others content, though...

    Weirdness

Take a look at this upcoming image... MAN! Some kind of weird effect occurred in my cache briefly, it seems. Take a look at this screen shot, displaying some of the Smilies available for use here. Notice that clapping has become a shot from TV.COM for the episode of King Of Hill called Bobby Goes Nuts. And, WHAT a shot it is!
  23. I considered releasing my contents on the Princos also after all the work and no joy You know? Releasing your contents in that way was considered a sin in the bible...
