clean the lens on home dvd player, set booktype to dvd-rom(got a feeling that drive will not allow this without hacking he firmware) get some good quality dvd-r and try buy another home dvd player and get a yamada or Umax also try and get one that plays [mpeg 4/ divx/xvid and has hdmi] everything i put in brackets would be optional and only suggested so as not to have to replace your dvd player again within 2 years. You would have to be certain that the source files are good.

That was an ImgBurn error as It cannot read Encrypted dvd's and has no keys. Or are you just and advert ?

I prefer USB2 to Firewire, more usb2 ports than 1394. IF the external does both you got no worries and can make that choice yourself

Nvidia seem to say has TV out to SD or HDTV this would depend on the card,s manufacturer as some take off features or even add them to their own specs. If it has TV out and further to that it is HDTV out you will get fantastic output to an LCD tft monitor or TV that has component in at 1280x720 for 720P high def or if it can accept 1920x1080 then you would get 1080p. The res of the actual output would depend on your source material though.

1394 is a little faster than usb2, although the average you get from the particular tests we did should be left to go all the way till end of drive and verify complete (yeah i know would have taken a long time in your case as you got a 200 gig hd) to get proper average, as mine in first few minutes of test are higher than the full verify log I posted. I witnessed my drive going below 30,000 on full test yet it started at 39,000+ etc forgot to add, depends on the 1394 chip as well as hard drive in question as some are better than others. My firewire I tested an hour ago on a Soundblaster Audigy 2 plat card and an old samsung spinpoint 160 gig only managed 33,000 avg and max of about the same, using usb 2 it was just a tad bit faster but still only 33-34 meg avg and max so really no difference both interfaces performed equally not as good as the other drive I tested earlier. I prefer usb2 as I get lots of connector's/ ports etc.

depends on your GFX card which one do you have ? open IB then settings and write tab/ then tick DVD-RAM / BD-RE Fast-write ok it and burn again

What make is your writer, what type of disc's are you using + or - Single layer or Dual ? post the log In the meantime, if your using dvd+R single or dual and your burner supports it book type the + to DVD-ROM with the little book icon bottom right of ImgBurn's write menu. Use the lowest speed available for your dual layer media if that is what your using , Verbatim dual layer is best and + format only as -r dual layer is not very good. If your using single layer then burn at either 4x or 8x and use good media TYG02 or TYG03 or MCC verbs

its music match access layer look for the service and stop it then delete it from system 32 folder so if thats what your using to play mp3,s everytime you use MM it will come back

Do as suggested and drop speed to 8x as that would be your best option to avoid the bottleneck you seem to be having. Mmalves your usb2 must be broken if it can only do 15meg a second mine can sustain about 28 meg a second max though on average its more like 24-26 meg a second as I used to burn at 16x over usb2 with no problems if I wanted. USB2 HD to USB2 Writer would do about 15 meg (actually mine can do between 18-19 meg before dying when going from usb2 to usb2) a second at a push and firewire is only slightly faster than usb2 even though firewire has slower data signalling at 400mbps it is a little faster.
