  1. Here what I'm trying to do, I've the official Windows 8 iso, but want to add some updates and hotfix with it and give to my sister, since her laptop won't install windows unless it has the PID along, plus disc is more fool proof, so she won't end up modifying files by accident. Just making everything easier. Windows Media creator require an iso to burn, so I used Imgburn to turn that folder into an iso file, and burned it with Windows Media Tool, still didn't boot. Can't seem to find another way to create bootbale disc?
  2. You could try the Windows Media Creator Tool, if it supports Windows 8.1. It will download the necessary files and save them as an ISO, burn to them to a disc, or create a bootable flash drive. It's what I do whenever I want to create bootable Windows discs. Or, if I have one already, I just make an image file with ImgBurn of that existing disc. If I need to add any files or folders to it, I use UltraISO and inject files/folders into the image file.
  3. Hello, When I try to make image file from disc - ImgBurn freeze. I 01:28:29 ImgBurn Version 2.5.5.0 started! 4. Hi, This suggestion has two aspects: - add an option to create image files sparsely - add the ability to scan existing image files, marking the all-zero regions as holes Some discs contain a large amount of all-zero data. For example, many game DVDs contain hundreds of megabytes or gigabytes of all-zero data. When creating an ISO image from a DVD like that, writing all the all-zero data to disk wastes disk space and time (especially if writing to, say a slow USB hard drive). If ImgBurn had an option to write image files sparsely that would save disk space and improve working with the file later (it will read faster since the all-zero data does not need to be actually read from disk). In most respects sparse files work just like the corresponding non-sparse file; MD5 checksums match, and all programs should work with them fine. They just use less disk space. NTFS has supported sparse files since Windows 2000, and most Linux filesystems do too (so anyone using ImgBurn with Wine/Linux could benefit). It should be quite easy to implement: - Use FSCTL_SET_SPARSE on creating the image file - For each chunk of data to be written, if the data is all-zero, seek forward by that amount in the output file instead of writing the data. For info about sparse files in Windows see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa365566%28v=vs.85%29.aspx And for better/more detailed coverage see http://www.flexhex.com/docs/articles/sparse-files.phtml http://www.codeproject.com/KB/files/SparseFiles.aspx I mentioned that many game DVDs contain large amounts of all-zero data. If a user has already backed up many such discs, the image files will occupy many GB more than needed on the hard disk. In Windows, it's possible to create "holes" in an already-existing file using FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA. Using that, ImgBurn could optimise the disk space usage of existing image files: - Use FSCTL_SET_SPARSE to tell Windows that the file is sparse. - Repeat for the whole image file: Read chunk of data. If it's all-zero, use FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA to make a hole there. That would free up all the wasted disk space in the image files.
  5. Multitracks are not supported, as the error message says, by ImgBurn. Is this disc you're trying to copy, perhaps, a DVD made by a DVD video recorder like a Panasonic model? You will get issues trying to image those, too. The only solution for ImgBurn is to use Build mode to create a new disc. Drag and drop all the contents from the root directory of the disc you're trying to copy into Build mode. When you add the VIDEO_TS folder for a DVD Video, if that's the disc you're trying to copy, ImgBurn will ask you if you want to make all the appropriate settings changes for you.
  6. I need to create a BD image from Files on HDD. As far as I can tell there is no "guide" for this. The Guide for "BD from DISC" is over 2 years old. I was under the impression that IB had Blu-Ray support built in by now... If it is please illuminate those features for me as I can find NO direct support for Blu-Ray in the latest version 2.5.5.0... Please Advise. Thanks
  7. Is there a way for ImgBurn to batch-create image files? I have 3 optical-disc drives and want to load them up at once, line them up in ImgBurn, and click go once to have it create all 3 image files on my hard drive sequentially and automatically. Reason is I'm backing up several hundred audio CDs to individual hard-drive image files (cue/bin format). Doing the batch file-create process would cut down on the needed SW interface-tending by two-thirds. Cue/bin seems to be the best image format for audio CDs (as far as max data preservation; file size not an issue for me); if anyone has other advice regarding that, that's also welcome. Thanks!
