  1. How many times have you tried it? Give it another go. Cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc may help. Failing that, get some different discs or buy another drive and hope it supports the 'INFODISC-A10-01' ones you have now.
  2. Use a double layer disc.
  3. That's correct. I'm sure you'll find some links to something that'll work with the key your laptop came with if you just search Google. It's just a matter of getting the right edition (Home Premium or whatever) and version (OEM I'd guess - rather than 'retail')
  4. Are you in Write mode instead of Build mode? Write mode is for burning disc image files and so only disc image files will show up in the browse box. What's the problem with the search function(s) ? Its usefulness probably depends on how well you can search.
  5. Any sort of error during the burn usually isn't a great sign. Update the firmware on your drive. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/iHBS112%2B2/files.html 2x isn't a supported write speed and 4x might not be the optimal speed for 'RITEK-BR3-000' media. Do some Disc Quality/PIPO scans (using Opti Drive Control / DVDInfoPro) on the next few discs you burn and see what they come out like.
  6. The folders come off the original install DVD or from whatever you've downloaded from Microsoft's site (sometimes they supply a zip file). The guide isn't for attempting to build an install disc based on an existing installation of Vista on your computer.
  7. Try at all of the supported write speeds. If none of them work, invest in better discs. The drive must have a problem with the 'UME02' ones you're currently trying to use.
  8. If the log says 2.5.6.0, that's the version you're running Download the updated version - not that it'll actually help you with your conversion to DVD Video format.
  9. Sometimes discs come pre-formatted (probably with spare areas enabled) and so the program doesn't need to perform the initial format itself before the discs can be written to - but you'll be stuck burning at approx half the rated speed. If they aren't pre-formatted, ImgBurn will format (by default, with spare areas disabled) and then you'll be burning at the rated speed.
  10. It's not possible with ImgBurn, no. Use DVD Flick, ConvertXtoDVD etc.
  11. Click the Erase button in the Destination box when you're in Write/Build (Device)/Discovery mode. Or right click the drive selection box -> Erase -> Full or Tools -> Drive -> Erase -> Full
  12. I already did the other day, still nothing.
  13. It wouldn't matter what you set the write speed to, the drive/firmware/media combo you have only supports 2.4x so it would always burn at that speed. I hope the new burner works out ok for you
  14. Not sure where you read that but it's wrong. You have to format a disc without spare areas in order for it to burn at full speed - otherwise 'defect management' is active on the drive and it verifies every 'write' option on-the-fly during the burn - which is what makes it go so slowly. If you initiate a full erase within ImgBurn, the default formatting settings should take care of the rest.
  15. Are you actually using a Primera autoloader/publisher or just the firmware from their website in a normal drive? The program always unloads from autoloader devices - regardless of program settings. I don't know what these 'extended tray eject capabilities' could/would be for normal (non autoloader) drives.
  16. You can find info about filters in the Audio CD guide. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=5555&&do=findComment&comment=91374
  17. I don't know why, no. All I know is that your drive failed and reported a 'Write Error'.
  18. I keep seeing info about the mounted ISO being played in WinDVD and the burnt disc being played in the player, but that's not what I asked about. I want to know if the disc you burnt plays ok in your computer via WinDVD. I'm not talking about the mounted ISO, I'm talking about the actual disc you burnt earlier.
  19. How many discs have failed like that? It looks like your drive did a bad job of burning that one and now it can't read back what it just wrote - never a good sign! Try turning OPC back off and perhaps get hold of some 8x Verbatim discs instead of the 2.4x ones (MKM-003-00 Vs MKM-001-00)
  20. Well, in theory, all the data should be on the disc (as Verify passed) but you may find the disc as a whole is totally unrecognisable/unreadable in certain devices. That's what normally happens when a disc can't be closed.
  21. Your drive reported a 'Write Error' whilst trying to burn the disc. Just try again with a new disc.
  22. It was never supposed to be in there for Build mode and it caused a crash. Trucating a project you've built yourself is a bit weird... just make it smaller in the first place!
  23. The discs should be fine, I'd probably blame the drive if anything. I'm not a fan of slimline drives, especially Matshita ones. It would be interesting to check out the burn quality of that drive/media combo but you'd need access to a LiteOn Blu-ray drive (or clone of such a drive).
