The brand name is e-blue, I'm not sure where it comes from
Which is why others have asked you for the log file so they can see the media code those disc's have or have faked.
Ps2 is as already mentioned very picky with media, having a crap laser does not help it either.
which way is the ps2 loading thru swap magic or dedicated chip ?
If swap magic that may be your problem and not the disc, try zoneloader if so.
Or try some other media, preferably good like suggested taiyo yuden or verb mcc

sorry but those disc's are not very good, if you try using verbatim dl+ order code 43562 you should see those errors go.
If you do get verbs make sure your writers firmware is up to date, If you still get errors then, it may be down to a faulty writer.

Or stick it in the oven and 20 minutes later, plastic fantastic. Or if you got a Mac Toast It.

With so many features you are spoiling us ambassador.

Not even BD-R iso would take that long.

pity you did not have 1 -R DL and the layer break was spot on, as your player specs only really listed the - format
-
not forgetting imgburn which has functions for this.

i'm surprised this hasn't gone off topic yet

What about the firewire on ya 975 board, you used it with your sumvision/ how you get on ? and is the onboard firewire you have 1394 Via ?

Gonna test the newlink Sata enclosure I will be getting on Monday from Svp with my M2N32-SLI Deluxe which has an external sata port ) i think or rather hope) was built at same time as my msi 975x and e6600 not used it other than to install windows about 6 months ago, been sitting gathering dust in my bedroom.
Annoyingly i forgot to add a couple of external sata ports to my svp order, then i could have used one on my msi.
This should be the ideal solution, If I decide to buy a 20x dvd writer, you have yours already L_UK ? (liteon)

Ask the squirrel's, they know everything that goes on in the forest
Don't ask them they're nuts.

Thanks thought i was seeing things, like i said been a long time since i used my pioneer drives.
-
would have been easier..
just noticed on reinstalling dvdinfopro to this computer i get accuracy and balanced MAX LBA in window etc on pioneer 108 for scan, this unique to my pioneer 108 ?
Been a long time since i used dvdinfo with a pioneer..
-
open up dvdinfo pro, select the drive you have with the already burnt dual layer in and press either media icon or pi po icon
-
put one you have already burned in
-
And they all lived happily ever after.
-
looks like it's 4 4 girls
-
It will play +r if the ones you have tried were burned on your pioneer 109 as that automatically changes the +r to dvd-rom for you , got a feeling that if you had a burner that left the book type as +r your Toshiba would reject it and say no disc.
-
also after looking at pdf specs of your toshiba tivo etc, it only mentions dvd-r, so the auto book type to -r when using your single layer +, looks like it hates dual layer
if your tosh is out of warranty you could open it have a look at which model dvd-rom drive is in there, or if you happen to know, maybe there is firmware for just the rom drive that you could install rom drive in pc and update or even replace the rom drive to one that plays dual layer, this depends on the dynamics of the tray/rom drive in your tivo etc.
looked for ages to find which model is in there, have also asked toshiba for firmware maybe they will give me link
