  1. "impossible to install" ? Any of the 3 things mentioned above in OpenCandy's FAQ will work. You can also just open the setup file in 7-zip and drag out the ImgBurn.exe file if you so wish - replacing the one in 'Program Files\ImgBurn' from a previous installion.
  2. Nothing is 'bundled' now, the OpenCandy platform used in the most recent installer (rather than the fixed/bundled 'Ask.com' toolbar) makes product offerings and installs whatever you opt in to or don't opt out off. ImgBurn as an actual program hasn't changed, so your feelings about it shouldn't change either. You only install it once, you use it x number of times.
  3. Copy + paste the disc info from the box on the right when you're in Write mode please.
  4. ...potentially being offered by the installer downloaded from the **official imgburn site**, imgburn.com...
  5. They wrap loads of installers, stop using download.com if you want to avoid that. It's not an official mirror, so I guess that makes it unofficial.

  9. Thank you but I'm not seeing any attachment here... ?
  10. You'd have to ask your security company as to why it's slow with 2.5.8.0. They must be treating the exe with extreme caution and perhaps checking each registry change in an online database or something? They 'know' about the 2.5.7.0 exe and probably added an exception for it to their definitions. 2.5.8.0 is obviously a new exe and therefore will need to be excluded by them too. This issue has come up before when 2.5.7.0 was first released. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=20050 UPX is just an exe compression tool. Like zip etc for normal files, except upx'd exe file can still be executed.
  11. Again, it's not 'hanging', it's just being slowed down (in a major way) by something on your PC. If you run Sysinternals 'Process Monitor' and filter it to only look at ImgBurn.exe, I bet you'll see it logging that ImgBurn.exe is writing out 1 setting to the registry every second or so. I've seen this exact problem before - see here - http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=20050
  12. Here's a version without UPX compression on the EXE file. http://download.imgburn.com/SetupImgBurn_2.5.8.0_NoUPX.exe
  13. No, downloadhoasters.com is nothing to do with me and it's not one of the official mirror sites. If you installed a toolbar or whatever and you didn't mean to / don't want it, try just removing it via the normal 'add/remove programs' / 'programs and features' within Control Panel.
  14. They aren't really important. USB speeds are as they limit the speed a drive can burn at. SATA 1 is quick enough for everything.
  15. You've associated WinRAR with ISO files, that's all. Go into its settings and uncheck the .ISO file association box. You can also right click the .ISO files and select 'open with' and then select a new default program to use.
  16. Look at the actual video content around those points. If the scene changes at the layer break, you won't notice it. If it's in the middle of a fast moving action scene, you will. If SPLIP is 'no', it's an indication that position was the original layer break point - therefore it scores extra points.
  17. That should not be happening and I can't see OpenCandy or AVG allowing such a thing. The specific offers are nothing to do with me.
  18. It takes too much time and there are proper sites dedicated to that kind of thing.
  19. Because it's old and security tools add special exceptions for known programs (specific versions of programs). I haven't changed anything to do with saving the settings and I've seen this same issue with previous releases - it's just something else installed on your PC that's causing the problem. You can de/un-upx the EXE and the problem will probably go away.
  20. Does it run in safe mode? It must be something running on your PC that's blocking access to it.
  21. Like the one you posted earlier, but in its native 16x16 format (the one you see when Explorer is set to 'Details' view), it doesn't look quite as nice.
  22. Well, I say iTunes, it's used by loads of programs that have some sort of burning feature in them - but iTunes is probably the most common one (that I know of). Maybe I did fix something in 2.5.8.0?!
