I will indeed consider it

It's ok, I know what a messagebox is I just wanted to make sure we were talking about the same thing. You can turn the clunk sound off via 'sounds and audio devices' in control panel.
-
You'll have to do some Googling if you want access to a USB drive (that's not under BIOS control) in a DOS based environment.
-
For the most part, IMG and ISO files could be the same thing. Just rename it. ImgBurn doesn't convert from one to the other so even when you say you'll use ImgBurn to perform that task, you can't. Adding that file to the Build mode source box and wrapping it up in a new ISO is NOT the same thing as converting an image file into a different format. So basically, this has nothing to do with ImgBurn at all. Please put your PS / PSP related stuff in a different forum, it doesn't belong here.

wont finalise the burn on dual layer dvds
LIGHTNING UK! replied to jayofcastleford's topic in ImgBurn Support
Have you tried other speeds from the 'supported' list? -
Speed the burn up a bit. You might find your drive is better geared towards burning that media at higher speeds than lower ones.
-
Do you mean the 'Success' type window?
-
Nope.
-
just google 'ape directshow', download and install the filter.
-
Get both

If you're reading this then you're probably someone that hasn't been clued in just yet as to how bad all the 'cheap' double layer discs are. (or we've told you to read this thread for another reason - read the 5 'options' below!) We see far too many people having problems with RITEK, CMC, RICOH media etc and I can assure you that it isn't just fluke when we suggest the user give Verbatims a try and their issues magically disappear! You get what you pay for in this world and whilst Verbatims might cost you a couple of quid more to start with, you'll be saving in the long run because you won't end up with a stack of coasters! Verbatim DVD+R DL discs are the way forward! (Please note that I said DVD+R DL and not DVD-R DL!!!) Before splashing out on new (better/more expensive) media, you might like to consider your options: Note: The following options actually apply to anyone having problems burning any sort of media. Update the firmware on your drive - right click the drive selection box and click 'Check For Firmware Updates' (or find it in 'Tools' -> 'Drive'). Try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc (or if you're feeling confident, take it apart and clean it manually). Try burning your current media at all of the write speeds your drive says it supports for that MID (look in the disc info text on the right of the main screen to see what they are). Avoid using slimline laptop style drives - in general, they're rubbish. Buy a new drive that supports your current media better/properly (this is still going to be a bit hit and miss). Verbatim DVD+R DL are currently available in two varietys... Dye: MKM-001-00, Write Speed: 2.4x (often 'overspeed' to 4x, 6x or 8x in modern writers) Dye: MKM-003-00, Write Speed: 8x The 8x ones are newer and some older drives don't really have the firmware tweaks required to burn them. For that reason we recommend you stick to the 2.4x ones where possible as these have been around since the beginning of time! Of course if you're having problems with the 2.4x (MKM-001-00) discs, try the 8x (MKM-003-00) ones instead! So, I bet you're thinking 'Hmmm... where can I get me some of those?' - I'll tell you: UK Total Blank Media http://www.totalblankmedia.com/dvdr-double-layer-c-21_36.html?filter_id=13&sort=3a SVP http://www.svp.co.uk/search/index.php?search=MKM http://www.svp.co.uk/technology/consumables/blank-dvdr/double-layer/ Basically, just search for 'MKM' or go via the menu system - 'Categories' -> 'Blank DVDR Media' -> 'Double Layer'. ebay http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_nkw=verbatim+double+layer Basically, just search for 'verbatim double layer'. There are loads of places you can buy them from online.... don't give up so easily!
-
Use Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x discs with the MKM-001-00 dye and made in Singapore. All the others are rubbish.

ImgBurn allocates my full 4 GB RAM :-(
LIGHTNING UK! replied to The_Unknown's topic in ImgBurn Support
Are you sure you're not just looking at what the OS is caching? Looks at ImgBurn as a process, I'm sure it won't be using up your RAM at all beyond what it normally does (and that depends on the size of the buffers you've set). -
The ones you're showing are just when you open and close the program without doing anything. If you're burning via something else (i.e. DVD Flick) the log will probably be missing those sessions because they're local to that application.
-
That goes in the log when YOU close the program. It's just so quick that you don't notice it in the log window.
-
If you're sure the correct controller is set to ATA in the BIOS, the BIOS itself is up-to-date, the firmware on the drive is up-to-date and you've uninstalled your controllers from within Device Manager and rebooted then there's no reason for it not to work. ImgBurn just sticks to the MMC specs so basically any drive will work with it - they too stick to the MMC specs. I had a 212 in my machine for a while and I have the same P35 chipset on my board with the ICH9R, I never experienced and 'hangs' with mine. Have you tried it on a totally clean build? i.e. install the base OS, put the latest intel inf chipset drivers on (and NOTHING else) and then try ImgBurn.
-
ImgBurn's build mode just wasn't designed for that. It's purely meant for burning an existing folder structure 'as-is'.
-
kandyman, Sorry but that's rubbish. If it's right in the log then it'll be right on the disc. evil, It burns at 2.4x no matter which speed you selelct. It's the only one your drive supports - note the 'Supported Write Speeds' in the Disc Information panel on the right. Your drive is complaining that it can't write to the disc. Maybe the lense is dirty? Laptop drives are pretty shit, period. If cleaning doesn't work, invest in a decent external one.
-
Because unlike with write once media, the 'track' on a DVD+RW disc is the entire size of the disc, not just the size of the data you've written to it.
-
Ahh good old Nvidia nForce... THE worst controller/drivers in the world for optical drives! We've been seeing loads of problems with those recently, I guess it's down to their new drivers - or that more people have been buying their boards.
-
For the sake of a 10-25p disc why not just burn it and then come back to us if it doesn't work?!
-
There is actually an issue whereby an error can get missed when Immediate I/O is disabled. The error your system is returning is not detailed in the MMC specs so I doubt it's actually coming from the drive itself - it's probably a dodgy controller driver or filter driver. Which controller is your drive hooked up to exactly?
-
Yes. What exactly is in the 'video' folder? And you have normal ifo/bup/vob files in the 'video_ts' one yeah?
