  1. Good evening Mr. Pfannstiel, I'm sorry, but your translation is a pure joke? Why were so many errors made? Why do you have to transfer text lines to German 1 to 1? Do you want the individual users to annoy or simply only on the arm to take? Can you to me to say which you thereby to aim at exactly want? I do not understand unfortunately the sense of your action, perhaps could you simply briefly this some words describe.
  2. Here is your old thread ~ http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtop...ost&p=69438

....and the pertinent part of the log

    I 13:31:13 Destination Device: [1:0:0] TEAC DVD+RW DV-W58E D.0N (E:) (ATA)

    I 13:31:13 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: MCC-004-00) (Speeds: 2x, 4x)

Basically the drive is rated for 2X and 4X for these discs, but the discs are actually rated at 16X. Basically an old drive + new media = errors/problems. You can burn the Verbatim discs at a lower than rated speed, but sometimes burning too slow can be just as bad if not worse than burning too fast. My advice stays the same as in the other thread as to obtaining a new drive. I'm sure the others will agree.

  3. I 09:46:16 Read Speed (Data/Audio): MAX / 8x

Lowering your read speed may give you some joy too, but all in all you will need a burner. The one that corny linked you too is an excellent drive and I have it's SATA brother. You can also find good deals at NewEgg.com and usually find something with free shipping....Lite-On, Pioneer 115D, NEC/Optiarc 7200A, Samsung 203 (I'm not sure what the IDE equivalant is) are a few good brands. I'd give you links but the Egg is blocked for at work.

  4. Regarding hardware firewalls, I am speaking from an ignorant point of view because I can honestly say I don't know much about routers, but my understanding is that not all routers are firewall-enabled. True, or not?

You are probably right, but the one I use (Linksys WRG52v2 or something like that) does have one onboard.

  5. now have to reinstall ZA, go through the ass-ache of telling it to ok this and that program and all of the good stuff you buy decent programs to avoid

I would just move onto another product...Comodo or another of the free offerings perhaps. I personally don't use an aftermarket firewall, but rely on my routers hardware firewall and Vista's own firewall. No annoying popups to deal with and I haven't seen anything get through yet.

  6. Check your DMA, burning a disc should take no where near that long. To answer your question though, yes, you should be able to do other things while burning to your disc...keep it light though, nothing resource intensive.

  7. Have you tried another disc from the same spindle?

For what it's worth, Daxon isn't worth the money...Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden only.

EDIT: You've actually got a double whammy there...

    MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-841S 1.50 (ATA)

Not much of a drive either.
