  1. You are just trying to burn a VIDEO_TS folder yeah and not an ISO? If your folders/projects don't totally fill up the disc, it'll be a lot easier to move stuff around and then you won't see the 'end of the world' message. The message comes from there not being enough decent places to split the data (whilst keeping to the DVD Video specs). If there were more cells or chapter points in the video, it wouldn't be a problem... so really it comes down to the programs creating the IFO/VOB/BUP files. If you don't cut or copy anything else having done 'Cut' in the log window, the info will still be in the clipboard, just paste it.
  2. Post a log please - as per the pink box up the top
  3. Because you clicked 'Create image file from files/folders'. The clue is in the name (and the image shown for that button). If you want to write to a disc (on the fly), use the 'Write files/folders to disc' option instead - or just change the 'Output' (menu at the top) to 'Device' rather than 'Image File'.
  4. Sorry, I've no idea what that could be.
  5. If your drive won't burn 'VERBAT-IMd-000' at any of the speeds it claims to support, try some different discs. As the 'Perform OPC Before Write' option being enabled clearly isn't doing anything to help, turn it off again (the default setting).
  6. Turn off the 'Prefer Accurate Track Duration' option for a second (turn it back on later), then add the file, then check the filter list again.
  7. Erm maybe... what motherboard do you have? Are you able to try the drive in another port? Have you tried a new cable?
  8. Turn off 'Perform OPC Before Write' and clear opc history in the advanced settings feature/eeprom tool. Look on the packaging your discs came in and see what it says for where they were made. Ones from Singapore seem to be the best. It probably wouldn't hurt to buy another spindle from a different supplier and try one from that. btw, service pack 1 is out for windows 7 - and has been for ages now.
  9. Can you run something like HD Tune on your F:\ drive and see what speeds you get? 8x isn't exactly fast and something is preventing your system/hdd from even coping with that. Then it's taking 6 or 7 seconds to refill a 40 MB buffer... that's pretty poor - no wonder you're having problems. Do you defrag the drive?
  10. Try 8x. If that doesn't work, try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc and/or try another spindle of discs. If you want to stick with DVD-R, see about getting some Taiyo Yuden (Victor JVC) ones instead.
  11. Nope http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=14632 (That's linked in the pink box up the top too )
  12. Please post a log - as per the pink box up the top
  13. Something must be going on with your system/hdd or there wouldn't be a problem What do you have running in the background (or in general) when you're burning? Check nothing like defrag or indexing is kicking in. You should post a log so we can see the problem - as per the pink box up the top.
  14. You've messed around too much with the eeprom settings. Put it to... and then burn at 4x.
  15. Have you tried it on a clean xp 32bit installation at all? I've been meaning to but haven't got round to it yet.
  16. You'd need the flashing tool to support reading the SPI ROM instead of just writing/erasing it.
  17. My card came with the AHCI 0.89 firmware on it - that worked fine. I then flashed to AHCI 0.95 - that still worked fine. I won't bother with the IDE ones now I've seen AHCI works fine (and that's probably better). Driver wise, I didn't *need* to install anything in Windows 7, it just picked it up as a standard AHCI controller. I still went ahead and installed the proper ASMedia drivers though. Do you have any weird entries listed in your filter driver list on the XP machine that it didn't work with? Use the feature in the Tools menu to take a look and copy+paste the info. It doesn't really make sense that the same card/firmware/driver/OS would produce different results on different motherboards. It might also be worth checking what it does when you boot into safe mode.
  18. A new ImgBurn isn't going to fix the problem... it's nothing to do with the software, it's a problem between your drive and the media. So like I said, read that thread I linked you to and try some of the things it mentions.
  19. and there's only 1 SATA controller on your board? (so probably 4 sata ports?) I'd certainly go for the SP1 update now and probably any VIA driver updates you can find too. With any luck, that'll fix the problem. If it still keeps messing up, consider investing in a SATA PCI controller card (Silicon Image chipset). Plug that in and connect the drive to that instead.
  20. You're already using Verbatim discs but there's a list of generic things to try in here... http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 btw, there's a newer ImgBurn available and service pack 1 for Windows 7 has been out for ages.
  21. That depends... is the drive plugged into some sort of addon controller card (in a PCI slot or whatever) or do you actually have a Via chipset (and SATA controller) on your motherboard? If you've plugged it into an addon controller card, just unplug it from there and plug it into one of the SATA ports on the motherboard.
  22. Get it off the Via controller if at all possible. You should install SP1 for Windows 7 btw, it's been out for ages.
  23. Beyond writing an ISO image to it, I'm not sure how else you'd use ImgBurn with a USB key - unless it emulated an optical drive?! Are you positive you have the right program?
  24. What makes you think an SD card should show up in ImgBurn anyway? ImgBurn is for burning discs in optical drives.
  25. A quick 'bump' as another year has passed! Happy Birthday!
