  1. Pure speculations, but it might have something to do with this issue in the log file: http://www.chips.navy.mil/archives/97_oct/file9.htm
  2. It's not there. It has been suggested several times to add it, but I guess the main reason for not adding it is that Windows sometimes report it wrongly back.
  3. It was important for Joe From Phila. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=7006
  4. Looks as your writer doesn't like the brand of media. What brand of media do you use? A full log would show it. Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs If it's a HP computer there is a later firmware that might work better. http://forum.imgburn.com/lofiversion/index.php/t6389.html
  5. Can you play the burned disc on your regular computer without issues?
  6. Not sure I understand you. You get a burning error or a playback error? If it's the first - can you post the failed burn log? You'll find it here: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
  7. Your model # is SHW-1635S and your currently installed firmware is ver YGS4.
  8. Hi and welcome to the forum, Rossy! VOB Splitter 0.2 can split VOB files. The issue might be that a stand alone player needs correct .ifo files also. It sounds as you only have one large .vob file and not any .ifo/.bup files? Normally the max size of a .vob is 1GB as that is the standard for stand alone players.
  9. There is a later firmware for that writer - ver YSOZ to download (dated 8 June 2006): http://www.liteonit.com/global/index.php?o...r&Itemid=75 If you update it: No disc in the tray Tray closed Restart the computer after the update You also might want to try to burn those discs at a lower speed - the current one is MAX = 8x.
  10. Hi and welcome to the forum, Tim22! In most cases it's because your writer doesn't like the brand of discs. You could post a burning log of the failed burn, it could tell us more. You'll find it here: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
  11. I do think you should try the Verbatims.
  12. Hi and welcome to the forum, Toni! The available speeds are 2.4x, 4x, 6x. The ones supported by the writer). For the 1x I guess it uses a generic write approach. Might try one of those speeds. Tried to find an updated firmware for that writer (A Dell?) but no luck. You might get better luck with Verbatim 2.4x rated discs (Made in Singapore) as the ones you use can be tricky in older writers. Focus Servo Error might indicate a faulty writer, but I guess you doesn't have any issues burning other branded discs?
  13. In the Build mode there is a tab to change it to whatever you want.

    hi,everybody

Hi and welcome to the forum, dido!
  15. I was curious as I have the same writer/firmware, but not the same media code as you. Here it can see the 80 min CD as it should be. PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-115D 1.22 (ATA) Current Profile: CD-R Disc Information: Status: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 359
  16. Look in section '4.2.12.1 Lite-On' and '4.2.12.2 Advanced' of this guide - http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6392 the example is if you are dealing with a Lite-On - but just adopt it to the Benq instead.
  17. There is also a little program available on the net that will reset the counter of the 500 index.
  18. You used the same media as now?
  19. You might get better success with Verbatim BD discs.
  20. Normally ImgBurn sets it to the 40MB value the first time you install it if you have that amount of MB installed.
  21. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6232
  22. Should be this if it's a DVD Video project.
  23. MediaCodeSpeedEdit is the way to go.
  24. True, I have firmware made from MediaCodeSpeedEdit.
  25. Hi and welcome to the forum, Marcel T! Not sure what you mean. I have the SATA version of that writer and no problems here and the bit setting works here also.