  8. ch3vr0n from the VSO forums is also here, too. I always use ImgBurn to burn the VIDEO_TS output created by CXD. I like to be able to set my own layer break, if using a DVD+R DL where it's needed. Plus, I like to do things like add the containers in a DVD I create to the root directory of the disc I burn so they're "backed up" on the DVD I've created. Wherever possible, when prompted and allowed, I like to set my layer break on a .BUP file. It's essentially the same as setting the layer break on an .IFO file.
  9. Yes guilty as charged, I use this where possible on forums, hopefully not a bad thing.... the multi episode DVDs I create with CXtoDVD sometimes have one episode that refuses to play, found out this is the layer break.....using IMGBurn I choose a layer break that has the IFO file, no problems since Good to meet you..... they didn’t have a social distancing Moji
  10. PrimeraUser: I have a lot of experience with Primera duplicators. Your best bet is to use the PTPublisher or PTBurn. If you're looking to automate burning, PTBurn is the way to go. All you need to do is create a program to generate text files with all the information needed to create jobs. I'd suggest using something else to create ISO files and then pass those to PTBurn. If you want to do everything from the command line, get mkisofs under Cygwin or built for Windows to generate ISO files instead. I'm not sure if it supports HFS+, but it supports UDF, Joliet, and RockRidge.
  11. I'm trying to create an ISO image of my children's Zoo Tycoon CD-ROMs, so they can play without the physical media. I have two different DVD drives and one BluRay drive--all three give me the same errors using ImgBurn v2.5.5.0. I select "Create image file from disc" and change no other options. It successfully reads the first 800 sectors (1,638,400 bytes), with a good read rate, then the read rate drops to zero with multiple retries before finally displaying the following I/O Error: ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: BE 00 00 00 03 2C 00 00 01 10 00 00 Interpretation: Read CD - Sector: 812 Sense Area: 70 00 03 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 11 05 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: L-EC Uncorrectable Error Any ideas? I've made sure the LightScribe service (for my HP drive) is not running, and that AnyDVD HD is not running. This is on a Windows 7 64-bit system with 8 GB of RAM and an AMD Phenom II X4 940 processor at 3.00 GHz. I've tried manually selecting a lower read rate, and ensured the discs are clean. Both the Zoo Tycoon and the Zoo Tycoon Marine Edition discs do the same thing at the same sector. Could this be a copy protection issue?
  12. You can buy jewel cases separately. I store my discs in CD/DVD carrying "books." They store like 320 (I have some more, some less.) discs/CD booklets. I don't see where you're getting Verify against image from in Write files/folders to disc. I just went into that function and found the Verify checkbox but not one you describe. And, there shouldn't be such an option in that function as there's no image file being written to in Write files/folders to disc function. Oh, I see where you're at now. You're in the Verify function itself. I rarely use that manually as I have the automatic Verify turned on after each write. There is a Verify against image file. If you didn't create an image file, that option doesn't apply. You'll be asked to select an image file, which you won't have. You'll just be doing a Verify, which as I said, just makes sure the disc can be read. It performs a create image from disc function without actually creating the image file itself. I prefer the Build mode (Create image file from files/folders), where you create an image file first. That way, you can compare contents written to the disc against the contents in the image file. Write files/folders to disc will write the files/folders to disc without writing to an image file first. The Build mode will write the files/folders you tell it to to an image file first. It's not that TL has a likelihood of failing. It just has a higher likelihood of failing versus a SL one. For instance, you may not experience a problem writing a TL disc. But, for a variety of reasons, you might. And, for a variety of reasons, you might experience a problem writing to BD SL discs, too. Unfortunately, until you actually write a disc and experience an error, I can't tell you what you might be wrong until I see the error. However, you will have less likelihood of failure with SL discs; doesn't mean you won't though. Even though it increases the number of discs used, I use SL media. In fact, I've never written a BD-R DL disc before. Just BD-RE DL. And I've never written a TL or QL disc of any kind, even though I have burners that support them.
