  1. There's nothing going on. The direct mirror download is different to the others and may indeed flag up as PUA.InstallCore. It's nothing to worry about and as has already been mentioned, it just offers 3rd party software during the installation process - which you can of course opt out of installing without it making any difference to ImgBurn itself. As for the Trojan.Gen.2 detection... well, I don't know anything about that one. A false positive I expect. Is it actually reporting that for the setup exe itself? Seems weird it would report the PUA and that for the same file.
  2. Directshow didn't like the file for some reason.
  3. It looks like that's the place, yeah. It would normally default to installing in the program files x86 folder, but oh well!
  4. Put them in the folder you installed the program to. So, to wherever the ImgBurn.exe file currently resides.
  5. If the disk has been formatted with spare areas enabled, the drive will enable its defect management feature and will automatically verify as it burns. That's what makes it burn at half the speed it's set to.
  6. There's no batch functionality for Build mode, no. You should in theory be able to do it via a batch file though. Take a look at this, it may help. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?/topic/24425-batch-burn-for-folders/
  7. Mount it. If you want it on a disc, buy some double layer ones that it'll fit on just fine.
  8. So the error was from the reading side of things (reading the files from the hdd) rather than the burning part? The log would have helped to pinpoint where the error was coming from, but I'm glad you've sorted it now anyway.
  9. Have you tried booting into safe mode and giving it a go? Do you have an option in your bios to enable ahci mode?
  10. The first error is the important one and that one was a 'write error'. So your drive ran into some issue burning the disc - i.e. It doesn't like them and you should try some different ones.
  11. Right click the drive selection box and pick 'family tree'. Close the box that pops up and then copy and paste everything from the log window.
  12. I don't think I've ever seen that error from anything other than a drive connected via USB. Can you post the log please?
  13. It doesn't exist / isn't possible.
  14. Btw, the layer break stuff only applies to DVD media.
  15. I haven't locked any topics, you just can't reply to it as you're probably new and it isn't yours. Opencandy shut down last year (2016). That said, it still didn't install things unless you'd opted in to installing them or hadn't opted out. My setup download file isn't a wrapper. If you got one that is, you downloaded form an advert pretending to be ImgBurn.
  16. Ignore what YouTube says, some people don't know as much as they think they do. Your drive appears to be having an issue with the discs. Sure, they might not be outright faulty (as another of your drives can burn them), but for whatever reason, your pioneer doesn't like them. You should try some Verbatim MKM-003-00 discs. If they also fail, it's looking more like a hardware issue. You could try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc or look at replacing it if you really need to burn DVD+r dl with whichever drive you have. I can see from your drive's family tree info that it's connected to a port on a Marvell controller. Sometimes that can cause problems. You should try and connect it to a port on the intel sata controller instead.
  17. There's a problem with the disc and your drive can't read it.
  18. I'm pretty sure you can opt out of selecting a layer break position within the window that pops up where you choose one.
  19. If you aren't using MKM-003-00 discs, don't even bother trying. Also, your drives probably can't overburn properly. Lots of drives appear to support the 'payload' but very few can produce working discs. A successful write operation (burn) doesn't really mean anything if the disc is unreadable - and that's where the verify phase comes in. So... get yourself a drive that's known to work (most LiteOn ones do - just don't get a slimline one) and get some Verbatim MKM-003-00 mid discs.
  20. The program won't make up its own mind. If you leave it set on Max, that's what it'll ask the drive to burn at. The best speed (for you) depends on how quickly you want the burn to complete. If you can't wait, burn at max. If you prefer quality over speed, take the time to try each supported speed and scan the disc to figure out the one that produced the best quality burn. Half the rated speed seem pretty good to me though - assuming you have the latest media. If you have older 8x dvds (I.e. Tyg02) or something, I'd burn those at 8x. For me it's generally single layer at 8x and double layer at 4x.
  21. Yes, that's correct.
  22. Yes, hopefully it can be added relatively easily in firmware. If they can do bitsetting, I can't see a reason they wouldn't also be able to change the layer type - it's in the same 'physical format information - last recorded' structure (not that I know how it's actually recorded on the physical media). I've mentioned this thread to a contact at Vinpower Digital and will see what they come back with. Keep your fingers crossed
  23. I 16:23:25 [1:0:0] Optiarc DVD RW AD-5290S+ 1.R9 (D:) (SATA) I 16:23:25 CDB: AD 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 08 04 00 00 I 16:23:25 CDB Interpretation: Read Disc Structure - Physical Information I 16:23:25 BUFFER: 08 02 00 00 01 0F 32 10 00 03 00 00 00 FC FF EF 00 23 65 4F 00 00 03 4D 4B 4D 00 00 00 00 00 30 30 33 00 40 25 25 37 0C 02 2D 66 02 2D 66 21 23 0D 0E 14 14 02 01 01 10 00 21 23 0D 0E 14 14 02 Based on the info you sent me (the important bit has been included above), I have to conclude your drive leaves the layer type set to 'Recordable', even though the Disc Category (book type) has been set to DVD-ROM.
  24. There's nothing wrong with the download site. Oh and of course the program works. Clearly an IT professional such as yourself would realise it's been around long enough to prove itself.
  25. Ah, that's annoying, the line of info I was looking for isn't actually implemented in 2.5.8.0. As is the case with some Audi sat nav discs that I've looked at before, perhaps not only does the drive need to support changing the 'Book Type' to DVD-ROM (which yours does ok), they may also need to change the 'Layer Type' to 'Read Only'. In order to check what your drive is doing, can you please do the following for me... Eject the disc, load the program and go into Read mode. Press the F8 key to enable I/O Debug mode. Insert the disc. Once the disc info panel has been populated with info (the stuff you posted in your previous post), press the F8 key again to disable I/O Debug mode. Now save the contents of the log window to a file (via File -> Save As) and then upload it for me to examine. Thanks
