DVD+RW discs are rewritable but that MKM-003-00 disc isn't one of them! (It's a DVD+R DL disc)

Ok well that's not a rewritable disc so it's bound to fail!

If the drive is doing the same thing on different discs (different dye/mid, not just brand name), yes it's at fault.

Post ALL the info from the log window please, not just a bit of it. If your drive doesn't want to erase the disc then there isn't much you can do about it (assuming the firmware is up to date etc).

Technically, this is a bug in the firmware of your drive. It should be returning 'Invalid Field in Parameter List' there and not 'Invalid Field in CDB'. Either way, you can just ignore the error. You're getting it because the layer break position you're trying to use is beyond the maximum one possible.

Where did you check for firmware updates in the first place?! Right click the drive drop down selection box and you'll see an option to check for firmware updates on there. (which will take you to where mmalves has already pointed you)
