Well, that didn't last long. The next Friday Night Lights airs on Monday!

Funny how one can post all kinds of things that people may not like, and, yet, a few repeated characters isn't allowed.

Lik-Sang.com Out of Business due to Multiple Sony Lawsuits
dbminter replied to lfcrule1972's topic in Chat
Ah, well, more examples of business buying off the law into their back pockets to affect legal action that does nothing but harm legitimate customers, in the end. -
Did once. 9 years ago. Put me on lithium. But, discovered it was slowing me down at work, making it really difficult to perform my task. Besides, after I got to thinking it, I figured there's nothing THAT wrong with me that pills aren't going to help. So, I went off them. After all, life was starting to look for me. I had had my 2nd girlfriend in life. Even had had my first date! Life looked good; looks are deceiving. Within days after my last visit, she broke it off with me. Yeah, you'll say I should have stayed on it, she left for me that reason, the usual shit. Too bad, as I later learned, earlier this year, she had never loved me to begin with. So, to Hell with empty arguments, I say!

Need a little confirmation from any other Opera users. Discovered something that seems to occur in all 9.0x releases of Opera, but is not in Opera 8.52. Would someone else check this for me, too? Copied and pasted over from my post over at Opera's forums: I have had a wide variety of Opera versions installed at one point, to beta test weekly builds, etc. Something I only just accidentally discovered after finding an old Opera 8 installed directory and loading it up to check the Build of the install. I was working around in it because it was still opened and discovered that navigations on TV.COM show pages worked in Opera 8.52.7721 didn't in the current Opera 9 build I was testing, 9.03.8629. So, I tried some other 9.0x builds, 9.02.8585 and 9.01.8552, and got the same results. I didn't find anything here searching for "tv.com" so, I thought I'd ask about it, to get others to try it under 9.0x builds. As it could be possible that I've got some left behind modules or Registry Entries or whatnot from test beta builds. It comes with the territory, and, I willingly take it on myself. Would anyone mind using 9.02.8585 (The last gold/final release.) or the latest 9.03 build (Mine was 8629.) and check out TV.COM to see if you get the same results? Back a show, any show, and load any episode from its list. Then, try any of the "navigation" menu buttons: Recap, Overview, Credits, Trivia & Quotes, Reviews, Pre-Show Buzz, Discussion, or the < and > previous and next episode arrows. They don't seem to show up in Opera 9 as clickable links as they do in Opera 8. Meaning, the mouse cursor will change and clicking on them doesn't do anything because they aren't being recognized as links, it seems. Or, if there's something someone maybe able to tell me I need to change/check, also, freely let me know that, too. One never knows. Thanks!

One "logical" drawback is if you type in smilies, they get flagged as misspelled, but, the spell checker can't possibly think you may want to incorrectly spell something.

First, something to consider, if you have no PATA optical drives, you may just want to consider not using a dual cable and connect each as a Master to one each of the PATA controllers. Second, when you say the 2nd HD isn't recognized, do you mean it's not seen in the BIOS or Windows doesn't recognize it/Windows won't start? If the BIOS recognizes it or you can see it in DOS, then, what is happening is Windows is finding the wrong drive first and not booting because Windows is on the other drive. BOOT.INI needs to be edited to show the proper XP drive to start from. Third, do you have a mixture of SATA and PATA HD's? Because one thing I tended to notice with mixing both types is the BIOS assigns SATA drives priority first, but, Windows idiotically assigns PATA drives priority to getting a drive letter. (Probably because XP was created before there was even an SATA?) Which would cause a problem like that described in the Second section above. Fourth, yeah, shit HP/Compaq drives. Had a Maxtor HD in a Compaq die 31 days after purchase. HP wanted the whole damn PC sent in to replace something that IBM simply would swap out the HD for: send you a replacement and then charge a credit card IF you didn't return the broken one. Screw that.

Well, they've definitely fucked up something. I wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with the antispyware engine, like the problem with it I discovered and USB devices. Hey, Xeron, willing to try something else? Try this: install the ZoneAlarm AntVirus version, if you haven't yet. ONLY the AntiVirus version. No other flavors. The 15 day free trial version will do, as I tested it with that. It has to be the AV version only as all the other ZA installers have the anti-spyware engine in them even if you don't install it. The installer INSTALLS IT ANYWAY regardless of if you use the free version or if you don't choose to use antispyware. Anyway, install ZoneAlarm AntiVirus version of the firewall and repeat to see if the problem with the tooltips is there or not.

You know...? NBC, since it has a stake in Sci-Fi Channel, and has aired Battlestar Galactica on its father network... could conceivably air Doctor Who at some point to a national audience on a huge, basic television network! Not that I'm knocking Sci-Fi. It marks the first time the show has had a scheduled airing on a nationwide network since like 1992, when Sci-Fi showed the Tom Baker years.

I once had a very painful dream in my youth that the similar happened to me. With a folded lawn chair. I had spilled Kool-Aid on the carpet and that was my punishment: she jumping on a lawn chair on my nuts until they burst open, flying out goo. Even my dreams ne'er end well for me... :&

It may not be related to this problem, so, I can't guarantee anything... mostly because I don't remember it. It was whatever option that prevented animations from web pages in browsers. I went over the options in ZA just now, but, I can't find what it was in this version.

Yeah, that's something I admit, as I said, that I really like in Version 2. And, I'm surprised that, not only wasn't it in IE 7, as noted, but, that it took so long for anyone to implement.

