  1. 1. Just download the ISO image of memtest, then all you need to do is burn it in 'Write' mode. 2 & 3. Once you've made a bootable floppy disc, you can extract/save it and use that as your boot image - if you want to be able to access other files you put on the cd you'll need to make sure that the disc allows you to access your cd/dvd drive - i.e. you need to load the right drivers. For firmware updates etc I personally think it's better to make a bootable usb pen. Then you can just copy the updated / newer files to the pen as and when you need to via explorer and normal drag+drop or copy+paste... much easier than burning discs. Are you sure the firmware update doesn't come as an ISO image - which would then already be bootable?
  2. Maybe it only likes the certificate folder if it's on BD media? You could test this theory using Virtual CloneDrive and adding MediaType=BDR to the .DVD file. It should then mount the ISO (with and without the CERTIFICATE folder) as a BDR disc. I'd be interested to hear if PowerDVD 8 will play the exact same content from a BD disc but not a DVD one.
  3. Do you get to see the splashscreen? It looks like an API (system) failure rather than a bug in ImgBurn
  4. 150? stick them on ebay.
  5. Ok then, you must have clicked the calculate button accidently then. It's the only way to get that initial screen up! If you don't select the 'seamless' option it'll mark whichever cell you select as 'non seamless' anyway (so SPLIP will be changed to 'no' for that 1991520 one). Well if you do that ImgBurn won't change the cells to seamless / non seamless. What the 'Don't update IFO/BUP files' does not prevent is ImgBurn running a 'Get VTS Sectors' type function whereby it corrects all the pointers in the IFO files (if they're wrong). If that's not done, the disc won't play properly.
  6. I really have no idea what you're talking about yangxi, sorry. It's never made a CUE file for a split DVD image - why would it when CUE is part of the BIN & CUE format and that's only for CD's?! If you turn on file splitting in the settings and read a dvd you will end up with an MDS file and the split ISO - where the files are named I00, I01, I02 etc. Maybe if you try and explain exactly what you've got and exactly what you're expecting it'll help me understand the point you're trying to make.
  7. Try pressing the 'Audio' button on your remote. If you still can't hear anything it probably means the track is in a format that your player doesn't support. This is nothing to do with ImgBurn.
  8. It doesn't make a CUE file for DVD images, it makes an MDS file. The file will be created automatically if the image is split into smaller parts (I00, I01 etc).
  9. CUE is only for CD so it would never make one on a DVD image. If you enable file splitting the program will create an MDS for DVD images.
  10. 1. You've probably checked the 'Auto' (as in 'Auto Calculate') checkbox. That's why the first one comes up, it wouldn't do normally. Looking at the values I'd pick the 1991520 one (2nd gold star down) - that's even better if it happens to be at a scene change. Ignoring the LB options just splits the data exactly into 2 sections (layers worth) of the same size without any thought towards aligning cells like you're supposed to. 2. Seamless sets the SPLIP flag in the IFO to 'yes' (if it was 'no' in the first place) Seamless layer breaks aren't part of the DVD Video standard, some players will just stop/die/freeze if they hit one. 3. Look for it using IfoEdit or PgcEdit - you can Google for instructions. 4. It makes no odds really.
  11. and what dye do the other two media use? If it's not MKM-001-00 (Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL), forget about using it. btw there's 8.29 firmware now, you should update. oh and ImgBurn 2.4.2.0 is out too.
  12. Taiyo Yuden for CD's Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim for DVD's
  13. I'm fairly sure the program will ask you if you want to do that (when it's actually possible of course).
  14. Where were the discs made? The ones from singapore are the best. If you can't even burn the 2.4x verbatims from singapore then you should probably invest in a new drive - you could always try cleaning the drive first though.
  15. All I was pointing out is that 2.4x doesn't exist as an option for your drive / media / firmware combo. Your choices are 4x, 6x and 8x. Slowest doesn't always mean best. Sometimes a faster speed can produce better results, it all depends on what's been tweaked in the firmware.
  16. Ok so you got a duff burn. If it's a 1 off, forget about it. I'd stick to the 2.4x Verbatim discs (MKM-001-00 dye) if I were you though. You could also try buring at one of the REAL available write speeds (2.4x isn't an option so 4x would have been used anyway) - i.e. 6x or 8x. You might find that will actually produce a better quality burn. Being a liteon drive, you can actually use tools like cdspeed and dvdinfopro to perform burn quality tests. I don't suppose that'll help you here though because that disc is basically a coaster now so far as that drive is concerned - ejecting and reinserting can sometimes make it initialise the disc properly though.
  17. Because the 'E:' you're searching for is matched to '...SERVICE:34e' etc. I have no idea why the API command isn't working, you'd have to dig much deeper to get an answer to that. Maybe you have some dodgy filter drivers installed or something. Check them out in the Tools menu.
  18. You can burn whatever you like, you just can't read discs that are protected against being read!
  19. The game is probably protected and therefore ImgBurn will not be able to copy it.
  20. Help -> ImgBurn Logs. Although if you're doing it via DVD Flick it might be somewhere in the DVD Flick folder - as I believe it passes the target name of the log file to ImgBurn as one of its CLI parameters.
  21. Aren't your audio cd's originals though? Here you're reading from what could be really crappy cdr media.
  22. Build mode is designed to build from an existing folder structure (and burn the entire thing 'as is')... it's not flexible, I know that - but at the time it was 'by design' and so being user friendly doesn't come into it. It sounds to me as if the only way around it is to drag+drop the various folders into temp folders that represent how you want them burnt. Or of course do what I've said all along (in other threads of this nature) and stick to using a full blown tool like Nero.
  23. I kinda need the dump file itself, not the readout from windbg
  24. Yup, please do post the dump file. If you need to adjust the settings as to how much gets 'dumped' when you hit a bsod (so we have more to go on), please do that too!
  25. Do you have a firewall / proxy that could be blocking it?
