  1. Opencandy isn't something that installs. It potentially merges an 'offer' screen or two into the regular program installation. If you don't want what it offers, just opt out of installing them.
  2. This is just due to Microsoft's implementation of the 'Mount' context menu entry... it's rubbish. As soon as anything else is added as an option is just seems to disappear. I'm pretty sure that the first time I came across this problem, the 'Mount' option was still on the 'Open With' sub menu.

  4. If it's only just started happening, maybe you're using a dodgy cable / port? Have any driver updates gone on recently?
  5. Have you tried with a speed other than 2x? That might not be a good one for your drive/firmware/media combo... faster speeds might actually produce better quality (and less prone to a complete failure) discs. As for the buffer thing, well that's down to your machine. It took 8 seconds to fill the program's 512MiB buffer so that seems fine but it then took over a minute for activity on your hdd to settle down. Is the machine busy with other stuff? Maybe something like a defrag was kicking in or something.
  6. No BD drive I've ever used has enabled defect management by default on a new BD-R disc. I've never seen a command to disable it, it's enabled automatically when a disc formatted with spare areas enabled is inserted - and like I said before, the bd-r discs should have those disabled by default, you need to issue a format command to enable them. There's no format command to disable them.
  7. Don't waste another disc by trying to erase/format it. If the program says it needs formatting then something about your drive/system is reporting that it's a DVD+RW disc - when of course it isn't. That's the problem you need to fix before going any further. Try going into safe mode, load the program and switch to write mode. See what's listed as the 'current profile' in the disc info text on the right. It needs to say DVD+R.
  8. Why are you trying to erase/format a DVD+R disc? They're 'write once' discs and aren't supposed to be erased/formatted. Whilst I have your attention, update the firmware on your drive to UL06. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/iHAP122%2B8/files.html
  9. Many happy returns of the day, Cynthia
  10. Thanks for the report. I'd taken to using an incorrect value as part of other changes and that value was wrong. It has been fixed for the next release.
  11. Turn off the 'capture graph data' option in the settings, that's the bit that seems to make it run into the compiler bug.
  12. The only format offered for BD-R is with spare areas enabled (enabling defect management). For some reason, your drive is enabling that by default and I don't know of any way to disable it.
  13. You're only saying that because you have a faulty drive. You should actually be thankful there's even a 'Retry' option for hdd I/O at all, I could have just made the program terminate the current operation when it ran into such issues. I expect perfect read/writes to and from a hdd... the program's focus is with optical drives so they're the devices it has error handling built in for. Yes I could of course implement auto retries to hdd I/O but I really don't think I should have to. My advice would be to stop using your flaky external hdd.
  14. When the OS is allowed to cache the read/writes, it can speed up the maximum transfer rates - so less buffering issues etc. It's really up to you how you want to configure it.
  15. No, sorry. I can't see why that message coming up would stop the program from letting you select a different drive. If they're in the drop down box, you should be able to select them. Your selection will be remembered and restored the next time you start the program. p.s. that FAQ entry doesn't apply here.
  16. Don't listen to what Windows says, actually go to the manufacturer's website and download the current ones for your chipset. Does it come up with exactly the same error in safe mode btw?
  17. Sorry, there's no auto retry method in place when reading files from your hdd.
  18. Are you quite sure you've been playing DivX discs on your standalone player? That's not a proper DVD Video disc and so some players won't play it. If you want a proper DVD video disc, convert your files using something like DVD Flick or ConvertXtoDVD.
  19. Your drive many not support the booktype commands. If it did, the program would change it to DVD-ROM for that drive anyway. You don't need to do anything manually.
  20. I've no idea about this, sorry. Are you doing anything to the BD-R discs when you put them in the drive? Like formatting them or whatever? It seems your drive is enabling defect management on them by default, hence the smaller available capacity. Are there any firmware updates available for it?
  21. It isn't related to the new version. It's caused by a compiler bug that only seem to trigger for some people and I can't do anything to fix it - I've never seen it in all the times I've used the program.
  22. I don't know if Windows 7 has a UEFI boot loader on the CD or not. The guide would have been written with 80x86 in mind so just stick with that.
  23. Erm... no.
  24. Yup, that's it. Ok so it's on an AMD/ATI controller. Have you tried updating the motherboard/chipset/controller drivers? Can you check to see if it works in 'Safe Mode' ?
