  8. Blu is spot on, if you compared an identical burn from Nero with ImgBurn you should see that the time taken to burn the same data would be very similar. With Nero you think you're getting 16x from the off but you really aren't.....
  9. From: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/5311298.stm 'Crocodile Hunter' Irwin killed The naturalist worked to protect Australian wildlife Irwin with tiger cubs Australian environmentalist and television personality Steve Irwin has died during a diving accident. Mr Irwin, 44, was killed by a stingray barb to the chest while he was filming an underwater documentary in Queensland's Great Barrier Reef. Paramedics from the nearby city of Cairns rushed to treat him at the scene but were unable to save him. Mr Irwin was known for his television show The Crocodile Hunter and his work with native Australian wildlife. Police in Queensland confirmed the naturalist's death and said his family had been notified. Mr Irwin was married with two young children. "It is believed that Mr Irwin collapsed after being stung by a stingray at Batt Reef off Port Douglas at about 11:00 am (0100 GMT)," a police statement quoted by AFP news agency said. "His crew called for medical treatment and the Queensland medical helicopter responded, however Mr Irwin had died." Documentaries Mr Irwin had built up what was a small reptile park in Queensland into what is now Australia Zoo, a major centre for Australian wildlife. Mr Irwin's documentaries were shown around the world He was famous for handling dangerous creatures such as crocodiles, snakes and spiders, and his documentaries on his work with crocodiles drew a worldwide audience. But he also courted controversy with a series of stunts. He sparked outrage across Australia after cradling his one-month-old son a metre away from the reptile during a show at Australia Zoo. A probe was also launched to investigate whether Mr Irwin and his team interacted too closely with penguins and whales while filming in the Antarctic, but no action was taken. Foreign Minister Alexander Downer praised Mr Irwin for his work to promote Australia. "The minister knew him, was fond of him and was very, very appreciative of all the work he'd done to promote Australia overseas," Mr Downer's spokesman said.

  12. Dinner time here - been busy for days now, Friday took a call from my Uncle to tell me my Gran who is 90 in 2 months has taken a turn for the worse. Drove a round trip of 500 miles to sit by her bedside for 3 hours on friday. Yesterday was manic as our new bathroom suite was delivered, today I drove round the countryside swapping the faulty items from the delivery so our fitter can have all the bits when he starts the installation tomorrow I could do with some of that now.....
  13. I has that a couple of times in beta tests - made me too ! Makes a change from the dour MS messages you see from time to time.
  14. I would love to join in this one but I can honestly say not much of it makes sense to a PC like me....
  15. Edit: Damn sorry - the DMA bit was really for another post I had just read before the phone rung !! That will teach me not to multitask eh ? For what it's worth I would get some decent Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media....
  16. Don't forget that Windoze will report DMA as being correct even if it's not. It's a well known problem, you really have nothing to lose by following the FAQ on DMA and deleting the controller. I was dubious at first but honestly it all works ok again when you re-boot ! Do that before you do anything else eh ?
  17. Onestlyhay interdbmay ometimessay Iway avehay otnay ethay aintestfay ueclay atwhay ouyay areway oinggay onway aboutway !!

  21. You joke but we all know that within 4 weeks that drive will be more shagged than Jenna Jameson.....
  22. I should have realised it was a media problem ! Sorry back to the latest problem......
  23. I just wanted to add my 2 cents to what the guys have already told you - those CMC MAG discs are awful, check out the media tests I did with the same dye below. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=654 Whilst the red in the graphs looks pretty it's not a good thing in terms of playback of your discs. If you are in the US you can get Taiyo Yuden from here, http://www.meritline.com/taiyo-yuden-dvd-media.html Personally I prefer the Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R discs as I find discs burnt at 16x do not have the same quality scores. Good luck
  24. The last quote sums it up for me "What the hell was that...?"
  25. I only confessed cos I knew you wouldn't laugh mate !!
