As with everything 'optical disc' related, the 25GB value is the unformatted value and is using 1000 as the divider, not the true 1024. The real size would be: 25,025,314,816 bytes = 24,438,784 KB = 23,866 MB = 23.31 GB That's the *best case* senario. If the disc is formatted with what's known as 'spare areas' for error correction etc (part of the blu-ray standard), that size will be smaller still.

No, it doesn't (nor does it say anywhere that it does). ImgBurn burns as-is, because that's what burning tools do. If you want a (re)compression / (re)authoring / shrinking tool then you'll need to find one designed for that purpose.

What file extension does it have? All it means is that file extension is associated with a given program. It's not actually 'roxio' format.

And you can't burn a 8GB image onto a 4.37GB disc.

If there's no MDS file ImgBurn will attempt to parse the image (assuming it's a DVD Video one) and present you with some LB options. You don't need to try and figure it out for yourself via that option in the Tools menu.

Sounds like it's not a valid .DVD file. Open it in notepad and copy + paste what it says. If you see any mention of 'MediaType', remove that line and try again.

As I said before, talk to WD. Their flasher has to support your system and obviously it doesn't.

You've got DMA problems. Which controller is the drive on? (or which motherboard do you have?) Have you tried updating the drivers for the controller? Have you tried another cable? Have you tried uninstalling the controller from within Device manager?

Update ImgBurn too, you're using a known buggy version there.

'BD-RE Fastwrite' is nothing to do with the files in the certificate folder being there or not, it's to do with the speed at which the disc burns.

None of that is anything to do with it. (except UDF 1.02 should be the revision you use as that's the main one for OS's before Vista - although they probably support up to v2.00 really) It's not your drive that reads the file system, it's windows. The drive just sees it as 'data'. If the old drives are having trouble reading the discs then it's because the drives are old (lol) and probably don't like the media you're using or are sensitive to burn quality (burn slower next time).

The clipboard is part of windows. It's what windows uses when you copy + paste text or files between programs/locations. It's not something you really see, it's just 'there'. Press the 'Copy to clipboard' button in ImgBurn and then position your cursor within the text window to reply here on the forum. (i.e. the white box where you type stuff!) Now right click and select paste (or press CTRL+V). Copy and paste is a very basic process, honest!

If the certificate folder was in the source list then it would have been added to the compilation 'as-is' (i.e. it would include all the files that were in it). If it wasn't, ImgBurn adds one (and its sub folder), but it will of course just be empty. Do you have any settings enabled that could be making it ignore the files in the cert folder? Get me a screenshot of the main window when the 'Options' tab is visible please.

VOB files should/must be smaller than 1GB in size. I don't know how you made an 8GB one but you need to correct it.

You should probably use it as a fallback if a call without it being specified fails. That way you get the file open the way you really want it where possible but it doesn't prevent it from working when it's not.

8Gb by the looks of it! So basically your source files are not right for burning.
