Chck BD file structure before burning
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Manni01's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
Email sent. Whether or not Google lets it through is another matter! -
Sorry, maybe I was a bit mean. I apologise. The fact still stands that there's loads of info available on the web if you search for it. (and people that don't search just wind me up) The info you're asking for doesn't belong on this forum - but at the same time I hate having to repeat myself - which is why the xbox related pinned topic exists (although it doesn't cover your issue). Your friend is wrong (about the going into the settings bit anyway). Like I said, the default settings work fine. In a very generic sense, if your image is too big for a disc then you have 2 options (previous versions only allowed for 1)... Overburn (which will always error out and fail on DVD+R DL media) Truncate (where the last bit of image (that over-spills the disc) will just be ignored) When the program detects you're burning an image that won't fit, it'll prompt you asking what it should do. Whichever option you select, the same amount of data will end up on the disc. But like I said, Overburn will error out and Truncate won't. I know which one I'd pick if I were you!

If it's asking what type of disc it is that you're trying to erase, the drive probably hasn't initialised it properly/at all. So basically, it was completely broken in the first place - and it had nothing to do with you clicking the OK button on the tray cycling dialog.
-
If you search, I'm sure you'll find detailed instructions all over the internet. I assume you have actually heard of 'Google' ? ImgBurn's default settings work fine.

What's your definition of 'messing up' and why do you think they are? No, don't make a new post in bugs. If / when I decide there's an actual problem, I'll already know about it. Creating a 0KB CUE file obviously isn't right but the others could be fine. You'd have to upload them so I can take a look. The log window may or may not mention errors that occurred during the audio analysis phase so keep an eye on that too.

I believe you're only the second person on these forums to ever run into that 'Synchronous Data Transfer Error' error! It looks like some sort of comms issue to me so I'd be inclined to think it's related to the enclosure you've put the drive in and/or how it connects to the PC. On the other hand, the drive may have developed a fault.

Build mode. Advanced Input mode Add the files / folders to the compilation ...and that's pretty much it. You'd be better off taking a complete image of your hard drive though and storing it on a 2nd hdd. And for that you'd use something like Acronis True Image.

FileSize Gets too Large too Burn to Disc - Please Help!
LIGHTNING UK! replied to nrj's topic in ImgBurn Support
The error in your second log is caused by using a drive that's too old to support the discs you're trying to use. The layer break selection screen shows you had loads of options to choose from. It scrolls down below what's visible in your screenshot (which you resized too much btw - oh and don't use BMP, use JPEG or better still.. PNG). As you go lower in the list, less padding is needed to get the selection in the right place on the disc. -

You must be messing something up during the actual burning bit then because based on what you've provided in the log, it fits just fine. Post a log of you burning that ISO so I can see what you're doing. How many options are you given in the layer break selection window? See if you can get us a screenshot of it. There is no issue with the padding, it's just doing what needs to be done in order to use your selection as the layer break cell. -
You aren't doing anything wrong, no... your drive is though. If it won't burn to the discs you've got, try getting some different discs. Maybe it just doesn't like the 'PHILIP-R04-000' MID/dye very much.

Best quality image file format for DVD backups
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Physical's topic in ImgBurn General
An image of a DVD is an image of a DVD. Giving the file a different extension doesn't change anything. Whatever ImgBurn's Read mode outputs by default (so no messing on your part) is perfectly fine. -
Yes, I put a 7260 in the Bravo II machine. Mine wasn't even DVD capable when I got it cheap off ebay - it just had an old LG CDRW in it. I just used a generic ide -> sata adapter (jmicron chipset if I remember correctly). It probably cost me £10 off ebay. Due to the way they connect together, you do need to make sure you get one that fits in the available space and has the connectors in the right places! The other option was to use a totally new USB -> SATA adapter... I did buy one (Addonics) but never fitted it. I've no idea what Primera would charge for their upgrade kit but I bet it's not cheap! The 7260 is actually an old model now and has been replaced by the 7280.

You aren't helping yourself by using such an old version... nor will you get any help from us while you are. Service Pack 1 is out for Windows 7 btw - it has been for ages now actually. You're actually using DVD-R DL there, not DVD+R DL. You got the wrong discs.

Problem burning to Verbatim DL - disc
LIGHTNING UK! replied to viktorjonasson's topic in ImgBurn Support
If it won't burn at any speed, either you've got a faulty spindle of discs or the drive is faulty. (slim line ones are rubbish anyway) -
Post the log please - as per the pink box up the top

Cant burn Iso to DL VERBATIM DISC?

Chances are, those errors don't come from ImgBurn at all. If errors like that really existed in the program, the forum would be flooded with similar reports Typically errors like that when a program starts will totally prevent it from loading - obviously that isn't the case here. So I'm thinking it's actually some sort of scanning software that's kicking in when you run ImgBurn and it is what's got the problem, not ImgBurn itself. Try booting into SafeMode and then run ImgBurn to see if that works without an error. You also need to install Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 by the looks of it.

I'll email you the version I'm working on. It should do the trick. -
Chck BD file structure before burning
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Manni01's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
The reading of the name from the XML is linked to the DVD Video option called 'Volume Label - Read DVD Text Data'. So if that gets disabled, it won't read from the XML. The trouble is, the code as it is in 2.5.6.0 won't fallback to the older method (I don't think) because an internal variable had been modified. Your initial suggestion is in no way linked to this new issue you're having. -
I'm inclined to just say your Plextor drive has died. My 716 went the exact same way. Get a nice new drive for the machine and you'll be good to go. I put an Optiarc 7260 in mine

I'm not seeing a problem here. Your image will fit on a DVD+R DL disc just fine. -
Remove ImgBurn from right-click context menu on dvds
LIGHTNING UK! replied to panacea's topic in ImgBurn Support
Everything it puts in should also get removed when it's uninstalled. Try installing and uninstalling again. If that doesn't work then I'll talk you through the registry stuff. -
That log doesn't show anything useful. Could you find another one where you've actually tried to burn+verify something?
-
That bar doesn't show progress, it shows how much of the (specified) disc has been used up by the project.
-
You'd have to try it in another drive. That one doesn't seem to like the disc(s) very much.
