Glad you got it sorted

I'm not quite sure why you posted this in the 'Suggestions' forum but I've now moved it to the 'Support' one. Now on to your issue... Read this - http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=12200

You didn't actually do anything though did you?! Changing the I/O interface back to what it's meant to be on (SPTI) is just good practice. I know there are guides that claim putting it on the VSO one will magically fix all your I/O errors but they're *totally* wrong. Installing SP1 wasn't going to change how well your drive can burn 'MBIPG101-R10-65' disc, it was just something you should have done a long time ago anyway. I'll refer you to this thread once again - http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000

Ok, no doubt it's the Sonic stuff that's messing up. You could remove those filters or change their 'merit' to a lower value so they aren't pulled into the graph so readily. There are tools available for that job if you Google it - i.e. InstalledCodec and DirectShow Filters Manager
-
This is your machine freezing, not ImgBurn. ImgBurn is just waiting for the machine/drive to process the I/O command.
-
Read this - http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 and put the I/O Interface back on SPTI. You also need to install service pack 1 for Windows 7.

Erm not really, no. I just have a couple of 'wet' ones where you apply some solution to the brushes and set it going (either by selecting a certain track on the disc or by clicking a button in the program that autoruns). Being a laptop drive, you could probably clean it manually if you're* really careful*. Use the same solution on the end of a cotton bud and wipe it around/over the lens. I'm sure there will be a guide for doing just that if you Google it. Yes. Well, it's some problem between your drive, its firmware and the media you're using. They're the only things that come into it - 'it' being getting a successful burn. You change one or more of them until you find a combination that works. The brand name stamped on discs doesn't really mean very much. Different brands could be using the exact same discs. Yours are actually made by CMC. Taiyo Yuden (Victor JVC) make the best discs I've used. Sometimes Verbatim will put their name to Taiyo Yuden discs if you can't find any sold under the Taiyo Yuden (Victor JVC) name itself. Some proper optical media online stores will tell you the MID/dye used on the discs in addition to the name branded on them. -

Your drive is having problems burning to the media you're using. It's reporting a 'Write Error' as it attempts to burn it. Although the 2nd attempt looks (semi) successful, my guess is that the disc is still showing up as blank/empty. You could try burning at 4x or 6x. You've already tried the only other supported speed of 10x (by selecting 'MAX' in the program) As the drive is probably 8 or so years old now, it might be worth giving it a clean with a cleaning disc. After that I'd say to try some better media - Taiyo Yuden. -
Don't think of it as overburning with an ihas, it's a simple case of having 97% of the data available or 100%. It's pretty obvious which is better Read any xbox related forum that deals with this stuff and they'll flat out tell you not to truncate now that other options are available. I have no interest in it myself but I still need to keep on top of things so I can at least pretend I know what I'm talking about

and yet you still don't seem to have posted a log. The one thing it tells you to do in big, bold text. It quite clearly says you'll get a chair bashed on your head if you don't do it.... so that's what I did.

If you're seeing weird things from SPTD 1.81, report it to duplex secure, it's nothing to do with me. I believe 1.81 was an attempt at getting it working in Window 8... perhaps it wasn't quite ready from primetime.

That's kinda what I was going to check.... it all comes down to the DirectShow filters being used on your machine. Once you've added the file into the Create CUE File window, right click on it in the list and select 'Display DirectShow Filter List'. You should be able to press CTRL+C (copy) on the box that pops up and then CTRL+V (paste) that info into a reply here on the forum. i.e. --------------------------- ImgBurn --------------------------- File Name: c:\blahblah.mp3 DirectShow Filter List: 1. -> Source (Vendor Info: Unknown) 2. -> MPEG-I Stream Splitter (Vendor Info: Unknown) 3. -> MP3 Decoder DMO (Vendor Info: Unknown) 4. -> Sample Grabber (Vendor Info: Unknown) 5. -> Null Renderer (Vendor Info: Unknown) --------------------------- OK ---------------------------

You don't appear to have read the pink box up the top
-
If you refer back to post #9 you should get the hint that isn't the case at all! What you're doing is the worst possible thing you can do.
-
The SPTD driver shouldn't be making up erroneous drive errors. I understand that I/O passes through it (so it *could* change the results I guess) but I've never seen it mess up burning like that - it used to just slow things down a bit on certain systems.
-
I can only assume there's something 'off' with that MP3. I will try it here if you email it to me (address is in the 'About' box under the 'Help' menu).

DVD-5 VIDEO_TS in a DVD-9 image = no layer break?
LIGHTNING UK! replied to dbminter's topic in ImgBurn Support
Just know that if your VIDEO_TS exceeds the size of an individual layer, the program will prompt for a layer break. You may still be able to burn it to a DVD-5 though. -
If you'd just dragged that VIDEO_TS folder into the 'Source' box within ImgBurn (like what all the guides say to do) it would have built you a proper DVD Video disc.... so obviously you did something different. You can only have 1 VIDEO_TS folder on a disc and it needs to be in the root folder (what's the 'Videos library' bit I see there?).

DVD-5 VIDEO_TS in a DVD-9 image = no layer break?
LIGHTNING UK! replied to dbminter's topic in ImgBurn Support
Yes, that's correct - in theory anyway! Of course the individual layers on DVD-9 discs aren't quite the the size of an actual DVD-5.
