Have you noticed the burns taking longer ? If so it would seem to point to the drive not accepting as much data whereas if they are taking the same time its just mis-reporting.... Not much help either way I suppose

I think that ID is for the newer DL's with an 8x burn speed Shamus..... altho I might be talking out my arse again !

I think my TYG02's started off around 97% with the BenQ and now average 99%

If your burning a DL image to a DL blank always select the .mds.... There we all had a go at answering a vague question !

Unfortunately you weren't to know that other DL media is not up to the quality of Verbs - thanks for letting us know.

I agree with that I only buy Verb DVD+R DL's I have tested other DL media and its no where near as good !

Ok well this place gets recommended by other forum members in the US - you may already use them I don't know..... Its my sons but I think I use it as much as he does - got the hang of putting movies on the 2gb mem card now as well !!

You would need to find a retailer (probably an online one) that shows you the Media ID of the discs you are buying. As you now know the name on the box has little to do with who makes the discs..... I am not sure which of the quality disc manufacturers are making Lightscribe discs at the moment...... Where in the world are you ? Country will be fine - not full address

Look db has been mental for a lot longer than you so I am sticking by the original forum nutter.......

I haven't done it myself but in QSuite you can turn off WOPC or SOLID BURN (I think its that) and the drive will then burn media faster than the rated speeds. Pain_Man obviously you can't see that if your QSuite isn't playing ball but I remember when I first installed the drive and was exploring there was the option to burn discs faster (by disabling the function above) if you are sure the media quality is ok......
