Ths isn't something I'll implement, sorry. Either you're anal about errors or you're not. Either is passes verification or it fails and 1 error = failure. If you don't care about it failing, why bother in the first place? Just chuck it in your player and see if it works that way. Use a decent drive and media and then you wouldn't have to worry.

To be fair, I only added those files to FirmwareHQ after reading this thread

Writing to Verbatim DL: Cyclic Redundancy Check
LIGHTNING UK! replied to kennykramer's topic in ImgBurn Support
You should run chkdsk on drive M: with a complete disc sector scan via the '/F' switch. -
This is another 'change build mode' suggestion and that's already work in progress, don't worry.
-
I don't think those tool just pop up saying they've found something nasty, you need to already know what you're looking for.
-
It said close the drive tray, not the disc.
-
You might find it's crashing *because* of the virus / malware. You might like to try gmer ( http://www.gmer.net/ ) too - failing that, go for the reinstall. Just be careful not to reinfect yourself when rebuilding.

Autowrite Speed not locking on set speed:
LIGHTNING UK! replied to dr_ml422's topic in ImgBurn Support
if you add the drive name rather than the media id, yes. Likewise, you can add 'DVD-R' and it'll burn all DVD-R (that aren't otherwise specified) at whatever speed you select. -
Autowrite Speed not locking on set speed:
LIGHTNING UK! replied to dr_ml422's topic in ImgBurn Support
You could set it to 50 million, the drive will still only burn at 12x. You can't make a drive do something it knows it can't support, it'll just think you (well, ImgBurn) are stupid and go with the closest speed it *does* support.. -
Maybe you've got some duff discs? Maybe the drive just doesn't like the 8x Verbs all that much? Maybe you're not burning at the optimal speed for that drive/firmware/media combo? The only thing that can cause a bad burn like that is the drive/firmware/media. Nothing else comes into it.
-
If the drive can't read the disc then it can't read the disc. There isn't much you can do about it except ensure your drive and the media are both clean.
-
If it won't burn to the media then you'll have to try another disc / dye. Also, if you've formatted to max capacity - i.e. with 'spare areas' turned off, disable 'FastWrite' in the settings.
-
I'm not saying that's the case here, I'm just telling you that you can't assume anything. PMA errors are common with samsung (and liteon) drives, have been for ages now. It seems to depend on the amount you're burning to the disc and the only people that can fix it are the ones that write the firmware/design the chipset.
-
Not having seen the problem before doesn't really mean anything. I improve error detection / reporting in each version. That's to say, an error that might have gone unnoticed in a previous version will now be reported.
-
Not really because they're project options and not program settings... at least that's how I see them.

problems burning blu ray with 2.4.4 - just stops without error
LIGHTNING UK! replied to abachmann's topic in ImgBurn Support
What you have to know/understand is that once the burn has started, all the program is doing is issuing the same 'WRITE (10)' command over and over again. This is the same for all types of media. It's impossible for me to say why your machine decided to hang, sometimes these things just happen. -

Do you have any other burning software installed? Do you have any virtual drive programs installed? What does the status bar say when you attempt to Cancel the (hung) burn normally? (rather than terminating it via taskmanager). Does the same happen with a Verbatim BD-RE? -
Never heard of sarcasm Rick? I'm 30 and I'm the young one of the bunch. We just get annoyed when people go on and on and on. If anything, you're the ones acting like kids.

lol this is interesting from the ciso.h file... That's their words, not mine!
-
Yes that's right, I'm 13. The rest of the guys are my friends from school - some of them are the year above me though. I tend to add what I have a use for. I have no use for .CISO support, nor any other compressed format. If burning the compressed files is such a problem / chore for you, don't compress them. If you really must compress the files because of disc space issues, why don't you do it the old fashion way with zip/rar/7zip etc? You can't be burning your 'archived' files so frequently that you couldn't spend a couple of minutes decompressing them first.
-
It's not about being open/close minded, I just don't want to do it - end of story.

Actually, 4x used to be more reliable for me on my SH-S203B. Updating the firmware would have helped though.

A proper format of the hdd and reinstall the OS from scratch didn't fix it? Sorry but I don't see how that's possible?!
-
If it burns and verifes ok, ImgBurn has done its job (or rather the drive has). If the disc doesn't work in your player then you'll have to take that up with whoever made the source content / image and whoever made the player - and of course that isn't something you do here on this forum.

Failed to unlock volume from exclusive access.
LIGHTNING UK! replied to MeReadyToRetire's topic in ImgBurn Bugs
If the applications install low level filter drivers - yes, the fewer you have installed the better. Certain filter drivers might not like certain things the previous ones in the list are doing. They get confused and either mess up the I/O chain or just 'hang'.
