Buffer 100% and then stuck at Writing LeadIn
LIGHTNING UK! replied to dbrink7's topic in ImgBurn Support
Either because your machine stops processing I/O requests or your drive is having trouble burning to the discs - try with the other 'supported' write speeds or with better discs. -
DS8A5SH isn't in the database.
-
Tools -> drive is disabled until you're in a 'mode'. So get the program in write mode and then try again.

http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 You're using a mega old version of the ImgBurn too... not sure why?

You'll need to run any avi/wmv files through DVD Flick first so it can make a nice DVD compliant set of files (IFO/BUP/VOB files). Then burn those with ImgBurn. As DVD Flick can automatically burn with ImgBurn, it's probably easier if you just install the latest version of ImgBurn (currently 2.5.7.0) and then copy the 'ImgBurn.exe' file from 'c:\program files\ImgBurn' into the DVD Flick folder and replace the older 2.4.4.0 version that exists there. That way, DVD Flick will be using the latest version. I don't remember DVD Flick's GUI but I'd assume there's a checkbox to enable the 'Verify' option in ImgBurn when it burns. Make sure that's enabled and post ImgBurn's log once DVD Flick has finished re-encoding your files and called up ImgBurn to burn+verify the disc.

You need the right hardware to burn the oversized XGD3 images. Have a look at some xbox related forums that deal with this kind of thing... this forum (ImgBurn support) doesn't.

Device not ready (Medium not present - Tray closed )...why?

The drive I mean, not the discs... try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc - it's what's having the problem recognising various blanks. -

I'm probably not the best person to ask that question. Take a look at the reviews / results over at the MyCE forums. The members of that forum do a lot of testing with different drives and different media. -

You drive doesn't seem to be able to recognise and initialise the discs you're putting in it. Can it read original (pressed) discs ok? -
'Running' it isn't exactly the same as attempting to read every single sector on it. Like I said, if you have access to some other drives, try to read the disc in those. Some will get hung up on discs that others have no problem at all with.
-
Unless you try a few more of those discs, how can you rule it out as being faulty? Likewise with the drive? Some are better readers than others. As for copy protection, you'd have to ask the people that produced/manufactured the disc.

Just went from Verb MKM001 to MKM003 now can't get a good burn

I wouldn't have made them if I didn't think you should use them. -

The WH14NS40 isn't what I'd call a real LG drive... it was their first attempt with a different chipset and probably not a very good one. I did say to try a different write speed though and I can see you just used 3x (which isn't even an option) again. -
ImgBurn burns exactly what you give it. The picture quality / sharpness therefore comes from the source files and is nothing to do with the burning util you use. Take the disc burnt with Pinnacle (and assuming the files are actually ok), copy the files back to your hdd and then burn them using ImgBurn - so then all things are equal.
-
That log showed nothing useful from ImgBurn. It was just you starting and then closing the program.

You have a lot of buffering issues. Either your machine is really slow or you're taxing the source drive too much whilst also attempting to burn. Try burning in your other LG drive if that one is having problems burning to the 'VERBAT-IMe-000' media. Other write speeds may also produce better results. -
The drive just can't read the disc. Try another drive if you can, it may do a better job. If they all fail to read it at the same point, you either have a faulty disc or it's copy protected.

Turn off 'overspeed', perform a 'clear opc history' operation, re-enable Burnproof and then try again. -
XP setup with SP3 disc building problem
LIGHTNING UK! replied to sherry52's topic in ImgBurn Support
It sounds like you did something wrong when extracting the boot image. That 'you cannot save...' message would only come up if you're trying to create a boot image of something like your hdd and save it to that same hdd. Just make sure you're extracting from the optical drive and saving to the same drive you've copied the setup files to. You certainly shouldn't be selecting an optical drive as the 'save to' location for the boot image. You extract the XP boot image from an XP install CD - or just use the file attached in the Guide. -
You aren't burning anything, you're trying to make an image of the disc. The disc is unreadable. Is it scratched / dirty?
-
Only if you're using 'Advanced' input mode.
-
Fix anything? No, because nothing is broken. Burn quality is nothing to do with the program.
