  1. Then, you can pretty much isolate the problem to hardware. If your image was made 6 months ago, and the burns had worked since then, then if you restored to this image and the problem is still there, it showed up after you had successful burns. Since a working image produces the same error, you know it's not a configuration or Windows error, unless somehow some BIOS settings got changed. Therefore, you can pretty much pin the problem to either the drive or something inside the computer. How old is this drive? I'd be more likely to just trying to replace the drive and see if that helps.
  2. Yeah, many AV apps don't allow you to manually select to override their options. Many AV apps make the mistake of choosing for the user rather than giving them the option to choose for themselves. Probably the easiest way to get around OpenCandy doing anything is to disable your Internet connection before running the ImgBurn installer. Or any installer that has OpenCandy wrapped around it, like the Freemake applications. Although that means you were able to get the ImgBurn installer first, which for NAV and other AV apps means disabling the AV app. Which is always a bad idea, even temporarily, just to get around some poor software choices.
  3. Well, it's always possible your system image imaged the problem that was created. Unless you have an image made like when you first got the system and tried testing with it, the only thing I can suggest is if you have another BD-RE DL you haven't tried using yet. See if that does any good. I'd be worried about the drive being the problem at that point. You could also try formatting the BD-RE DL as a Windows giant floppy and try writing files to it in Windows Explorer. See where that gets you.
  4. I guess you mean Norton AntiVirus. It's flagging the OpenCandy installer in ImgBurn as malware and deleting the file. A good AV app would let you choose to save if you want to take the risk, but, then again, Norton AV is not necessarily a good AV app.
  5. First thing I would try to do is power off the PC/burner if it's external if you haven't done that already. It's surprising sometimes how a simple power cycle can fix random errors that happen with optical drives in Windows. Power cycling also cycles Windows which sometimes needs a restart, too, to fix some issues.
  6. It's New Year's Resolution time! Kiss another year goodbye! These New Year's Resolutions are just another pack of lies! I'd quote the entire song by Scary Gary Alan but 1.) there are no lyrics on the web and 2.) the song goes by so fast I'm not going to do all that work to quote it!
  7. When the Create Layer Break dialog opens, there's a listing called Padding where it is something like, say, 10. What exactly does Padding mean? 10 what?
  8. I am guessing this Producer created a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive before it creates an ISO? If know where this VIDEO_TS folder is, open Build mode in ImgBurn and drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder into the Build job. Then create and burn the image. I am also guessing this Producer makes DVD's and not Blu-Rays. I forget the name of the folder Blu-Rays produce.
  9. ImgBurn can burn a DVD Video compatible disc but it cannot create the VIDEO_TS files from an MP4 or AVI necessary to make a DVD Video. I use ConvertXToDVD to create a VIDEO_TS. There are free apps, but the only one I ever tried took like 6 hours to make a half hour video. I then use ImgBurn to burn the VIDEO_TS ConvertXToDVD creates. All you need to do is drag and drop the VIDEO_TS in Build mode.
  10. And you won't find them in stores. Look online for the DataLife Plus brand of Verbatim DVD+R DL.
  11. Depends on your definition of supported. Why do you say they're not supported? What sort of error message do you get?
  12. It's getting harder and harder to find cynical songs I can quote each year at Christmas time. Eventually, I'll have to recycle, but I believe this is one I haven't done yet. The first thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me Is finding a Christmas tree The second thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me: Rigging up the lights And finding a Christmas tree The third thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me Hangovers Rigging up the lights And finding a Christmas tree The fourth thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me Sending Christmas cards Hangovers Rigging up the lights And finding a Christmas tree The fifth thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me Five months of bills! Sending Christmas cards Hangovers Rigging up the lights And finding a Christmas tree The sixth thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me: Facing my in-laws Five months of bills! I hate those Christmas cards! Hangovers Rigging up these lights! And finding a Christmas tree The seventh thing at Christmas that's such a pain to me: The Salvation Army Facing my in-laws Five months of bills! Sending Christmas cards Oh, geez! I'm tryin' to rig up these lights! And finding a Christmas tree The eighth thing at Christmas that such a pain to me: I wanna transformer for christmas! Charities, And what'cha mean "YOUR in-laws"! ? Five months of bills! Oh, making out these cards Honey, get me a beer, huh? What, we have no extension cords! ? Charities Gotta make 'em dinner Five months of bills I'm not sending them this year, that's it! Shut up, you! Fine! You're so smart, you rig up the lights! And finding a Christmas tree
  13. What exactly does a format do? Is it just a write of dummy data to every single available sector? Is that sector then erased afterwards? Because after a format, there's no data on the disc.
