Can you post a copy of one of your burn logs with these blank DVD?R's ? A guess right now would be crap media causing your problems - maybe CMC MAG dye hence the failures to verify.

What dye is it ? TYG03 ?? If so I have used almost 80 of them and not had any problems, the quality score, PI/PIF errors are better when burnt at 12x but even at 16x they are more than acceptable...

Ha ha She will be doing the same with jewelery, make up, clothes etc so alls fair !

Depends where you are in the world - for UK/Europe I recommend - www.svp.co.uk I get mine from here and they list dye type as well as brand name. In the US I have heard good things about www.meritline.com

Depends what you want to do - if you're looking to write to blank DVDs you will need to change the drive. If you're looking to play films etc but still see that problem then you can try a firmware update at www.rpc1.org.

The second series is better than the first imho - I liked Ecclestone and Tennant took a while to convince but the episodes are better - well except for a strange one with Peter Kay as an Absorbitron..... that was naff

I use a lens cleaner every now and then when I remember, like polo I use the plastic brush model and have seen no ill effects so far.

Could still be crap media, PC drives are more picky than standalone players, any chance of putting one of these discs in your drive, opening ImgBurn and copy pasting the info that appears in the window on the right of the GUI ? In the absence of a log it will tell us details of the dye etc
