Yeah I am aware of the TNT components and whilst I'm sure they'd do the trick, it's an awful lot of work switching it all over. That of course would only deal with the components on the forms, I then need to change every instance of 'AnsiString' to WideString within existing code (and there's a LOT of them!). WideString is also missing a lot of the functionality of the AnsiString so I'd need it write extra functions for all that too. So basically, it's just too much work for me to at the moment

UDF 1.02 as that's what DVD Video requires. Unicode, no. Long labels, yes. Borland's development environment is all ansi still I'm afraid and so whilst I have based the image building code around unicode storage types (internally, WideString rather than AnsiString), it'll actually run in ansi mode. Nope, no name change. Just ImgBurn v2.

It wasn't so much the wrong place, just it easier for me to double check I've fixed things if the bugs forum only has real (confirmed) bugs in it. Ok well if you don't use incd, I'd uninstall it. Any additional driver the commands has to pass through before reaching the drive is another place for things to go wrong. If you don't intend to use the built in windows burning stuff, disable imapi in services. When you burn your next disc, press F8 before it normally hangs. That will enable some additional I/O debug logging. I'll then be able to see exactly which command it's up to before the machine gets stuck.

Well I'm pretty confident it's not a general bug so I hope you don't mind if I move this to the support forum. When you see the program supposedly crashing, what does it say in the status bar? That'll tell you roughly what it was trying to do the last time it sent a command to the drive. The program is actually still working fine at these times, it's just waiting for a response to the command. As you've seen, when programs wait for I/O calls to finish processing, the entire system also waits. If that call ever came back (either as an error or successful), I bet the machine would spring back to life. You may have some nasty filter drivers installed that are screwing up the I/O path so that would be one of the things I'd check. Take a look at 'Filter Driver Load Order v1.0.006' from http://www.bustrace.com/downloads/free_utilities.htm

Ah ok sorry, I was just hoping you hadn't! For it not to log any entries, the function that does the capturing of graph data must have crashed for some reason. If it was just a 1 off problem, forget about it. If it happens all the time, please let me know and maybe we can work something out as to which part of that function is really causing the issue. As the verify bit runs almost identical code, I suspect it was a 1 off. Depending on how the drivers traverse the buses, your drives may well get given different scsi id's. It doesn't mean a great deal though so don't worry about it!

Assuming you mean it says: '[File name]' This file exists with Read Only attributes Please use a different file name. I have now fixed this, cheers for reporting it. It actually effects every 'Open' dialog box so you'd have seen it everwhere that lets you open a file!

If you use Write mode and then Verify mode, Verify mode will overwrite the previous IBG data. You have to do it via the 'Verify' checkbox on the 'Write' mode main screen. They use a shared instance of an internal IBG structure - all modes do actually. Auto Export is handy here because you know you won't lose anything ever Regarding the 8x DL media, yeah they're epensive. I just got these for testing purposes. I think they were about ?15 for 5, and like you say, you can get 10 2.4x ones for that.

Nope, not a thing. The program always sends data as fast as the drive will accept it. As you've seen from your own logs, the drive knows it should be burning at 6x, it's just slowing itself down for some reason. Oh, I tried 10x burning on MKM-003-00 too. That was fine at 10x. Well, I say 'fine', it worked but didn't scan too well compared to some I've done on normal 2.4x discs (even overspeeding to 6x).