  14. You could try ImgBurn's firmware update check feature. I can't test to make sure right now as I'm formatting a BD-RE DL so it will take about 90 minutes and the drive is locked so I can't check. I believe you right click on the drive in the drop down list for target drives and there should be a check for firmware updates option there. LUK can be more specific if you haven't tried this feature yet. Turns out my memory was right. It's the last option in the list.
  15. ImgBurn can create and burn existing images for writing to CD, DVD, or Blu-Ray. ImgBurn can create Audio CD's from various types of music files playable with software like Windows Media Player. It can create DVD Video DVD's from pre-existing DVD Video files as well as non DVD Video data DVD's. It can create Blu-Ray movies from pre-existing Blu-Ray files and non movie data Blu-Rays. Lastly, as long as the disc isn't copy protected, ImgBurn can read a CD, DVD, or Blu-Ray to an image file for the purposes of making an archive.
  16. When you say it doesn't recognize Windows 10, do you mean the log entry where it says you're running Windows 8 even though you're running Windows 10? If so, that's a technical issue with Windows 10. It will be fixed when ImgBurn is next updated. In the meantime, just ignore it. It doesn't affect the running of ImgBurn. Just an incorrect string returned by a call to get the Windows version.
  17. Besides, the NoCinavia seems to imply it's a Blu-Ray decrypted by AnyDVD. A DVD would have at least the one folder on the disc: VIDEO_TS. Whatever those contents on your disc are, they don't appear to be either DVD, like LUK said, or Blu-Ray.
  18. Yes, all DVD burners do. I was asking why they don't have them for DVD players. On a unit where it's really needed, it's mysteriously absent.
  19. Then try loading the Blu-Ray folder itself, without putting it in an image file and loading it in the virtual drive. If it still persists, the problem is in the encoding software you used that created the Blu-Ray folder contents. Which, at this point, is the most likely culprit I'd look into first to debug.
  20. Could be your Blu-Ray player doesn't like that particular brand of BD disc you used to burn to? The audio discrepancy could be lag from the player not properly reading data from the disc fast enough due to a reflectivity issue. Try a BD-RE if you have any and if they're different from the BD you were using see if you still get audio playback issues. If you use software to preview the Blu-Ray from HD and you get no audio issues and you still get audio issues from your Blu-Ray player, then you know it's not the encoding software. Since ImgBurn just burns what you give it, the problem would be somewhere with the player or your burner might need replacing.
  21. I can't think of any free software that lets you play Blu-Ray files from a hard disk. I do know that WinDVD does and PowerDVD should, but I don't know. However, both of those are fairly expensive software packages.

    hi

You know, one doesn't want to judge, but if you want to send a private message to everyone at once, it sounds like you want to spam.
  23. If when running Windows Update on Windows 10, you get KB3122947 and it returns Error 0x80070643 after downloading, there's good news. The update actually downloaded, it just won't install! Typical Microsoft fuck up. However, there's an easy solution. Open a Command Prompt with elevated privileges. Find the file windows10.0-kb3122947-x64.cab with a Search in Windows and discover its location. Copy and paste y this into the Command Prompt: dism /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\c4a1b8896ce9fbfea96c1ee6890d52a5\windows10.0-kb3122947-x64.cab In /packagepath:C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\c4a1b8896ce9fbfea96c1ee6890d52a5\windows10.0-kb3122947-x64.cab change the C:\ location to the location of windows10.0-kb3122947-x64.cab on your system. For most people, what I copied and pasted above should be fine, but may not always be the case.
  24. Actually, turns out even though I just got another copy of the Pioneer I already own, I really needed to swap out the LG Blu-Ray burner I was using as my primary reader. LG's are pretty bad readers. As far as writing goes, the Ritek 8x DVD+RW's I was using would die after less than 20 writes if written just once in the LG. The Pioneer gets more writes out of it. Lastly, my LG as a reader wasn't doing as well as it should be and was probably need of a replacement. LG's need replacing after like a year and it's been like a year. I was inserting discs for reading and the light would sometimes just stay on and not do anything. Then there would be times I inserted a disc and the drive would lock up various accesses in the system, requiring a restart because the eject button and functions weren't working. Plus, the Pioneer always was the faster reader versus my LG.
  25. It's most likely the VIDEO_TS created is larger than DVD-5. Just because all other encodes fit on one doesn't mean the current one will. The same file of the same show of the same length may encode one way but another file of the exact same content may encode larger depending on how that file was created. As LUK said, try importing the VIDEO_TS into a Build mode and see what it says at the bottom. If it says DVD DL, then it's larger than a DVD-5. You can download DVDShrink and compress the VIDEO_TS contents down to a DVD-5.
