Burning operation failed (after 4 successful ones)
spinningwheel replied to Darryl66's topic in ImgBurn Support
Hi and welcome Daryl66; First of all, update your copy of ImgBurn to 2.5.0.0, a lot of things have been added/modified since 2.4.4.0 Second, read this about yopur choice of media. Third, I/O errors are the result of the media/firmware/burner not playing nicely with each other...nothing more. Fourth, check your firmware for an upgrade...if available. Questionable media will sometimes work and most times fail, try to get some Verbs made in Singapore or switch to Taiyo Yuden discs. -
ballin1; Thanks for updating what you did to overcome the problem. Every solution made by a contributor to the forum helps with noobs that really read the forum before posting their questions...

The author of this program, LIGHTNING UK, has answered this and many other questions/suggestions/complaints many times as he did in this post. It is, after all, his program and he will integrate what he wants if and when he wants/needs it. No amount of keeping the discussion is going to sway him one way or the other. Period.

Read this from the programs author.

If ImgBurn verified the burn then this is not an ImgBurn problem and I would suggest that you ask at a forum dedicated to the PS2.
-
Would you care to share whatever you did with the rest of us?
-
Nope, just like ringing a bell...once it rings you can't take it back..... Later all, almost quitting time and I have to get home...have a nice weekend.

I looked and didn't find a newer firmware so it looks like your burner is up to date. I looked that the Verbatim MCC identifier and ithe discs have a slightly mixed set of reviews, but not really all that bad. Why did you abort 87 seconds into the burn? ImgBurn goes through a serious amount of testing before a new release is issued, so the .0 remark is really not necessary or on topic.

The laws of physics will always prevail. The inside of the disc spins slower than the outside (distance and data write space available). Where is the 2.5.0.0 log as requested by the Boss ???

L-EC Uncorrectable Error during VERIFY: 2 Coasters
spinningwheel replied to jazzytaxi's topic in ImgBurn Support
Toad; Unless you have the same equipment and identical config to your machine, your problem may not be caused by the same source. Please start your own thread and post your very own log for us to see. spinner -
Discs do not start out at the requested speed, especially if it's set to burn at max. The disc has to ramp up to the speed selected. Look at your completion bar in your submitted jpegs. The 2.4.4.0 is nearly twice as far in the graph as the 2.5.0.0. Look at the completion data once the disc has been verified and you should see the final speeds obtained...oh yea...get back to 2.5.0.0 as we do not support earlier versions in the least. edit: rats too slow....

.ISO file burned to DVD-DL not executable - please help :(
spinningwheel replied to paula612's topic in ImgBurn Support
The only discs we recommend for dual layer burning are the DL's made by Verbatim, all others are pure problems. This iccurred because the lowest speed these will write, if they work, is 4X And why didn't you verify your burn? -
DVD plays on 1 player, but not the other
spinningwheel replied to lacollier883's topic in ImgBurn Support
Without verifying the burn everything looks ok. Do it again and turn on verify please. -
F F S How would we know? Give it a try in your machine.

Hi and welcome robisok; Your choice of media is poor at best. The discs use CMC Mag dye and that is made by one of the crappiest manufacturers around. If you're doing DL discs, only use Verbatims that are made in Singapore. Read more here. spinner

You also might want to try the new updated ImgBurn also... Maybe a firmware update for your burner? Your discs and burner are not playing nice together.

Question regarding the following FAQ thread

Hi and welcome napoleon; Here is a link to other discussions about your media. Your problem is that your device does not like your choice of media, try the Verbatims as advised in the link I supplied.

Hi and welcome Rania; You cannot simply copy 2 dvd's onto one disc and expect it to play correctly, the system isn't built like that. Use an authoring program, like DVDShrink, which I believe will allow you to manipulate the files into something that you can use.

Hi and welcome badboy; Have a read here.., There can be many issues witht he satnav discs and whether the copies can be made workable. However, we do not assist with the copying of protected media, which yours may be. Read the link and then try Google to get what you need.

Question regarding the following FAQ thread
spinningwheel replied to salem's topic in ImgBurn Support
If you have used all the programs that have been successful in the past and they have failed to remove the rootkit you may have a next generation virus as the developers of the infection keep updating the damned thing to attempt to stay ahead of the pack. Unless someone here or elsewhere has a better idea, I would suggest that you update your scanners every couple of hours until one of them catches up to the next gen of the infection. Then...do not download any avi/media players or other nonsense that someone wants you to in order to look at something that you downed from a torrent or other questionable site. -
I usually run EndItAll 2 before doing any work that involves burning. It should stop any conflict you may have going on and it's advised that you do nothing else while burning in order to obtain the cleanest burn possible.
