@Shamus. Which firmware you got in on your pioneer 109. ? And regardless of which firmware you got in, have you ever had discs failing to start to burn, ie @ about 23*-seconds it should go from leadin to write image, it even goes over a couple of minutes and is not writing anything so i have to cancel, does this with a few diff kinds of media, this is with the old program you were beta on.. just curious to see if this happened to you, thanks Im using 1.58 i think whichever is latest.

They are using 4 speed CDRW. Does you xp install disc work, With you saying explorer takes a while to open the disc, It may be that your nec does not like the BASF cdrw your using.. If you have trouble ie slow install using your nec to boot the xp cd install, if you have another cdrom drive in your computer try booting from that one instead of the NEC. Or burn a cdr using imgburn and the same xp install iso and see if that goes any better, as in will explorer open this cdr better than the cdrw you used, you will then know if it is just a case of the media or the burner etc.

With a bent pin you could easily get away with various results, but with no pin at all, the device will more than likely fail at most tasks, all of the time.

Stands to reason if you break it, it won't work. Pin 21 DMARQ or it's absence. Multiword DMA is a data transfer protocol used with the READ DMA, WRITE DMA, READ DMA QUEUED, WRITE DMA QUEUED, and PACKET commands. When a Multiword DMA transfer mode has been set via the SET FEATURES 03h subcommand, this data transfer protocol shall be used for the data transfers associated with these commands. Signal timing for this protocol is described in 10.2.3. The DMARQ and DMACK- signals are used to signify when a Multiword DMA transfer is to be executed. The DMARQ and DMACK- signals are also used to flow control a Multiword DMA data transfer. When a device is ready to transfer data associated with a Multiword DMA transfer, the device shall assert DMARQ. The host shall then respond by asserting DMACK-, negating CS0- and CS1-, and begin the data transfer by asserting, then negating, DIOW- or DIOR- for each word transferred. could it not be that the imapi task is being opened/ closed by vso software on start /exit of their software. dunno what their software is like or even if it is an imapi complient CD burning package. possibly try this right click on your dvd writer and untick Enable CD recording on this drive. could be a device driver conflict as well which can be tricky to track down.. just some thoughts.

I would say Shamus is right as a DvdMaestro Project File does have the *.DVD file extension and therefore it's inclusion in Imgburn would make sense.

yeah i know that, but i got time on my hands to do that, which was my point, someone saying you cannot edit iso in shrink is wrong. yes i know you have to then re create iso...i don't mind the 1minute 23 second wait... I cannot see anything wrong with using shrink in any mode, i think its the 2nd best program on the internet. i maybe missing your point about read only though, as in, did someone give a set of circumstances where they need an iso to be anything other.

there were not normal mailing list emails, it was personal correspondence from a guy there called simon, about my free gift. but it got sorted a day later.

strange that when i use shrink i can take ads out of iso, though i have a lot of time on my hands, i am also not the type of person to stand in front of 1 minute microwave meal and tell the dam machine to hurry up.

or instead of taking 4 hours to convert to iso, think about using say shrink or any other program that is capable to create iso images as the output instead of video_ts folders

or add a couple of items to the registry so that nero will show buffer and write speed nero reg right click and merge or just double click on it... do this at your own risk...

Did not think nero did burning to 2 discs at same time, yeah i know there is option use multiple recorders, but that only ever presents me with a choice of which burner i want to use to make copy, though it may burn to 2 discs at same time, i suppose if i enter number of copies as 2..never tried it. Padus discjuggler was the only burning software i ever used that allowed me to make or rather burn the same project to 2 burners at the same time..
