  1. Still get the same result finalize fails the first time and then on retry works perfectly. Disk will play on computer but not in DVD player (shows as 'disk is dirty')

I will pick up some Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks tomorrow....

All symptoms of dodgy media....I'm sure things will be looking up when you get some decent ones.

  2. And still some crap comes through, depending on if you're on a Russian, Chinese and/or most third world sites. <_<

What would you be doing on those sites spinner....looking for a bride? :teehee:

If you get a virus from looking at her online, just think of what you'd get if she was sitting right next to you >_<

  3. I tried burning an audio cd and everything went fine. I don't know why dvds get burned with flaws and cds don't but that's how things are.

Any of the drives you mentioned would be good. If you have SATA connections you might look at a Samsung 203B. Have you checked your ASPI to see that it isn't corrupt? XP doesn't need it, but if it's there and it's corrupt you can experience the problems you are seeing. If all is well in that arena, take all the advice and look for a replacement drive.

  4. It does a nice job, but a little patience with a magic marker accomplishes the same objective

I never have been able to draw pictures on a disc with a sharpie that looked worth a damn.... :) I also forgot to mention the time factor, it is rediculous.

  5. I bought the BenQ 1655 for the LS feature as I'm a sucka for gimmicks....I've used it maybe 4-5 times. The printable discs are much better IMHO and that is what I use primarily. But some seem the like the LS discs. $5 isn't a big difference for the feature, so try it out....you don't have to use it and you aren't out a whole lot of dough.

  6. The only reason for doing this, when you try some movies they will not go with shrink so I use Fab decrypter first. When it is done you can take the original disk out and put in a blank, open Shrink and it will then move to Decrypter when it shrinks the copy. This allows you to go workout for an hour or two and then come back with the finished product.

I would humbly suggest that this is enough discussion about shrink and DVDD and the rest. This is the ImgBurn Forum, we do not discuss ripping techniques but we will gladly discuss burning problems if they involve ImgBurn and not some other program(s)

Agreed, we've already let more out of the bag than we should have.
