dvds play in standalone dvd player but not on PC
LIGHTNING UK! replied to junglefish's topic in ImgBurn Support
Updating the program wasn't going to fix your error, I knew that. It does fix other issues though and of course adds/improves on different aspects of the program. The lines mean your drive is still having trouble burning to the disc. Get the decent media and hopefully you'll be ok. -
Turn 'Prefer Properly Formatted +RW' back on in the settings and get ImgBurn to do a FULL erase. Then please post the log from that. When you're burning, turn on the Verify option and post the complete log of both operations. You really need to get yourself a USB 2.0 card or something, you'll be mullering the burnproof feature of the drive if you're stuck at 0.6x speed. That drive is old and probably doesn't do it very well.

There's only one layer, it can't be anything other than PTP!
-
It says it next to where you read the drive name within Imgburn.

and your current firmware version is... ? Anyway, 1.73 is probably the latest. https://sales.sony-semicon.co.uk/sunshine/i...;desc3=Firmware

Automatic Creation of 'CERTIFICATE' Folder

Yes, but don't use 'Read' mode to create your new image, just use the *working* disc in your E: drive as the 'Source' in 'Build' mode. -
L0 Data Zone Capacity Failure When Wanting to Burn

It could be that you're burning at 4x, yes. So long as it burns and verifies ok it means the disc at least readable in the drive that wrote it - that's a good start! I expect the Wii is picky about its media (and the quality of the burn).... after all, it was never really designed to read anything except original 'pressed' Wii games. -

1. Update ImgBurn to the latest version. 2. Buy better media. We recommend Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden. Stick to the 8x stuff because that's all your drive supports. -

Did you verify as part of the burn? If not, you should probably check the 'Verify' box so that it does. When you've done that, please post a log - obviously the first thing we need to check is that the PC can read it. -

L0 Data Zone Capacity Failure When Wanting to Burn
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Raukie's topic in ImgBurn Support
It won't work at the end, the content simply isn't there! Well, you know, whatever was in the last 300,000 or so sectors isn't there. Tell your friend that it still should be left on 'Automatic'. The .DVD and .MDS files take care of layer break positions. -

You've (they've) got the wrong LB position selected in the settings. Put it back on 'Automatic' and leave it! -
ImgBurn's booktype stuff supports all the LG drives that actually support changing the booktype, yours doesn't appear to. That's not uncommon for OEM drives though.
-
I expect the commands just aren't supported in your drives firmware. That's why it says 'Book Type Setting: N/A' in your log. What machine is that drive in btw?

I found the latest real driver for your Marvell controller. Going by this bit... ...I'd guess that it's actually a 6121 and not a 6111. I'm sure they're very much the same thing though Bring up properties on that 'Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller', click 'Update Driver...' on the 'Driver' tab and point it at the folder where you've extracted the attached RAR file to. These drivers are WHQL signed btw. Maybe that'll work, maybe it won't. It's got to be worth a shot Then I guess, if all else fails, pick yourself up a Silicon Image 3112 / 3512 / 3114 card (non raid if possible but you can flash to the non raid bios anyway) on ebay for Marvell.61XX.i386.WHQL.v1.2.0.60.rar

Thanks, that one looks better. I guess with... -
ok so when you build the cue it doesn't actually work properly but you save the cue file anyway and try to burn it - correct? That's when you get the 'in use by another process' error? Of course if you take a quick look at the 'Hint' text in that error box you'll see what the inital problem is.... you need to install an APE directshow filter. You can get the one I've tested with from here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/RadLig...Show_Filter.htm

Do you also have a disc that's writable? As mmalves picked out, the size was all wrong for that DL disc in the log you posted but ImgBurn still let you try and burn to it - meaning it thought it was still empty. That's the one I'm interested in seeing the disc info for if you're able to reproduce the situation! -
Network Burns: Cache to HD before burn
LIGHTNING UK! replied to DragonPhyre's topic in ImgBurn Suggestions
Burning images or just little files? I've done dummy image burning before (making ImgBurn skip the code where it actually burns to disc) and it easily maxed out my LAN... and that was up in/nearer the 40mb/s region. -

Automatic Creation of 'CERTIFICATE' Folder
LIGHTNING UK! replied to DominikM's topic in ImgBurn General
Ok, what you need to do is put the disc in the drive that Nero made and ImgBurn burnt (i.e. from the top log) and then add that drive to the 'Source' box in Build mode. i.e. put the disc back in your E: drive and add 'E:\' to the source box in Build mode. Then click 'Build' to make a new ISO and burn that ISO to a new disc. That way we've got 2 discs with identical files, 1 of which you know works. So if the 2nd one doesn't it must be down to the filesystem implementation. If that's the case I'll get back to you with more instructions so I can figure out why -

Please do me a favour, put that same disc back in the drive (in Write mode) and copy + paste all the disc info text from the panel on the right.
