  1. I am aware that DVD Decrypter is dead what i was saying is that in DVD Decrypter you could create a iso so there for LUK clearly knows how to implement such a feature.
  2. Hello, first, congratulations for this program. It's the best. Second, sorry for my english, is very bad. Third, i'm a user of Scenarist and more projects are DL and I can`t create a DVDR DL with Scenarist. My suggestion is that when choosing the .DVD image, Imgburn automatic search the layer break in .DVD and set in Tools/Write/User Specified or a cheking box for authoring DVD users that it creates a file that contains the information of the DVD and the jump of layer, and choosing this file, automatically the program records the image with the layer jump that the user has created in the authoring software. Sorry for my english and congratulations for this program. Greetings
  3. I'm looking for enlightenment. I'm new (though not young) so please, be gentle Just wondering, is there any advantage to using IMGburn for creating audio CD backups? I've searched for methods to create image files for burning audio to CD but haven't been able to find anything that's of help. I did see reference to the cdr file extension in one FAQ (which is one of the extensions recognized by IMGburn), but it didn't tell me how to create one. Any advice?
  4. an img file is like an iso file... and hopefully you know the concept of an ISO?! It's a complete image of the disc. For an ISO, it's just like you read sector 1, and write it to a file. Then you read sector 2 and append it to that same ISO file. The 'file' content of the disc is of NO importance. You're talking about turning files into iso/img files and then durning burning to a cd/dvd turning them back to file...that's not how it works at all, it just looks that way. Burning a collection of files means you have to create the filesystem (i.e. FAT/FAT32/NTFS/ISO/Joliet/UDF etc) on the fly and add the files in the correct places. Seeing as you even asked this question, perhaps that is a little over your head - much in the same way that ACTUAL filesystem creation (in programming terms) is a little over mine! - well, it's non trivial at least
  5. Short history lesson: Up until about 18 months or 2 years ago, DVD Shrink (a great piece of software btw), was unable to create ISO (disk) images that could be burned using Nero or DVD Decrypter or whatever. A fella by the name of CouJo had created a program that converts DVD files (.VOBS, .IFOS etc) into a format that burning programs could recognise. He called it ImgTool. What it does is it grabs the contents of a VIDEO_TS folder and converts the files to an ISO image. He made two (I think) versions. One is called ImgTool Burn and the other is called ImgTool Classic. ImgTool Burn uses Nero to burn disks and as most of us around here dislike Nero, we don't use it. ImgTool Classic used to use DVD Decrypter to burn disks. It has since been updated to use Lightning_UKs program, ImgBurn, instead. So..... basically..... Once you have your video files on your HD, create a VIDEO_TS folder somewhere and move your VOBs and IFO files into it. (If you haven't got a decent file manager like Turbo Navigator, GET ONE. It makes life soooo much easier). Once you've done that, all you have to do now is tell ImgTool where ImgBurn is located on your computer and then point ImgTool Classic at the VIDEO_TS folder and tell it to start work. Clear as mud, huh?
  6. I want to copy unprotected DVD's I have created. I deally I want to create an image of the disc to my hard drive, and then burn multiple copies of the image (sometimes using multiple burners simultaneously). From my limited experience of ImgBurn, you already need the image file before you can use ImgBurn to burn. With Nero I can easily do this, but I have heard great things about ImgBurn and wanted to give it a go, so how do you achieve this with ImgBurn ? I apologise if I'm missing something obvious, and thanks in advance!
  7. Defenestration, you can't make an image file with IMGburn, as its name states it strickly burns images to disc. Use any quality program to create your image and then use IMGburn to burn it to a disc. With its' qeueing feature this should be ideal for your purpose. It burns a high quality image.
  8. Well I used ImgTool Classic to create the image. It showed me that I did not have the image files in a VIDEO_TS folder So I put the files in a folder called VIDEO_TS so I had 2 folders in the source directory, video and audio _ts. I created the image and burned it with imgburn but I still get the cannot play error. The log file is below.
  9. Open FabGold, Select Full Disc, then select Disc Folder, point to where your folder is and select it, choose whether to preserve menus or not on disc 2(for DVD9 only), as well as whether to jump strait to the movie, decide where to split at, then click Next, then click on DVD Image, it will create 1 or 2 iso's depending on whether it's a DVD9, it also creates video folders for each first, so you need a fair amount of HDD space first. Like Polpony says, DVDShrink works excellent for creating ISO's also.
  10. I dont use DVDFAb at all so I have nothing to offer on that but you do have Shrink and that will create an ISO file you can burn with IMGburn .When you analyze the dvd with Shrink and you are ready to "BACKUP" then select " create ISO file " in Select Backup Target,it will make an ISO put it on the hard drive and then you can burn it with IMGburn . Burn the MDS file it has all the info for making the layer break right Thanks Polopony. I just tried your method and it worked!

  12. no you dont remove it you burn the MDS file and that gets the layer break right. If one doesn't exist then click on tools and choose "create dvd mds file " from the options
  13. I do have dvdFab Gold 2.9 but how can I use it to create ISOs once I have ripped the DVDs to the hard drive in non-ISO mode?
  14. I don't know if you have DVDFabGold, but it will create ISO's that you can then use IB to burn. As far as DL's go, stick to what you say you've most recently tried.