  13. Firstly I apologise in advanced if I have misunderstood anything you have said, I want to make sure I understand the process properly. At first I was going to perform this back up onto BDXL 100GB discs because I wanted as fewer discs as possible + they come in full size jewel cases which supposedly protects the discs? Do you store your 25GB discs on spindles? Are the examples below correct? Steps for ‘writing on the fly’: 1. Select ‘write files/folders’ to disc 2. Copy and paste the required amount of episodes to fill the capacity of the disc 3. Select ‘verify’ and deselect ‘verify from image’ 4. Click burn Results: SL - verification success likely. TL - verification success unlikely due to the layer break Steps for writing image to disc: 1. Create image from files or folders 2. Select write image to disc 3. Choose .ISO file 3a. (Select layer break if using TL disc) 4. Select ‘verify’ and make sure ‘verify from image’ is selected 5. Click burn Results: SL - verification success likely TL -verification success likely due to preselecting the layer break
  14. I have a home movie that I uploaded and saved as an .mpg file. I would like to put that on a regular DVD disc so that it can be played on an ordinary (NTSC) DVD player. I don't need to do any editing, and I don't want any titles or menus. Can I use ImgBurn to do this? If not, can you recommend freeware programs that can do this? Thanks for your help. ...
  15. Guys, wth… why when I try to get your tool am I presented with 100 scam download buttons all over your main page? Then every single download link is yet another page full of scams? Are you guys working together with them? Are they your scams or the advertisers scams? Is the money really worth selling out your users? This is 2020 can we get a MEGA download link instead of all this BS please? Why have 10 download mirrors that all contain misleading links and not one direct download? It amazes me that you guys are cool with this and in my eyes makes u responsible for whatever happens to someone when they go down those shady paths... But hey maybe you didn't realize your advertisers were doing this so maybe I should let u guys respond before I judge.. =/ **EDIT: I had to come back to let you know I am a seasoned tech and also post utilities anonymously for people to use freely, what they are doesn't matter. But because it has been so long since I have used your tool, and I forgot mirror #7 was actually direct, I spent 10 mins trying to dodge those BS ads and still hadn't downloaded the product.. I was like WTF this is crazy you 100% cant tell where the download link is on mirror #1.. then after being frustrated the more I looked around the more I noticed.. I'm not trying to trash you guys you made an awesome tool and it looks great. But this is ridiculous, its everything that's wrong with the internet and it shouldn't have a place here.. Like someone is literally making ads with your product name in them with a fake download button.. I mean there's a point where its just ridiculous that you allow it and basically you start to openly participate.. your better than this IMGBURN, I might know better but most people don't, you guys should really try to not create a place that puts people in jeopardy...
  16. Since updating to 2.5.4.0 Ive noticed a considerable drop in the read speed when I create an Image from disc. What used to take <30 mins now takes well over an hour. Is there anyway to force the read speed higher to cut the time? The discs were all orignally burnt via IMGburn and verified ok but as I say it used to take 30 mins on average on earlier versions but since update has gone to a crawl. Its about as quick as 1:1 real time copying. Sucks quite frankly. I know that making Images etc at 1x speed is supposed to be the best/most accurate way of doing this but Im not interested in that tbh. Worked fine at good speed before updating so why has it suddenly gone "back to analogue" on the speed front. Any advice welcome. Thanks.
  17. when trying to create image from xbox360 disks(tried three) the program starts ok, then stops at sector 110256 with message 'Illegal mode for this track' Read(10).
