  1. Easier to burn one layer than two layers if the laser beam is in not so good shape.
  2. Looks to me as a dead burner.
  3. With that burner and media combination, I would try with 6x as the write speed.
  4. Check in Windows Device Manager how it's set up there. How is it connected? USB/ATA?
  5. Normal value for a Verbatim -R DVD is this: Edit: According to mmalves these values are ok, even if I never seen that other value on my Verbatims. DVD-R = 2297888 or 2298496

  8. Can be tricky to burn with older burners. Only thing you can do with the current burner is to try the other speeds 4x and 6x. Verbatim is also worth a try.
  9. You have a CD writer, not a DVD writer.
  10. There is a later firmware. http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GSA-4163B/files.html Might be that the burner is to old to deal with the media code you use.

  19. Think he/she already tried 2.4x.
  20. Tried a cleaning disc?

  23. bootmec.exe was the file name I got and it can't/shouldn't be extracted with WinRAR.
  24. Hope you use a lifebuoy.
  25. I've never owned an LG so I have no clue how they perform. I would find out what media code I'm going to burn and then check at MyCE to see scanning results with the combination of media and burner. Like this thread for the LG burner. http://club.myce.com/f91/lg-gh22ns50-lg-gh22ls50-311889/ http://club.myce.com/f91/lg-gsa-h22n-post-your-scans-questions-here-191607/