  15. I also use Ridata and they're awesome, not 1 bad one yet. But my question is this: How, from scratch, do I create an ISO image?? I cannot figure it out and it's p!ss!ng me off solid. Can I please have some assistance starting at step 1? Please and thanks in advance, Matryx.
  16. Horribly old. One of them is 5 years old and the other is 4 years old. Fragmentation should not be a problem though, because I just installed the OS on that system from scratch in Aug. So that should account for the HD with my OS on it. The other HD is virtually empty. It's split into two partitions, both of which are 90% empty. It's main purpose is to hold disc images and process large video files. I did install win2k on one of the two partitions to see if my OS was causing the problem, but that is about it. Anyway, fragmentation should not be the cause of the problem. I wrote ISO files to both hard drives to see if the hard drive was causing my problems. Same result. Also, what I have been doing is to create an ISO image by reading a disc using DVDdec. Once saved, I used the same image to burn in both ImgBurn and Nero. If it was something to do with the image, harddrive or fragmentation, the burns with Nero should have failed verification.
  17. DVD Shrink among others will make an ISO for you in addition to compressing and encoding a file if you choose to put it on a DVD5 blank. If you're doing Dual Layer stuff then Verbatim DL's are the best choice .There is the ability to change + format media to have the player see it as a DVD rom disc for more compatibility with players . The fact that you cant play it on your player if I read right comes down to the compatibility of player and the media you use I use a Sony 725 dvd player thats plays verbs ,ritek ,Yudens ,princo and an assortment or other brands of media with no problems It might help if you post what media you use and brand player I believe Panasonic can be pretty picky with what it'll play The more info provided the better chance of a solution .Its all about finding the right combination media, burner, player and making sure you're using the latest firmware for your burner then sticking with it If you click on Tools in IMGburn one of the options is "Create DVD MDS File "
  18. Use PgcEdit to create the image and burn. ImgTool Classic is great, but it won't work properly for double layer images.
  19. 2 options: 1. Point DVD Shrink at the VIDEO_TS folder and have it create an ISO for you. 2. Download ImgTool "Classic" (not ImgTool Burn) and point it at the folder containing your VIDEO_TS folder. It will create an ISO for you and then pass the "burn" command to ImgBurn automatically. Download ImgTool at http://www.coujo.de
  20. Do? They don't have to "do" anything with it. No doubt their experts have trawled through the code to DVDD in an attempt to create something that it won't circumvent. As for never being buried, I said the same thing about the Amiga before it keeled over and dissapeared into history. DVD Decrypter will remain on the peer-to-peer networks for as long as it is useful to somebody. Sooner or later it, like many other great programs over the years, will also fade into obscurity. <Philosophical mode off>

Yes, the designers deny it's there. One of the things that has gradually made me drift away from it. Plenty of examples from others on how to re-create the situation and Opera just says to adjust the # of connections. Unfortunately, the deny it's there outright answer is indicative of software that will, eventually, just rot away. I wasn't aware there was a 9.0. I could try it. But, I highly doubt it will help. I never thought that a new tab might be a new instance. It never seemed to be. e.g. Internet Explorer runs higher crash risks once you open beyond 9 instances. But, Opera, etc. never had that problem. And, as far as what I will call memory leak for sake of ease, neither Firefox nor Netscape versions that had tabbed browsing suffered from the same problem. The new instances thing would be easily solved with MY idea. DON'T load ALL the pages on start. Just the one in the current focus. Instead paste the URL's into the destination field and wait for actual loading until they become the focus or manually loaded by the user. I set my cache to 40 MB because it seemed to operate better there under my setup than at 60.
  22. Hello all, I tried for about 3 hours this morning trying to figure out how to burn a single layer shrunk dvd from the many processes and suggestions described in the forum section. Let me explain what I have tried............ I ripped original files from a disc w/decrypt as normal (not ISO), then I used pgcedit to create ISO files....no problem here...... I see I cannot directly burn my ISO files to a single layer disc from this program so as far as I am aware, I now need to shrink them to get them on a single layer disc, right? So I tried numerous times to load the ISO files I created with pgcedit, but shrink does not see them! The files ARE THERE because when I open the folder they are in, I can see them (about 6.XGB). Shrink just refuses to acknowlege the files! Please tell me what I am doing wrong, HELP!
  23. Hello Fellows, Thanks for the replies on my post! That particular disc was a Sony disc movie I had purchased that had the new ARccOS protection. I had to use PGCEdit to get rid of the corrupted cells put in with ARccOS. I got pgcedit to create the "XXX.ISO" file with no trouble. It was just that Shrink would not "see" that XXX.ISO file when I went to open the files. I tried Shrink in ISO mode with another movie then burned with IMGBurn with NO problem. Funny, but IMGBurn would find the ISO file created with pgcedit but the Shrink program would not, I just don't know why. I just needed to reduce the size of the PGCEdit created ISO file so I could burn it to a single layer disc. Maybe Shrink will have an update later to correct this problem. Once again, thanks for the replies.
  24. I agree with polo - unless you need to use pgcedit I would rip with the aforementioned program in file mode, then open the folder containing the files with DVD Shrink and let it create the ISO for you. Then burn the ISO with ImgBurn.....
  25. I dont use PCGedit so all I can suggest is create the ISO with Shrink and burn it with IMGburn .Bring up IMGburn then browse for the ISO and burn