  18. Hello! I am helping my brother with a project to take individual recorded sessions from Hi-8 that was converted to DVD years ago(such as taking out old girlfriend vacation titles, with titles with current wife). The discs do not have any copy protection, and have Standard DVD structure. If we want to take separate "clips" that are separate "titles" on a DVD menu, which set of files will I need to make an ISO file playable on one of the new media players that output to HDMI? So far it has been hit and miss with some files generating a playable ISO file, and others not being recognized. Do I just need the related numerical BUP, IFO and VOB for each separate "title" on the DVD menu, or do I also need to include any of the Video_TS files as well. Thanks. So far I have been indescriminate as to the files included, such as Video_TS or not. Before I generate more non usable ISO files, I need to find out what I need to do, so we can finish this project. Thank you in advance. See attached pdf screenshot of editor window for a typical multi-title DVD. Great program by the way!!! Sample.pdf
  19. Hello all! I'm new to the forum so let me tell you what I'm doing and where I'm encountering an issue. I have ripped disc one of Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (my copy) to a .VOB, .IFO, and .SUB file using DVDFab. I placed all of the files in the VIDEO_TS folder just as the guide says. Files are here: C:\FELLOWSHIP_D1\VIDEO_TS\ I open the program, select build mode, then click the "Browse for a folder..." button and navigate to the above folder. This is where my screens differ from the guide. It appears as though the version ImgBurn I'm using is newer than the one in the guide. In the "Source" box, I now see: C:\FELLOWSHIP_D1\ This leads me to believe that all of the files in that folder (The VIDEO_TS folder and all containing files) will be the root directory on the disc. When I click the calculator, I get the following message: You have only selected one folder... Does the C:\FELLOWSHIP_D1\ folder content represent what should be the root directory content? I'm sure you know the rest of the message. I have an option to click Yes, or No. Selecting Yes, which seems to be the appropriate response, produces and image with only one folder and no files. Selecting No gives me another error which states that the file cannot be added to the image because it's larger than the file size allowed by the file system. (It's a 6gig file) So, either way, this is not working like the guide says it should which leads me to believe that the guide is outdated. Can anyone offer suggestions? Thanks, Garrett
  20. Hi, I think this is an issue with not having the right filters or something. I'm getting these error messages when I try to add a WAV file to the list of files to create a cue sheet from. I can play the WAV files fine in Media Player and VLC. Any suggestions what I can do? This was working fine a day or two ago but since then I got a virus and had to format and re-install Windows XP SP3. Please help, Imgburn is such a great program I really don't want to have to find an alternative. Many thanks, John.
  21. In v 2.5.2.0 when you created a CUE file, the browse for file remembered the last directory you picked when creating a 2nd CUE file. In version 2.5.3.0 it always defaults to the document library.
  22. Hy. i have an ISO UDF image file (created by ImgBurn from a TS file). ok. i would like to get a dvd (with dvd folder video_ts...). I opened ImgBurn> burn image to disk. and....I get the same TS file on my dvd+r dl!!! no. i would get a "normal" dvd+r dl for playback on a standalone bd player. can you help me? also file TS (from dvb-t) > iso 1:1 (without reencoding nor compressing it!) > "normal" dvd structure for standalone dvd player. is it possible? thanks a lot.
  23. Howdy folks! ImgBurn is hanging on me. (Windows XP, service pack 3) I get the "Program not responding" dialog when I try to close it. This happens when I try to load a CUE file that I created myself. It also happens when I try to have ImgBurn create a CUE file. The common denominator seems to be MP3 files. The CUE file that I created references MP3 files, and the program hangs when I try to add MP3 files to the new CUE sheet that ImaBurn is creating. Know that I bought the MP3 files from Amazon, if that has anything to do with it. I also got it hung up when I tried to right-click on a CUE file and open it with ImgBurn. It said it was initializing the command-line interface or something like that when it hung. Since that happened, I uninstalled 2.5.2.0 and installed 2.5.3.0. Quick! Call me a guru! ImgBurn.log
  24. Hey guys, I just used ImgBurn for the first time, and it created a 7.2gb ISO from a regular DVD. Why so big? How can I get it down to under 4.7gb? Thanks in advance.
  25. I followed the guide How to create a single layer DVD Video image file using ImgBurn but was unsuccessful. I was able to copy the contents of a DVD (not protected) to the hard drive. My purpose was to create an image minus some of the content. I wanted to get the content down to under 4.7 GB so that I could burn to DVD rather then using a dual layer DVD. I dumped several of the Video VTS files but when following the directions ImgBurn seemed to balk and would not bild. One of several errors along the way was that ImgBurn could not find one of the VTS files that I removed : ) I am guessing I need to edit something such as an IFO file but I was unable to determine which one and I could not open them in WordPad and Notepad just looked like gibberish to me. Is there a guide available that will show step by step how to remove files from the Video folder and then burn an iso file from that? I have attached the error log. TIA.