After discussing it over in my thread where I apparently, inadvertently, revealed to the world that Internet Explorer 7 was homosexual I thought I'd voice my usual fantastic opinions on Firefox 2.0 after installing it. Wow... it's almost as if they just looked at IE 7 and said, "What can we copy and take out of Firefox to increase the actual amount of work that the user must do and reduce what he can do!" First thing was the copied style of tabbed browsing from IE 7. It sucked there and it sucks here! And, near as I can tell, it cannot be changed in any options to do anything else. If I'm wrong in any of my statements here on a software option, please let me know how I can change it. It seems that, for some strange reason, after 11 tabs are opened, the remaining tabs are sent to a pull down controlled list. Now, there are left and right scroll buttons that I do have to give them credit for adding that when you hold down the mouse button, the tabs do scroll. As opposed to the Tab Mix Plus buttons which don't do this. But, the IE 7 type of interface where you must pull down the list on the far right to really navigate anywhere is a pain. This limited number of tabs also means it's harder to determine which tab on the screen is the one you want. Speaking of Tab Mix Plus, FF 2 disables it because it says it is not compatible. Okay, BUT, a LOT of great stuff is lost! Like the picture preview on a tab that HELPED you to identify X tab as the tab you're looking for. The ability to merge windows, etc. But, FF 2 is relatively new, so, hopefully, the designer of TMP can make it compatible. Pluses to FF 2 for, apparently, a real time spell checker that is pointing out things as I type. One weird possible bug seems to be that context windows don't necessarily want to appear on their own. Meaning if I select something in the Options, it won't appear until I click on the window that I opened the context from. Weird. I also wanted to pass along a list of Extensions I had that FF 2 does not apparently support, in case anyone else also uses them. Tab Mix Plus 0.3.0.5 Oh, man, SO much here that I liked... The ability to merge windows, to close all tabs to the left or right only of the current one, the ability to scroll through tabs lists, the little pictures that helped display a windows contents, THE ABILITY TO SAVE AND MANAGE SESSIONS! FF 2's stupid little recover sessions ONLY on crashes is okay, but, the ability to keep collections of sessions is more convenient that bookmarks, IMO. Back IS Close 1.3.3 Fun one that replaced the Back button with a close tab button if there were not more previous tabs. Download Embedded 0.4 So much shit out there is prevented to try and do the simplest file saves on them. This was nice to have for that reason. And, probably a little pressure made it convenient to remove this extension under the guise that it "did not work with the current architecture." Download Manager Teak 0.7.1 I liked this because it prevented the download list from opening as its own window, but as a tab, instead. Didn't get in the way and "lock up" Firefox until it had loaded its display list because it was as a tab instead, functioning, really, as a web page being loaded, in essence. Fasterfox 1.0.3 Nice little acceleration tweaks in there. Firefox Extension Backup Extension (FEBE) 3.0 Despite the oddly stupid and redundant naming of itself this extension worked well. Now, a note here. 3.0 does not work, BUT, upon FF 2 install, it checks for any new updates. Version 4.0 DOES install under FF 2. Wanted to pass that note along, in case FF 2 doesn't tell ya.

I thought there was a similar issue along these lines two years ago and it was discovered to be fixed by disabling the same block that prevented smilies, etc. from displaying on the forum board in a web browser.

Wow, strangely enough, they DID release Firefox 2 on the date I had thought they might.

Yeah, I admit, I avoid alcohol by choice. I do not want to be like my dad was. So, the best thing to do it to avoid it. But, if I had the money, I'd drown my sorrows every once in a while.

Unfortunately, it appears I may need this medication for peripheral neuropathy. Now, if I somehow slept on a large pile of money instead of a matress which would mean I'm financially set enough to use alcohol to self medicate myself I would do it in an instant. But, as usual, I've no choice. Plus, I've no friends to go out and with. And, the fact that I don't drink might put a dampener on that, too.

Which explains the strange new NBC offering, TARDIS Or No TARDIS?

Actually, my bollocks have begun talking to me rather loudly lately. And, by lately, over the last 9 years. They tell me they want release. And, I wish I could help them. But, looks like all there is is

Yes, every All Hallow's Eve, the Great Pumpkin rises from the pumpkin patch to snatch unsuspecting kids off the streets to scoop out their brains and eyes and use their empty, severed skulls for trick or treat bags. "Trick or treat!" HOLDS UP KID'S SKULL TURNED UPSIDE DOWN, JAW MISSING, BRAIN PAN AND EYESOCKETS EMPTY TO WOMAN AT DOOR TO HAVE TREATS DROPPED INTO IT "OH, MY FUCKING GOD! Get the SHIT away from me!"

Vegemite... now that I think about it... sounds like a vegetable explosive.

Honestly, the story I told about how I learned wasn't real was fact.

Cobblers? Last I checked cobblers were both shoemakers and the desserts they ate. As for medication, I am on one real doozy right now. Gabapentin. Let me copy and paste how I described it somewhere else: Go, go, go! Gaba, gaba-pentin! Wow... now that I've had a month for my system to become saturated by gabapentin (aka Neurontin) it's amazing what one's definition of "dizziness" and "disorientation" is. Both were listed as possible side effects. Let me define what these words mean to me under the effects of this stuff. My right hand feels like it's floating on top of the water, like a drowned person's would. e.g. like my father's was. My left hand is surprisingly somewhat normal. There's a weight on my shoulders feeling like I'm being forced forward. And, it's not the world or my own crushing emotional losses and defeat doing that. My head, in order to feel this way, must have been removed, turned upside down, and my receding hair line attached to the gaping hole in my neck, with my face towards my back. "Why didn't anyone tell me my ass was so big?!" Oh, and let's not even discuss trying to walk like a normal person anymore. I will just leave it as an exercise for the reader to imagine a Return Of The Living Dead zombie except he moves like a standard Romero zombie. He can talk, reason, etc. but moves as if he's fighting off rigor mortis. And, the sheer number of typoes already corrected... those that pass my notice lately aren't even possible to count.
