  1. The usb socket on the back is blue though isn't it? Should be usb 3.0
  2. It's only reading stuff you've burnt in the past isn't it? If everything you burn now comes out as an empty disc, it clearly can't be reading those and something has gone wrong with the burning functionality of your drive. The layout refers to the disc layout. As the error message indicates, the program has detected a problem with it - namely that there should be 1 session on the disc and there are 0 sessions (because the drive still reports it is empty).
  3. Yeah so that disc still looks empty to me.... and more importantly, the drive. If all of your discs are coming out 'empty' after you've burnt them, you may just need to buy a new drive as clearly yours isn't functioning properly.
  4. Please take one of the discs you've just burnt and put it back in the drive. Load ImgBurn and go into Write mode. Copy and paste all of the disc info from the box on the right into your next reply.
  5. It looks like your drive thinks the disc is still empty once the burn has completed and the tray has been cycled. Maybe try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc?
  6. I can't remember if it's supposed to or not. So long as it doesn't change to say BD-R QL, you know it'll fit on your TL disc.
  7. No, you can use the 'calculate' tab back on the main screen for that. You do have the output mode set to 'device' and with the disc in the drive yeah? You can also uncheck the 'Automatic Target Media' checkbox in the bottom right of the DLE window and pick BD-R TL manually.
  8. Yeah, that's probably showing its for a cd. It's telling you how much you've used and will adjust that size up to the next level of disc as you go beyond it. I.e. Cd -> DVD -> DVD DL -> BD -> BD DL etc.
  9. That looks fine to me. Where exactly are you seeing the figures you mentioned earlier? At a guess, you're seeing the size of a 74 minute cd listed somewhere. That's nothing to do with the capacity of your disc. Also, it's ~ 650MB rather than ~ 100,000MB you've got on your disc. No where near 1/3rd
  10. Post the disc info from the box on the right when you're in write mode please.
  11. You're confusing options and program modes. 'Test Mode' is the simulation option and finalising a disc whilst test mode is active doesn't waste a disc.
  12. You're confused. 'Test Mode' is the simulation option. It is only supported by CD-R and DVD-R format media. For other media types, the program will tell you it won't work.
  13. You probably clicked on an advert on that site. You want the little download button that's in the green outlined box along with the Facebook gadget.
  14. Remove the /start and manually check the various tabs (especially the bootable one) look the same between two instances of ImgBurn. One you've configured via the gui and the other via cli. The logs don't contain all the info, so there isn't much to go on I'm afraid.
  15. No, that's all your drive supports. ImgBurn can't do anything the drive doesn't support.
  16. An erasable disc will always be erasable. If your drive isn't showing it as a cdrw, either the drive is misreporting info or it was never a rewritable disc to begin with.
  17. All of the disc info is in the box on the right when you're in write mode. Burning an image vs burning files makes no difference. (As in, write mode vs build mode) You'll still fit the same amount of data on the disc either way.
  18. It's in the tools menu somewhere.
  19. It's part of the DVD video specs.
  20. Full certification and formatting properly are what takes the time. Full certification is a process performed by the drive itself. It takes a long time - as you've seen. For bdre, formatting properly makes the program write zeros to every sector on the disc (after the drive has done its thing with the disc). I do this because for whatever reason, formatting the disc didn't erase what was on it when I first implemented formatting for bdre.
  21. Hmm not really sure how you've managed that one?! You may need to dive into the registry and reset (delete) the log window position related settings. They're in hkey_current_user\software\imgburn Make sure the program isn't running at the time.
  22. The two options are totally separate. And that thread lost all credibility in my eyes when the person spoke of formatting and writing the disc before then trying to 'mount' it in virtual clonedrive and play in powerdvd, tmt and Nero player. Clearly if you're mounting something in vcd, it's an image file and not a disc. None of those apps would have an issue with playback from a disc formatted without spare areas.
  23. Install virtual clonedrive or anything else that installs elbycdio, switch imgburn's i/o interface to elbycdio and see if that works. I have no idea why, but the os is rejecting the commands and returning an error.
  24. Right click the drive selection drop down box and pick 'Family Tree'. Close the prompt and then copy + paste everything from the log window please. If you boot into safe mode, does it work?
