  1. Ditto, it's been a while. I am not into the olympics but hopefully we can hold off the Russians. It's too close.
  2. Thanks for the great answers. I just didn't want to trash a DL disc. In over five years, I have only ever had one coaster and that was a DL. I tried burning a DL before programs became sufficient at it. Ok, another question. If I take the same files and create a image file. Will the created MD5 have the layer change position?
  3. I have recorded Blu Ray format to single layer DVD fine and works brilliantly (don't have a BD burner). The disc then plays on a BD player. I have now created a double layers worth of data and was wondering if Imgburn would still remember to do a layer change? I just wanted to know before it ruined a DL disc. It is in BD file structure with BDMV and Certifcate directories. Thanks.
  4. I'm ok. I just noticed a new version and decided to have a quick look in.
  5. Happy belated birthday.
  6. As you found out. The compatibility is not good in most players. I saw a test somewhere that tested Verb DL-R on 20 players and only 2 worked successfully. The same DVD burned as a Verb DL+R worked on 18 of the 20 players. Other makes of DL+R seem to have less compatibility than the dye used on Verbatims. My Sony 585 works with Verbatim DL+R but not any other makes. Also, DL+ also has DVD ROM bitsetting to improve compatibility.
  7. Excellent new version. I already had success of doing a DL+R using the build function.

    ImgBurn V2

I have recently been told about a v2 and look forward to whenever it come out. It sounds like a great program is about to come even greater.
  9. I have a 200GB and soon a 300GB hard disk full of ISO's. I have them in external enclosures so they can be used on any computer. You cannot zip a DVD as the files are already highly compressed.
  10. Memorex with the same dye DVD's are worse. It sounds that even though the dye is the same, the quality control isn't the same. I have never had one Datsafe disc fail me yet.
  11. I have had 100% success with Datasafe Ritek D01 discs. It is important to use the latest firmware to maximise writing success.
  12. I have had success with Ritek D01 dye. Every one so far has burned fine and played in most of my players. It seems my Sony NS585 doesn't like any DL media whereas, my older Sony NS900 is fine with them. I am going to try Traxdata next which uses Ricoh dye. Verbatims are still expensive at ?4 each.
  13. If I burn 1:1 on a DL disc. Is it still best to use DVD Decrypter or has there been changes so that IMGBurn would be better to burn the ISO? I suspect it won't be any different to using Decrypter to burn when doing 1:1.
  14. I did my first encode last night with HC. I did notice is was a bit slow but the results are fantastic. I still use Quenc for DVD's requiring less reduction and I want a better result than Shrink. I tend to use it for doing stuff recorded off the TV where I put 4 42 minute episodes of a series on a disc. I am happy with the free version of DVD-RB so I can't use it's ISO function. I can always use Imgtool classic and imgburn afterwards.
