Your drive can't read the data that was just written onto the disc, here's a few suggestions: 1. Get rid of the Riteks and get some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DataLifePlus discs. 2. Check for newer firmware that may include support for your media. 3. Try using different speeds, it's a myth that the data you're burning needs to be done at 2.4X or the slowest speed. 4. Try cleaning the drive laser head with a cleaning disc. 5. Get a better drive.

Did you read this: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 Maybe it will help...

Your discs are made by Ritek and rebadged by Memorex, at one time they were among the best in quality and production; now they just plain suck most of the time. When we recommend Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden it's because they are the best available, and we can see that there is no sense in buying crap that is either going to fail at the initial burn or will lose data over time and turn into a worthless disc. Since your new drive burns the Ritek media fine for now, enjoy it and happy burning. When it fails, as it will eventually, try the Verbs or TY's before throwing it out.

You need better media than this! Are you doing other things while trying to burn? If so, don't. Try other speeds when burning.

Jim; 1. Post a copy of the log. 2. Without that I would guess that the way yu authored the disc doesn't link the menue's correctly. 3. +R and -R were important at one time. Unless you're giving them out to people with really old machines it really doesn't matter. If you absolutely need the best compatibility that you can get, use Taiyo Yuden -R discs. 4. Don't overburn, it may be cheaper than Verbatim Dual Layers (Made in Singapore) but it poses a lot of problems with the end data viability.

1. Clean your drive. 2. Buy better discs. 3. Check the cable your drive is attached to, replace with an 80 wire if you have a 40 wire.

Wow....

Yup; whether you believe in your media or not, whether you believe in our glorification threads or not, your media is crap. The Philips discs that you have are made by CMC, the single worst producer of media since Prinko dropped from the major producer scene.

I don't have a repair kit, but I have had exceptional good luck using Turtle Wax liquid car polish and a clean, dry, soft cloth. Use it just like you were doing a spit shine, small circles over the scratched areas until the scratch is either gone or polished to a faint mark on the media. Follow up with a clean, soft, dry cloth and buff to a shine.

Well...I'm glad you liked one of the replies....I'll sleep better knowing that.... =))

1- Media - Overruled - I've always used the same media and never had problems Ritek was a great media at one time long ago, but now it's mostly crap and if you already have this idea why come here for help. You've undoubtedly taken some time to look around and have read for yourself that Verbatim (Singapore) makes the best DL discs. 2- Firmware Update - Overulled - Same as above Do you update your OS and your virus/malware/spyware programs? Why bother if they used to work before? Firmware, when available, correects problems in the original code and adds media code burning specs not included in the original drive's arsenal. 3- Upgrade my memory (512 MB only) - I think that's not the solution either, cause I made a lot of successful copy's I ran for years on 512 without a problem also so this is really not a concern unless you're going to be running other programs at the same time as your burning. 4- Need to Format C: - Has been a lot of time without formating C:, but I've always defragmented the HD, but anyway why suddenly the problems would appear and are they really related? As long as you have defragged the HDD fairly recently, reimaging the drive should not be necessary. 5- My Burner is Dead - Maybe this is the more likely hypothesis, but I can burn without any problem dvds and cd's (using nero), the only problem I'm having is with DUAL LAYER BURNS. So my burner is partially dead only, is it possible? Yup, totally and completely possible. It works OK on SL burns but chokes on the DL burns is a prime indicator, especially since you're entrenched with using the Ritek media. 6- Utilize another software - I dont know about that Always an option, but we don't support other programs and you and only you can decide what to use on your machine.

. So...for $10.00 the Boss is supposed to do something he already said he doesn't want to do??? And, if he doesn't, you'll still be using the program without donating a couple bucks...now there is an incentive to do something if I ever saw one...

Yea...So do all the rest of the people here that you would have found by using the search function.....

The newer firmware may have the support that your media needs or it may be upgraded to solve other problems with your drive, therefore you should always use the latest and greatest firmware available. Also, when we recommend changes to your media, give it a try. We burn thousands of discs-compared to your 10-and form opinions based on hard data. We know that Taiyo-Yuden and Verbatim (Singapore) make the best single layer media out as of right now, and that Verbatim (Singapore) makes the best DL media available right now. We do not make suggestions just to give you an answer, we do it because we have to eliminate obvious problems in order to get positive results.

Look at your first posted picture, on the left side about the middle of the screen. Because Memorex does not produce the actual disc, they simply buy them from Ritek and they are rebadged by the manufacturer to say Memorex. Then your burner likes the media at that speed.

Xbox 360 Games are detected as "mixed media disk"
spinningwheel replied to vorbroker's topic in ImgBurn Support
ImgBurn verified that the disc is equal to the data that was to be burned onto it, so the end product is fine. It's probably the file you burned to the disc that should be where you start looking. -
Looking into my crystal ball for a moment....yup, time for a new burner.

Troubles with Maxell DVD+R when burning with Imageburn.
spinningwheel replied to xSimonx's topic in ImgBurn Support
Simple problem to solve...Your disc 's are crap....Go back to Verbs. Saving a couple $ on a pack of cheap discs isn't worth it when they fail and every failure drives up the cost of the cheap media. -
Why not talk to the person who flashed your xbox? The burn log that you submitted doesn't really show a problem that exists with the burn, and that's really all we can help you with here; this board is really not set up to solve xbox problems.
-
So then, you're re-ripping the same games as beffore and the new copies do not work?
-
Good post Beko, you didn't beat the thread to death with how you can't believe this or that, you followed your own common sense and figured it out.
-
ALSO...Nope...ImgBurn will not copy anything that is protected. If you bought it off of the web in order to copy protected data, complain and get your money back.

Glad you got it sorted out, but what did you do? Others might have similar problems and not get it figured out.
