blutach Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Not sure where to put this Often opening pages is very very slow - no images on them or anything. I guess it's just teething problems. Fast reply tends to finsh and display quicker but edit and the main forums screen seem to take a while. Hope this can be fixed. Using IE6 here. Regards
Cynthia Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 I do have the same problem - IE6 is slow. Firefox is fast.
blutach Posted September 11, 2005 Author Posted September 11, 2005 (edited) Also, at least for me, the display of smileys takes a long time. Maybe this is related to the problem. Regards Edited September 11, 2005 by blutach
lfcrule1972 Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 blu PM'd me about this and I said I wasn't having any probs but then I use Firefox rather than crappy IE6...... Tell you what blu - you could sell your Porsche and pay for the bosses hosting for a while
blutach Posted September 11, 2005 Author Posted September 11, 2005 You're in pommie land which might make it quicker. But clinks is very fast. So dunno what's going on. Just thought I'd post the rant. Already sold Porsche to pay God to keep it sunny for next 2 days. Sorry. Regards
cornholio7 Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 its slow here too. but i believe its running off another server than it used to. a little donation from everybody might help to get it hosted on the old server? best wait to hear what Lightning thinks
Cynthia Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 I remember it was slow before there was some 'upgrade' - after that it was very fast in IE6.
dontasciime Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 (edited) yet mine is ok fast enough, will keep an eye on it, then say for sure though clicking on edit was a bit slower, though i am downloading something at same time using practically all bandwidth using IE6 Edited September 11, 2005 by dontasciime

Guest maritimer Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Mine is very slow. Using IE6 also
lfcrule1972 Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 I am d/l and its ok on Firefox - no difference to clinks anyway !
Grain Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Nice and fast w/ Mozilla here in the Great White North.
lfcrule1972 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Ok its 8:23 here at work and I am on IE6 - no worries with page speed here either - will see what its like at lunch when the US start to come on line......
blutach Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 It's bloody slow at home on 2 PCs and at work. Regards
lfcrule1972 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Ok - 13:07 here and its working just fine - weird huh ?
blutach Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 (edited) Don't really understand why clinks is quick & this is slow. Like they are both UK hosted with about the same traffic. But who knows what different routes they are taking? Maybe I'll do a tracert and see. Regards Edited September 12, 2005 by blutach
cornholio7 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 clinks is hosted in dallas and imgburn in the uk
blutach Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 Yeah - my tracert to imgburn timed out all the way. Regards

Regards <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You hit the nail right on the head Blu Its all in the routing table and somewhere a router probably got it in its head to reroute imgburn through 20 different hops it didn't need. I've have some problems here in the states as well, at one time I could not get to clinks, here, nor several other forums but could pull up my mome page and other sites so, its a guessing game.
clink Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Clinks is hosted in Dallas. US. This place is slow for me too. According to the trace it is hosted in Birmingham. Daniel???
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 lol this place isn't hosted anywhere at the moment guys, that's why it's slow! I'll probably drop the nethosted guys an email later and see if they'll have me back!
