  1. The brand name is e-blue, I'm not sure where it comes from

Which is why others have asked you for the log file so they can see the media code those disc's have or have faked.

Ps2 is as already mentioned very picky with media, having a crap laser does not help it either.

which way is the ps2 loading thru swap magic or dedicated chip ?

If swap magic that may be your problem and not the disc, try zoneloader if so.

Or try some other media, preferably good like suggested taiyo yuden or verb mcc

  2. Gonna test the newlink Sata enclosure I will be getting on Monday from Svp with my M2N32-SLI Deluxe which has an external sata port ) i think or rather hope) was built at same time as my msi 975x and e6600 not used it other than to install windows about 6 months ago, been sitting gathering dust in my bedroom.

Annoyingly i forgot to add a couple of external sata ports to my svp order, then i could have used one on my msi.

This should be the ideal solution, If I decide to buy a 20x dvd writer, you have yours already L_UK ? (liteon)

  3. would have been easier.. :D

just noticed on reinstalling dvdinfopro to this computer i get accuracy and balanced MAX LBA in window etc on pioneer 108 for scan, this unique to my pioneer 108 ?

Been a long time since i used dvdinfo with a pioneer..

  4. also after looking at pdf specs of your toshiba tivo etc, it only mentions dvd-r, so the auto book type to -r when using your single layer +, looks like it hates dual layer

if your tosh is out of warranty you could open it have a look at which model dvd-rom drive is in there, or if you happen to know, maybe there is firmware for just the rom drive that you could install rom drive in pc and update or even replace the rom drive to one that plays dual layer, this depends on the dynamics of the tray/rom drive in your tivo etc.

looked for ages to find which model is in there, have also asked toshiba for firmware maybe they will give me link
