There is a new list of differences for 1.0.0.12, but where is the new base file itself? Also, could we get the differences also as a unified diff, the html doesn't work that well with longer lines.

Incorporate DVDisaster-like error recovery
khagaroth replied to laserfan's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
DVDisater works pretty well, it already saved me a few times. In one case the disc was completely unreadable as the file system was totally hosed, but it still managed to fix it. It would have been nice to have this in ImgBurn, but it's not exactly simple to implement this kind of functionality, so the chances that it gets done are pretty low. -
Translation updated for 2.5.3.

Translation updated, added missing translation for "Kill system error". See first post.

+1 For now I left it untranslated, but if I'm to make a wild guess, it's used to suppress some error message.

Difficulties of translation into Russian (SOLVED)
khagaroth replied to namchik's topic in ImgBurn Translations
I agree it's a reasonable workaround. It's also a reason why any guide for preparing a translatable application emphasizes the importance of usage of complete sentences with numbered variables and discourages string fragmentation. After all, different languages have different word order, and the translator should have the ability to reorder all the parts of the string as needed. -
Difficulties of translation into Russian (SOLVED)
khagaroth replied to namchik's topic in ImgBurn Translations
There is a lot of languages like that, most have 3 plural forms, but there are some languages that have 4 and one (at least the only I know) has 5 different plural forms. All the languages have different rules for applying the correct plural form. The only translation system that supports this correctly is the gnu gettext that is used by many OSS projects. There is a version for Delphi/C++ builder - dxgettext. The translation files contain a string used to determine the correct plural form, for my language (Czech, and it definitely isn't the most complicated) it looks like this: nplurals=3; plural=(n==1) ? 0 : (n>=2 && n<=4) ? 1 : 2;\n" This means that my language has 3 plural forms, one for 1, the second for 2, 3, 4 and the third for 0 and the rest. For strings where there are any plurals, the translation file contains all the variants, ie: msgid "%s file" msgid_plural "%s files" msgstr[0] "%s soubor" msgstr[1] "%s soubory" msgstr[2] "%s souborů" and the correct one is selected at runtime depending on the value of the variable in the string. With the example with files, the translation would be: 0 files - 0 souborů 1 file - 1 soubor 2 (3, 4) files - 2 (3, 4) soubory 5 files - 5 souborů -
Updated for 2.5.2 (see first post).

First post updated with language file for 2.5.1. [OT]I really hate that the forum software doesn't bump the thread to top after a edit.[/OT]

Because 4.7GB == 4.37GiB. Where GB is decimal, as used by disc manufacturers, so that they can boast about bigger sizes of media, and GiB is binary, as normally used in computers and also reported by the OS for example (that's for example also the reason why a 640GB HDD is reported by the OS as 596GB only).
-
Argh, just a bump, edits should move topics to front.

There is an option in settings, that should do what you want, so check if you have it enabled (Settings... -> Build ->Page 1 -> Advanced - Sort Files By Source List Order). But it only works for files, not for folders.
-
Also when overburning some drives report a failed burn even thou in reality it finished successfully and the disc works correctly.
-
Could/Will this be used to convert filenames for ISO9660 too?
-
Yes, the icons work correctly now. But now you have two duplicate icons in resources, you can safely delete the one named "1" and only leave the one named "AAA". I deleted it myself and it works fine.

Taskbar icon is still broken, it only loads the 16x16 8bit icon, not the 32x32 32bit one as it should (I use windows 7). Seems like this is because VB's icon support is broken, this article should help you fix it.

Just adding the manifest without linking to comctl32 and initializing common controls works sometimes, but it is not recommended and in most cases the app will just crash complaining about incorrect configuration.
-
After you fix all the IBG reading bugs, please link your program to ComCtl32.lib and add a manifest, so that it can use styles in XP and newer. If you use some custom controls it will require some more work, but you can find all the needed info on MSDN. It's not like it will add any useful functionality, but unskinned programs just look weird these days.

Yeah, I somehow missed that when reading changelog, now the problem is how to translate it, there is no difference between the two in my language and there is not enough space to somehow differentiate it with a description.
-
What's the difference between Shut Down and Power Off?
-
Um, no? I don't mean the Select folder dialog itself, but what appears after you select the folder, for example the dialog "You've only selected 1 folder! ... Does the '...' folder represent the root directory for the image content..." etc.
-
Any chance you can make the dialogs that appear when adding folders (DVD video, OS disk, root folder etc.) translatable. It's the most confusing thing for users.

Filling slack space with par file redunancy for archiving
khagaroth replied to Lazybones's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
Much better option is dvdisaster. You can either create separate redundancy files or interleave the recovery info directly in you ISO.
