ImgBurn can't read copy protected games.

The path in the tab File Locations is only affecting the Build mode, not the Read mode as it has its own file location selection option. In the Read mode (and also in the settings tab for file locations perhaps) it can end up in the My Documents folder if you have it set to Generate automatically if you don't have permission to save to the hard disk with largest free space.

Look in the tab for Read in the Settings. It has it's own setting for destination of images. I guess the setting you have there is 'Generated Automatically' for the option Default Destination. With that setting enabled, it will pick the hard disk with the largest free size.

The only speed I got to work with that media/burner was 4x. The higher ones just gave verify errors.

Might be that your drive is not a genuine Nec. Like a Dell, Compaq rebadged one. Was/is it shipped in some branded computer? If so, you need that manufactures release of firmware.

Could try to update the firmware. Yours is NX06. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Optiarc/AD-7530B/files.html A lower write speed could also be tried. Now you tried the 8x. There is also 3.3x and 6x to try.

Can you post the full? The first part is missing. Your issue is a bad burn. The drive can't read what it just burned.

Suggestion. Try a Linux Debian forum. They should know exactly how you set up a new computer with that distribution. Could be that the files you try to burn is the pure update files for an existing installation. There should be no need to mess around with adding boot stuff to already created iso files distributed in a package. Looks to me as it's a very mixed quality in that spindle. So it sounds as the media.

Pretty much that your burner doesn't like the media you are using. Could be a bad disc in a spindle. There is also only one speed to select from, so if the next disc also failed, you need to get another brand of discs.

If it's a more than around three years old that computer it could be that there are both USB 2.0 and the older and much slower USB 1.0/1.1 amongst those ports.

Your saying that you have used several computers in the past. Have you burnt anything before with this computer? The basic issue is that your computer can't feed the burner fast enough with data. To me it looks as it's connected to an USB 1.0/1.1 channel. Tried to attach the USB to another USB switch on the computer?

You have set it in BIOS to load the CD at startup? Can you also post the burn log? Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
