  1. Something doesn't look right, see if there is a firmware update for your drive, your drive is not recognizing that media for what it should be.
  2. Well, when you think about it, a 4GB file is a 4GB file regardless of how and why it got to that size.
  3. It looks as though that your drive/firmware doesn't fully support that media. Your first log is showing supported speeds of 4, 8, 12, 16 yet you second log is only showing supported speeds of only 4X. I searched for your drive on rpc1 to look for a firmware update but couldn't find it, try with some different media, see if that works.
  4. Oh, don't feel bad kev I didn't post that to make you feel bad, I just didn't want him to come back telling us that he couldn't fit a 4.6GB image on the blank media.
  5. I thought so, you're a bit fucked with a fishing hook though.
  6. I use win2k as well without any such problem, so polo is right, it's not an ImgBurn problem. Usualy, this kind of thing is down to media / drive problems, can you please post a log so we can see what's going on?
  7. Solo strike, Like kev said, ignore 'times' mentioned on blank media, it only comes into play if you're making your own recordings. It's all about what size the file is, (In data terms) what they would be refering to is this, if you make a 5 minute clip in real high quality footage it may equate to say 1 GIG of data, however if you were to do the same clip in real poor quality, it may only equate to 400 MB of data. Oh, and I got to mention one more thing, even though blank media are rated at 4.7GIG, in real terms it is only about 4.38GIG, as the quoted figure is in bytes, so when you divide it back by 1024 not 1000 it equals 4.38GB.
  8. If I'm understanding you right, you can creat any volume label you wish.
  9. A bit like removing an arrow DB?
  10. Happy birthday mate, have a great day.
  11. It could be, anything is possible, but looking at the logs, I'd say unlikely.
  12. Not that I can think of, just try some +R format media (in the good stuff) I found that +R format are 'easier' to burn than the -R format.
  13. Allready answerd in this thread, please don't start multi threads, it confuses the issue. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=2394
  14. Start with getting rid of these things, they are nothing short of garbage. Get some Verbatim (with MCC dye) or Taiyo Yuden's, you're problems will disappear.
  15. I think you might be right boss, I've had them before, but in my case with an LG4120/A117 firmware, it was only supported at 8X.

Yeah kev, I even wrote to them experessing my concern, their attatude was one of 'we don't give a shit' take it or leave it, so I left it. Stupid bastards.

Same here DB, believe or not these were TDK branded discs, I have not bought a single TDK disc sinse that day. The sad part is that I burnt about ten of these discs, they were all good porn too. #39;(
  18. It's all about what your drive and firmware can support with that type of media, in your case, you're talking about 'rolls royce' media, it is not uncomon for this type of media to support much higher speeds. Again it's all down to media/drive/firmware. this can also happen the other way around, where the media is rated at say 16X, but the drive / firmware will only burn it at say 8X. Just as a side note, if the media is rated at 8X max, I would recomend you do not exeed this speed, even if your drive/firmware supports it at a speed higher than that.

  20. disc duplicators melt down? Where do you get 'disc duplicators' out of HDD? It's a figure of speech for things going mental keeping up with a task.
  21. I must say I'm a bit stumped, I'm also surprised that these disks/drive are supporting 2X speed, all of your logs show that you're failing toward the outside edge of the disks. All I can suggest is to try different disks. BTW, what is that drive you got? I went hunting for firmware update for it, and I couldn't even find it. Edit: I found it, seems like it's very new in the market. Just as an outside chance, try some +R media.
  22. If you're talking about burning the same image, no, your HDD would have a melt down.
