I remember my first firmware flash too Shamus - I was cacking it as I was just getting into all this, I think in the end all the assurances I got from the regulars over at DVDD ("Do it you nob", "Just f'in flash it" etc) made me take the plunge !! Have done it loads now for my NEC and BenQ drives without any probs.

It does that by default I think db - if the address is mostly correct e.g. //forum.imgburn.com/index.php it just loads up the homepage if the page you actually typed does not exist. I just changed a few more of the numbers etc and it does this every time.

I think normal is stretching it a bit boss !!

What ??? I can't believe that most of the new films come out in the US on DVD before they do here, I can't think of many that came out earlier in the UK. I am just pissed at Sony - I have been patiently waiting for the PS3 to come out and was happy enough to wait until Nov for a global release and then this ! Makes me want to - honestly yesterday I was looking at the Xbox 360 cos I am so pissed at this. I have never been interested in one before but I may just consider buying one now....

You will more than likely pay over the odds for a drive that Dell sell as well. If you're in the US check out www.meritline.com as they sell a lot of drives and the prices always look reasonable to me. If your in the UK and some parts of Europe check out www.svp.co.uk - I use this place all the time for media and drives - highly recommended !

My last couple of burns were to the Verb 16x DVD+R that polo mentioned above, nearly all got a quality score on DVDinfoPro of over 99% - they really are great discs.
